Hello Matt, I am sure that you love flying in and out of Alpine, and up around the Tetons. The natural beauty of WY, UT and ID are beyond describable. I live vicarioulsy through your videos and hope at some point to begin flying again here in Jackson.

I stayed in a motor home park across the highway from Alpine Airport 2 years ago. Being a long time pilot I was envious of anyone that is lucky enough to live there. My dream place.

Long time viewer, first time commenter…my family has rented a hangar condo/home at Alpine in July. I’ll be flying in our 1966 Piper Cherokee 140/180 from Denver to fly my uncle and Neisse and nephews over to site see in Yellowstone. Would be cool to see the jet flying in person.
Anybody else ever notice how an S.211 looks like the lovechild of a T-2 Buckeye and a T-45 Goshawk? Pretty cool seeing one in US Navy trainer colors. Looks like a great place to fly.

Hey Matt - You are living all of my aviation fantasies!! I stopped training mid-way thru getting my IFR ticket, life and time just got in the way. But thankfully I can see what I'm missing by watching your vids! So is jumping in the Bonanza feel like a big step back now?

At $4500 per hour in the L-39, I can only dream!
but think, you'll have the experience of flying a real jet. aside from select military folks, not a lot of people can experience that. I'd say it's worth it

Yeah jets can move but a modern light jet could have the same performance for a fraction of the cost. A 2 seater could weigh less than 10% of the L39. It's a cast iron skillet.

I have been wondering this for some time now. Do You have pirotechnics in the seats ? could You eject if need be ? Or did they get disarmed and removed to not let civilians have explosives ?

What airspeed over the Grand Tetons? 400 knots? Last I checked it was 250 knots below 10,000'. Follow the rules rich kid. They apply to you too!

Matt a couple of questions. Did you look at getting an F-5E and if not why not? How does the L-39 compare to the F-5E? Love the videos. My cousin has a home up in Star Valley which is one valley over from Jackson.
F5E is much faster and powerful. It has a much higher stall speed and would be way more expensive to maintain. Parts are harder to find because there is fewer of them left, and the L39 is more practical in every way

They look like T-38's to me. Not F-5's
They look like F-5Bs, which look very similar to the T-38. The F-5B had a similar nose aoa probe to the T-38, but had wingtip station pylons. Normally early F-5A, B, and C, models had wingtip tanks installed.
Twin seat F-5s are very rare, especially F-5Fs.

Looks like F-5f. I thought the same thing at first but the F-5's have a missile rack on the wing tip whereas the T-38 does not. Another difference is the wing meeting the fuselage. Good catch though.

@@paramtrx9558 The F-5B and F-5F, as well as the CF-5D are all two seat, another giveaway that these are F-5s is the drag chute... The T-38 is not equipped for a drag chute. Then there are the Intakes... If you look at the front of the intakes, they are vertical on the F-5, and angled forward on the T-38.

It's an F-5B which has similar dimensions to a T-38, but has more powerful engines, larger intakes, and can carry armament. The original F-5A (single seat) and F-5B (dual seat) _Freedom Fighter_ is a lightweight fighter based on the T-38 _Talon_ dual seat trainer. They were all built on the same assembly line in Hawthorne, California by *Northrup.* Five years later, Northrup introduced the improved F-5E (single seat) and F-5F (dual seat) _Tiger II_ as a larger more capable successor to their smaller _Freedom Fighter._
Essentially, the *T-38* _Talon_ supersonic trainer is to the *F-5A* & *B* _Freedom Fighter_ is to the larger *F-5E* & *F* _Tiger II,_ what the *YF-17* USAF LWF demonstrator is to the *F/A-18A-D* _Hornet_ is to the larger *F/A-18E* & *F* _Super Hornet_

Beech (Raytheon) bought almost all of the existing Starships from their owners and had them destroyed. I am guessing this could be the only one remaining.

Hi Matt Amasing video, I have been watching your TH-cam videos from the start of this Flying you do. That said I missed the last 7 months and my Jaw Dropped when I loged in to TH-cam and there you are with a Jet. Absulootly amasing Life you have. I would probably not want see you try landing in Russia like the one time you did. Lmao that was Absulootly white knuckle watching that video.
