This is so funny 😂. The thing I love in twilight is that we see a predator stalking his pray and saying it's love. The best book definitely is midnight sun, because we see his thoughts and how not romantic it is.

I always viewed it as that, even before Midnight Sun :) He many times said in the book that he is a predator.
I kinda like that he never sugarcoated anything.
He straight up told her, ''Hey, you yummy''.
Meyer even mentions it multiple times that the reason he's so captivated by her is because her blood 'sings' to him.
It's like romanticising Hannibal Lecter and his next victim because he complimented them how on how juicy they looked 😅
I've hated New Moon since the day it came out. What a nightmare of a book! The only part of it that I loved were the cut pages that the author posted on her website. It was a whole subplot where despite walking out of Bella's life, Edward was trying his hardest to send her a ton of money to go to college and she kept not taking it. It resulted in Bella being sent a box of cash and she angrily through it at the Cullen's empty house. Annnnnnd the box went crashing through a window. The comedy of it + Edward being INSANE, was simply a really fun read.
As a twilight super fan since I was a literal child (I’m 21 now) I agree. I hate new moon. I hate it with every part of me lmao

I love how your sister just loved torturing you just so she can talk crap about twilight with you lol I was laughing so hard this whole video. Twilight was horrible but at the time I loved it so much 🤣🤣🤣 she should have included midnight sun just to torture you some more lol! I def want to see you and her do more book swaps. Haha, this made me laugh. I agree whole heartily with not liking New Moon but that book made me Team Jacob because he cared for her since the first book and wanted to help her get through Edward not being there. I would enjoy another book swapping video and Happy reading!

Lol you crack me up - I actually had a love/hate relationship with these books when they were released but overall I enjoyed them, but Bella drove me nuts I mean seriously nuts !!! Team Edward 😉

I was a MASSIVE Twilight fan when I was a tween/teenager. I adored the books and the movies. And even at the absolute peak of my Twilight fanaticism, I could not stand Bella Swan. She irritated me back then and she still irritates me now 😂 Certified Bella hater 🙈

I will go to my grave believing Bella didn't deserve attention from EITHER Edward or Jacob! Bella was the worst character in the entire series!!
This reminds me of Taylor Lautner playing a Team Edward girl arguing with her ex-bestie, who is Team Jacob. In the end, their friendship is restored when they agree that Bella didn't deserve either guy.

First of all, your sibling love for each other is genuine and so fun. And yes more book swaps with your sister. I envy you and your sister are so mature and fun regarding the love for reading. Bookswaps are amazing content for the channel.
2nd, when she said to you "I am not doing this to torture you" when she gave the twilight books. I just said out on the open: Girl that is sweet but it wont exactly make it less a torturous for him. (But he is open and had a discpline to read it though. Mad respect for him.)
But at the end of the video, I realize now her purpose is to just know whether you are team Edward or Team Jacob and so that you could both have good Rant Montage about it haha. So fun and sweet.
I am a straight guy but learned to love some romance novels but I never read the twilight books and only caught glimpses of the twilight movies because my mom and female classmates are addicted to it and forced to watch some scenes. I realize though the book was truly published in a different time and seems like people have different mindset though and they really love it but only later on during this 2024, they see how "stalkerish" Edward is and how narcisstic Bella is hahah.
I love that you are so open minded and finished the books despite knowing how the books perceived is now. I might try reading those books for fun and to actually see other people's eyes. Since your sister loved them but still get to see all the red flags and plot holes in it and agree to you about it, then your sister is awesome and the twilight book might be worth a read for me.
But first I am more excited with the books you gave with your sister and I want to read them. The book cover themselves are to die for just to hold and look at. Damn.

The funny thing about Twilight to me is that everyone who grew up loving this series absolutely understands how horrible it is as adults, but the nostalgia is what keeps us hooked. It’s extremely entertaining to laugh at something you spent your entire teenagehood thinking was the best thing to ever exist 😂 I was 13 when I read the first book. Of course I thought it was amazing. I’ll probably never read it again, but I damn sure force my loved ones to watch the movies… just to feel something

I found out I liked to read, in high school when we got assigned reads, but I didn't have readers in my life nor bookstores close to me. When I started dating my husband I knew he read as a hobby. My first gift to him was the 2nd book of the Eragon series. Twilight series is what got me into reading as a hobby. 😅 I was in my early twenties (I'm 42 now). My sisters in law lent them to me and I got hooked. Since it was close to Christmas when I was reading them, my sister got me the books as Christmas gift. So, not on my favorites series of all time, but I have to thank Stephanie for opening the door for me to the amazing hobby of reading books. 😊

I was 17 years old when i first read the twilight series i own all the books i have reread that series so many times
No offense to anyone who loves this series. There are definitely interesting parts to it, but overall, it could have benefitted from more editing and direction. The books were definitely better than the movies especially Breaking Dawn that was turned into two movies. It was a money grab by the studio.

After watching your video I felt like I am watching real people. I know that sounds weird and other Booktubers are also real people, but they finish series "in no time" while, well not all of us do. And seeing you struggle with it and how long it took you to read feel more real-life. Right now I am in 9 book series I've started in January, it's April and I am still reading book 3. You intrigued me with the James Islington books. So I Googled him. He's a fellow Aussie, I found the books on my local library's online catalogue, and I've placed them on hold😊.
I recommend Against All Gods and Storming Heaven by Miles Cameron. They are the first two books in a trilogy, the third hasn't been published yet to my knowledge.
The whole Jacob/Renesmee/imprint thing is 100% not okay. And some of the fans try to say, 'but it's not romantic!' or 'he's like her older brother'. No. Absolutely not. I truly believe Stephanie intended it as romantic from the start because why at the end of the Breaking Dawn movie does Jacob say to Edward, 'so should I start calling you dad?' ...Like??? if it's not romantic why would he say that?! She's still a child at that point people WAKE UP

I'm Team Edward, taking out all the toxic stuff, Edward was always her pick. Bella has eyes only for him and vice versa. Jacob never got a chance, their kisses were like "oh let me force this kiss on you while i confess my feelings and you don't feel the same" and "I'm gonna go to battle and i dont want to come back because you're getting married", like come on?!?!?!?
I KNOW!! Jacob was such a child!
I liked the background to the vampires and shifters, the best part of the whole story is the end, favourite character was Alice. Not read them again since I got them, probably never will.

I have a funny story. So I was bored and went to our Army PX. I read Eclipse first…😮But, still got it. Then read the first two books. I am with you Ian, I absolutely hated New Moon. Then it became a crazy movie thing. Then, Breaking Dawn came out. I was horrified, but hooked with the drama. I loved the series. And I found it by accident in 2007.
I remember my late friend gave me the first one when they first come out. Team Jacob all the way.
If you somewhat like Stephanie meyers writing. Please read her book "the host". It honestly is my favorite. The first few chapters are somewhat boring. But they set the stage for a really amazing story.
Oh yes, the world building in that book is insane.

I like first person pov's but they need to have about 2 pov's (love intrest and main charachter) this is ofc mostly in romance books. I can take fantasy books with first person, with only 1 pov but it takes so much more time to finish the book.
