I had the same reaction. The runner had plenty of momentum. Instead of trying to beat the defender to the corner, he should have just lowered his shoulder and taken the defender into the end zone with him.
He did the right thing. McVea was unblocked, and could have made the tackle in the backfield. But he got sucked inside and upfield just a bit, Jackson bounced to the edge, and we watched an epic foot race to the corner.

Those two completely reckless INTs thrown by OKState in the 1st half were the difference. Aside from one other touchdown thats really the only time Baylor was able to find the endzone.
