More on the unpopular options, I tend to use the screw top lid containers instead of Elizabeth ward ones the drills feel more secure and less chance of spilling. I love squares and find them easier to work with than rounds. I love abs and they're easy to place with either putty or bluetack. I also love bluetack for placing my diamonds. I think trays lids and stoppers are useless since I never use them.

Love watching your asmr videos here on youtube. They are my favorite. So relaxing.

I also think squares are nicer to work with than rounds. I use washi tape, but second off per row. And I use very smal sections.

    Joining in on your opinions!
    1) I'm not happy about AI art personally, I know for a fact that lots of AI runs their programs off of a large and unspecified database of images - which essentially means that the AI is using copyrighted images and art to "create" a "new" image. I don't know, it just feels very scummy to me personally, with the lack of specifications and honesty in the AI field.
    2) Handcharting vs computer rendering is such a subjective thing, but I totally agree that hand charting technically means a more finished and effort-laid end product. That being said, I personally totally like the computer charted softness more 😂 Rendering is much like art - it depends on the artist. Sometimes I just dont like the cartoonishness of some hand-rendered products, while other hand-rendered artworks can have that same softness to it!
    3) "You finish what you start" is such an odd thought - I never thought that people might start a diamond painting and then abandon it 😮 I always finish what I start, and personally greatly dislike clutter so I only keep max two projects going at the same time (this rule does not apply to my crocheting - but you can re-purpose yarn from one project to another, while you're stuck with the dp canvas you've gotten!)
    4) I disagree with a hobby not needing to be fun. I find that if I power through something that isn't fun, I will burn out and be unable to do anything else all day. But that's probably the neurodivergence talking 😂💕
    5) I love ABs! Im a sucker for ABs and Crystals, because they are the most visible special drills. I have also found success with placing them using your putty, but tend to keep to the basic red wax for safety - it just works the best 🤭 Maybe it also has to do with how much pressure you put on the drills while placing?
    6) I've never tried double-sided adhesive, so I have no idea what the difference is. But I do always look for poured glue when I shop, because I am far from a perfect placer and like to push my drills around!
    7) Well if you work with cover paper, coverminders sure are useless 🤣 But even when I do my plastic cover sections, I just take the plastic section off because I get annoyed at the plastic flopping around. I decorate with them, so I like them - but I rarely go out of my way to get more (just one pokemon themed one from you haha 🥰)
    8) I use washi tape on the plastic! I need it there to define the outer edges of my cut section. And it's my favorite accessory to collect, as I can also use it for journaling and water color painting!
    9) I do prefer the larger canvases, but the smaller paintgems are really fun as a quick satisfactory finish. I have made some Paintgem flowers that I framed individually and gifted to my family for mother's day, and I play on placing multiple of the green houseplants in a larger frame as a collage ✨
    10) I like those, but I prefer single containes that aren't stuck together. I love the round bottle cases most for functionality and feel, and the E-Ward containes for display and function (different sized containers are really handy to get all your drills out in one storage at once)

Here's a opinion on the diamond painting community that I dont see often: I hate the "ASMR" style videos that specifically spill and mix drills in their videos. I don't know why, but I get lots of them in my instagram reels - it'll be mostly asmr, but then BOOM a loud noise of the person quickly emptying two drill containers into the tray and the two different color drills mixing and flying everywhere. I can't stand the messiness of it, but I suspect that's the point. Ragebait sells, on social media 😅

Wauw, what an elaborate answer. Thank you! I agree on the AI part now, someone else commented a similar thing and I never thought of it that way. Makes sense!
On the putty for it ABs, it sure matters how much pressure you use. But also on how old the putty is and if the ABs are first or last to go down in that section. If you do them first it's way easier.
On the containers, I might change my mind if I ever try the EW ones. That's why I'm not going to 🤣 I'd probably don't want to go back. And that will cost a lot for all my wips. Money and space 🤭
Aaah! Thank you! And thank you so much for watching & commenting as well 😊

I use these containers as well. I’ve never used another system, but I like these so far. I think the Elizabeth Ward (or similar systems) is just trendy.
But I’m very new to diamond painting, so what do I know 😊

Hi Mademe, good morning from Southern California,
    Please tell me your name.
If I can remember your complaints I will try to compare. I like Washi tape. I use the very skinny to divide the rendering up. This helps my ADHD brain. I am working on Golden Cocker Spaniel by Peggy Collins. If I don't want to see the whole rendering I lay 8x10 release papers. As for storage, I use several different kinds including knockoffs of Elizabeth Ward. Right now I am using Elizabeth Ward. I using two trays which also covers up the rendering. The less I see the better my brain is. I have been working on Golden Cocker Spaniel since February. Because I suffer from depression I will not work on the rendering. Also I didn't work the last two weeks in June because I had a very bad fall in my house. Since July 1st I have been spending at least an hour.
I know I got off track. That is because I don't remember what else you spoke about.

I would just like for companies to identify if art is AI or not. I don't care what other people do. But I have artist friends, and they believe AI Is stealing art (they believe chunks of other people's art have been found in images). I support them, so I personally won't buy AI. Doesn't mean I'm on a manhunt to stop people and shut down companies, I'd just like to be informed and know up front. I accidentally purchased a couple of images before I knew what they were, and now I have to do a lot of research before purchasing. When buying from places that have limited stock and rely heavily on the FOMO model, I've declined purchasing simply because I was unsure. I'm much better at spotting it now, but AI is improving and making it harder to recognize. I also have opinions about paying premium prices for a chat prompt, but I'll leave that alone.

I agree with all 10. If I had to add an 11th i would say the Elizabeth Ward storage system is stupid. So sorry I wasted good money on that monstrosity. It takes up too much space and I struggle when I open the containers. My fingers hurt. My hands hurt. Ugh, so overrated. Great video! You had me giggling a lot. My favorite was Finish What You Start. Finishing a 60x80 dreamer design Square Drill Gap Fiasco was the hardest thing I ever did. No joy whatsoever. But I’m not a quitter and I laid down every last drill until I finished it, 🎉

Haha lol! I've never tried them, still want to though.. the knock off version that is 🤭 I actually ordered one last night of Temu. Let's see.
Yep, DD squares are .. not fun to me either. Great job pushing through 👍🏻😜
