🙏 love this block, boingypop and unreleased knapsack make me go berserk also the underscores hymn singing please know you are doing me a solid here flash I was Definitely freaking out after I saw underscores say in the six discord that they weren't reuploading it
hello, after gunk (one of the songs in their set) was released by underscores i am back again to share some thoughts: i find it interesting how the dubstep drop at the beginning is obviously supposed to be the end of the song. i have some reasons as to why i believe this makes sense lore wise in underscores's interview w cat scratch mag they stated, "The new wave of the future is the old wave of the past, which means, in reality, there is no new wave of the future." taking the drop that was "supposed" to be at the end, representing the future, and putting it at the beginning, representing the past/present, is putting it where it rightfully is. i hear you asking, "well spark, why is the drop in this goop fest set after the verse?" either they did that for it to sound better or its showing that the song will drop in the future (since, yknow, gunk wasn't officially out back then) and now that it is out, the drop is in the front. might be overanalyzing this, idk, lmk ur thoughts as i am a major nerd when it comes to underscores lore

@@flashmemories thanks for all the infos! I’m dumb, i realized just now that Underscores and Milkfish are the same person AND they are part of Six Impala. For personal issues I didn’t give enough time to the new music I liked these years, and while Six Impala seemed like the most interesting project of this new wave of post-hyperpop sound, I never investigated on the actual people making all the music. Underscores as a solo project popped in youtube suggestions and I instantly fell in love, I thought it shared a lot with Six Impala, but I never dug deep enough. So thanks again, you gave me a lot of stuff to look up, I’ll start asap. And yeah, if you have any other infos I’d be happy to know more, as most people here would, I guess. (As for the dubstep drop before/after I have a different theory, but I don’t wanna pretend that I know more than you do) Also thanks to this youtube channel, I’m not sure on how you find all these niche artists and I wish I was still in touch like I was, uhm, 5 years ago? 🥲
@@jacopovilla1590 ack i havent seen this until now !!!! its wonderful to have someone joining in, im currently in the works of figuring out how to document a lot of strange stuff ive noticed abt milkfish and how gunk seems to be bridging milkfish & the underscores project together. for example, the sparkle sound effect combined w the signature high pitched six impala sound effect was used after the dubstep drop in the beginning of gunk, which has also been used on milkfish's claws remix at the very beginning. the choices for some parts of gunk screams of the signature milkfish style. of course this could also be interpreted as milkfish, underscores, and six impala all being connected lore wise. ive been talking to another fan on discord and we both agree that what the next album/release underscores will do is ultimately make all of these things obvious to the public and I want to figure out as much as I can before then. as for now, I can tell u another thing about milkfish, the dates are really skewed. their debut album GIRLGIRLBOY is claimed to be released in 2006 but its actually released in 2019, and their bio used to be "19yr old boomer" which got changed to "29yr old boomer" in a span of 1-2 years, which clearly doesn't add up.
Thank you so much for uploading this. Actual tears came out of my eyes when underscores walked away from the camera and I realized the set was ending, I’m so glad someone was able to save it.
