AOS brings out all the Suraj embarrassment. First "spreading her legs... erm wings"...
Adrenalin wears off, memories brought up into surface don't really since its more psychology than adrenalin - being forced to relive something scars you no matter what forced you to relive it. The staff effect wears off, but the mental issues it brought up might take longer. In Ward's case it was something he suppressed for a long time so it came off worse, while in May's case its something she lives with everyday so it was not as aggressive of a change. Still both have past traumas they can bond over.
This was one of your best reactions to aos, really looks like youre starting to get into the shower and enjoy it which makes your reactions more enjoyable. So keep it up😀👍

This was a much more enjoyable reaction, since you seem to finally be paying attention to what is going on.
I still sighed when you said "He told a much more lighthearted story about cake". He told Skye in episode 3 that their older brother used to beat the crap out of him and their younger brother over the smallest things like eating a piece of cake. There's nothing lighthearted about that. You just weren't paying attention during that episode and kept misunderstanding it.
And LOL about still thinking Fitz and Simmons were siblings. Even though they have different last names and one is Scottish and the other English.
The only movie that's actually necessary to see because of the tie-in is Captain America: The Winter Soldier after episode 16. The other tie-ins aren't that substantial - just like this one wasn't.
The Shield is more like The Sopranos but with corrupt cops instead of gangsters: it has episodic cases, but it's an ongoing drama with a lot of moral ambiguity and a villain protagonist. But its finale is way better than that of The Sopranos - I think it's one of the best TV finales ever.
I still haven't watched Captain America: TWS, and I enjoyed Shield just fine, perhaps even more, because I had literally no clue about was going to happen, so I was blown away because I hadn't seen any of that coming.
these guys are american right? So it would make sense that they dont know a damn thing about british accents and their differences. You have to care about that stuff to learn it.
@@devinwhite5064 I mean, I’m an American, and I know the difference between an English accent vs. a Scottish accent. Especially ones like Fitz and Simmons. The sound very dissimilar like the difference between an American and Irish accent.

The only tie-in that really affects the whole show apart from references is Winter Soldier. Def need to watch that around episode 16 and 17.
This section of the series introduces us to the characters. We learned about Skye on episode 5, Simmons on 6, Fitz on 7, now Ward, on 8, and the next features something on May.
FitzSimmons aren't blood related. At all.
After that, just one more episode before "the real Shield" begins. :D

There was no Black Panther tie in. Imo Agents of SHEILD became much better when they stopped living in the shadow of the MCU films.
There was no Black Panther tie in because Black Panther decided to be set directly after Civil war, so the show couldn't really reference it.
I certainly look forward to seeing the fall-out of Infinity War in AoS season 6.
Black Panther is set right after Civil War and is mostly self-contained when compared to other movies.
THERE is a connection though in form of consequences of BP's events tho but its a more minor one.
It's definitely enhanced by having thematic similarities. Example being there was no direct tie-ins to Doctor Strange but the show introduced magic at the same time, with very similar SFX.

The show was literally created after an MCU movie. The show was meant to work within the confines of the Cinematic Universe. The show is at its best when it doesn’t ignore the cinematic universe occurrences, and expands on the day-to-day inner workings of the Organization that is within the cinematic universe...
We got a very cool season 4 because the show utilized the world building of the MCU... I won’t say it here, so as to not spoil anything
Well, the book that was used in that series of Agents of SHIELD is one that should have been part of the Ancient One's collection (and does belong to Doctor Strange in the comics) but there was a book that was missing from the collection. So of course not a huge tie in, but definitely bigger than just the magic and SFX.
*Side note for Navi:* There actually a 'comedy' series for the MCU called Marvel's Damage Control planned early on that address the whole clean up issue (it's from the comics too), but the pilot seem to be stuck in production limbo for a long time. However Damage Control as an agency made it's first MCU appearance in Spider-man Homecoming flashback with Stark, they were the ones that took over clean up from Adrian Toomes (Vulture) and force him out of business.

The Berserker staff forces you to relive your worst memory/experience. Ward had been repressing his memories since he was young, so being forced to relive them was pretty dramatic As May said, she relives hers in her mind everyday, so it was just like, "Oh that's what it does.".
Ok, Thor 2, Iron Man 3, that's fine, you don't need them that much even thoug the show mentions Extremis and norse stuff. But you guys HAVE to watch Captain America 2 between episodes 16 and 17. This movie affects the show a LOT. Really, the show changes entirely after that. Make sure that everyone watches this movie after episode 16 and before apisode 17, and pay attention to everything that happens to/with SHIELD at it.
The Shield wasn't as spin-off, however it was created & showran by former Angel writer Shawn Ryan. After Angel ended its five season run, the writing duo of Elizabeth Craft & Sarah Fain were then hired by Ryan to write for The Shield. I mention this because Agents of SHIELD co-showrunner Jeffrey Bell was a writer on Angel as well its showrunner for the final two seasons. And a cast member from The Shield (I won't name them in case you consider it a spoiler) would later have a recurring role on Agents of SHIELD. A couple faces from Angel show up on Agents of SHIELD too. #ItsAllConnected
The Wire, on the other hand, is from the same writers (and takes place in the same universe) as Homicide: Life on the Street and Oz.

This is episode is good! As other people have mentioned in the comments, we, who have watched episodes ahead, understand your frustration with this part of the season. I remember watching Torchwood and how people I knew would ask me to sit through season 1 because it would be important for when the show got good. It was a pretty difficult season to sit through, but it finally paid off in a big way with children of the earth. Agents Of Shield may seem like a ‘monster of the week’ type thing now, but in a few quick episodes, you will see a marked difference in the pace, plot lines and even acting.

A good thing to know is that most tie-ins with the movies come up in the episode that comes out the same day or the week after the movie was released, so it's safe to watch the movies but from the second season on, the tie-ins usually become very subtle

So, this was the episode where I suddenly became intensely fascinated with May; I liked her enough before, she was cool, she had these words of wisdom; but when she took the staff and handled it like a pro, and then they asked her why she was able to control it, she just answers something to the effect of because I live with it every day. It implied a type of self hatred that we see later in the show; that she was going through some serious shit but wasn't going to say anything. There is a way to play the brooding warrior so that it doesn't come across as cliched, and May is a perfect example of that; she doesn't speak, but when she does it means something
My father inherently disagrees; he hates May with a burning passion. He thinks she's the worst of this cliche of the tough stoic warrior and thinks that she's just angry all the time. The only person I've ever met who hates this character
Navi said not sure if they will watch another episode. Did she mean not that day or they're done reacting to AOS? Hope they keep reacting, this show gets so crazy good after S1E16. I think a lot of people gave up on show at mid season and missed out on one of the best shows on TV, stick with it Normies it's worth it.

I once looked up a timeline just to see which movies to watch in which order and was taken to the timeline page of the Marvel Wiki Page which has what to watch movies, shows and comic orders but also another section that takes into account flashbacks and what is happening concurrently. So for anyone who may not known: Agents of SHIELD got confirmed to get a sixth season!!! YEAH! Sadly, it's only a half-season, 13 episodes (I saw someone on Twitter joke that Thanos killed half the season; I like to think that's the case, making things meta).
But still, six seasons and a movie*, we did it guys!*To the Normies, you'll understand that line in a few months! :P And it's from another show, but whatev! :p
*As for the movie, well, the first Avengers movie is pretty much a prequel to the show, isn't it? Coulson's origin story and all! :p

With AOS, every episode literally links into each new season. It’s as if the writers wrote 6 seasons first and then started filming, everything is so well thought out!! You’ll warm up to Skye in ep 12 onwards
This was a very cool episode with nice character moments and fun Norse mythological elements.
In Spiderman Homecoming they showed an organisation called "Damage Control" who cleans up after events. Which Tony Stark funded in 2012. After the events in new York.
However in this episode Shield cleaned up after the events of Thor The Dark World in UK in 2013.
Damage Control was planned to be a show but due to the feuds between NBC, ABC and Fox it kind of died. The original plan was to have Stark create that organization to take over the clean-up duties. Since the show never materialized, Homecoming did a nice nod to the concept.
Harry Dresden yes i actually know that. But they should have featured some form of Damage Control on agents of Shield.

Damage Control WAS part of shield so there was no need to highlight them being there. The scene at the start? Majority of non-team there most likely was exactly that. Then after Civil war, Tony buys it out and rebrands it.
Mark Cruz SHIELD made a reference to Damage Control about midway through Season 3 *spoilers* the episode where Mack goes to visit his brother
Harry Dresden actually Tony began Damage Control in 2012 after the events of Avengers 1. Its in Spiderman Homecoming.

This is the episode where I think The Normies became more engaged with the show, imo. Re-watching this again, it's a really good season one episode.
There are tie-ins to the movies through out the series so pretty much watch the movies before getting to the episodes. The Thor well was from age of ultron when he saw about ragnarok and the infinity stones

About the villains, there is some big villains in the future of the show. From episode 10 on things starting picking a pace and if you are a comic reader you might recognize some people from there.

Haven't got around to watching AoS, but I've heard about the hype on this show and have read comments saying the show gets better. At what point of the show does it pick up and get better? Like as soon as season 2 starts or what? I've been watching the normies reactions to season 1 and the show isn't appealing to me at all. I'm not hating on AoS, I actually hope that i'll end up liking it at some point lol.
When the show "picks up" depends on the viewer, to a degree.
Some people (like me) say it gets good at Episode 5/6; great at Episode 10/11 and utterly amazing at Episode 16/17.
Others say it gets good at Episode 10/11, and great at Episode 16/17.
And still others say Episodes 13 and 14 are good, everything else in the first 15 is meh, and everything from Episode 16 onwards is great.
So, basically, everybody agrees that the show is awesome from Episode 16 onwards, which is very appropriately titled _End of the Beginning_ .
Also, I've found that trying to get a feel for a show from cut-up versions of the Episodes through Reactions on TH-cam doesn't really give anything close to a reliable indication of the overall quality of said Episodes.
Or do you watch the full Episodes along with them? If so, I hereby apologize for assuming that you didn't.

That was NOT the "Thor Well" it was a flashback that Ward had of being tortured by his brother. That "Girl" in the well WAS Ward. And just FYI Thor went to a BIG ASS cave in Age of Ultron, not a well.
That was not ward in the well it was his little brother. Ward was tortured by his older bother by making ward express his darker desires
