Do we know what caused the crash? It looked like the front wheels were not linked, but that was after the crash so we can't be sure if that was cause or effect.
I'm almost in tears watching this, knowing that we'll never hear the dulcet tones of Henry Hope Frost in the commentary box ever again.
He was such a natural, and such a knowledgeable expert.

@@SeeWorldKevin I think the best way to describe this is, the Bugatti Type 35 had an insane run, despite its age, the Ferrari 275 GTB as well, despite its value (big thumbs up to the owner for going "right, I'd like to see my car do what it does best"), and the Can-Am Lola T70, despite the fact that it is rather unsuitable for hillclimb courses...

I have to win the lotto then im gonna have 10 kids. 5 will be racers (cause if one dies ill still have four (bad joke i know)) 3 will be fighters and two I will ignore and they will probably turn to drugs

Such an awesome event, I love seeing so many different styles of cars, and drivers with vastly different backgrounds. That Bugatti stole the show.

You know your run is very quick if the other drivers let out a collective Oh! at 16:33 . That's an incredible run for a 90 year old car from Mr. Majzub!
Of the pre-war cars, some of the cars that could have set WAY faster times were:
8:11 The Bugatti type 59 GP
9:01 Alfa Romeo Tipo B P3 - my favourite racing car, had excellent torque at low revs, that explains how it ate up the time deficit at the steeper part of the hill,
6:11 and the Mercedes Benz W125 - it is the most powerful GP car until the 1980s turbo F1 cars, with 650BHP! so what do you expect of it?
Duncan Ricketts and this very awesome prepared Riley are a priceless combination... it gives a real feeling, and a very impressive example, what those brave oldschool vintage Racedrivers have performed in that famous Age of Motorsports. You rarely see modern racecars slide around. I think it's because they have so much grip that soon as you go over the limit it's very hard to get it back. While cars (and tires!) like the Type 35 just kind of float from entry to exit, not a moment under the limit and with the driver constantly see sawing the wheel dealing with hovercraft levels of grip.
What an absolute treat to see a car like that driven the way it was built to 90 years ago in HD. Thanks to everyone who made it possible for me to see that run for free on youtube with a special thanks to Mr. Majzub.

Oh geez...hanging out tonight alone...feeling so much nostalgia and totally loving this video!!! Great night for me - thank you Goodwood Road & Racing. I hope those of you who have read my previous post can understand where I'm coming from - nothing nasty meant. Motor sport is a great love for me. So are beautiful women for that matter...but you know the big difference for me?...I can drive an Alfa today and a Ferrari tomorrow...but the Alfa will never be jealous!!! ;-)

I am at a loss for words this was brilliant!
I'm really enjoying this! Not finished yet ;-) Thank you so much for this wonderful and historical show of such epic and important vehicles of our past...the grandfathers and grandmothers of our present day cars.
But I wanted to also say; I really like some of these drivers who are driving the old cars from the 30's. The reason is, they seem to be going for it. You can really see some driving skill...they honor the cars they drive!
In order to run this series I suspect one has to be rich. No problem - that's all good!! But I know some of these types, and most of them can't drive their way quickly out of a parking lot!!! For those of you watching that DO know how to drive; you know, poor average guys like me who have raced and gone to pro driving schools and have done quite well, but just not the funds to realize your dream...I say, don't despair; for what it's worth, I believe you have what it takes - I know you're out there (because I'm not alone) and truth be told, I'm one - and oh so frustrated. You know. the guys that have the skills but not the bucks! This is one of my great frustrations in life. Instead I went on to become a very accomplished musician and composer - I'm totally okay with that - in fact, I love it!. But lord knows, I have an intense passion for motor sports, always have, and this video grabs my by the Skoda ;-). So what the heck am I going on about? Just seems like some of these guys in this wonderful video, have raisins for balls. (Yes I know the cars are expensive and precious so I understand). But really, a Benetton that can't take 1st? Or a Ferrari Daytona that can't place? Listen to when the Daytona driver gets on the gas coming out of a turn...sounds to me like he's looking for a parking place... ;-) lol To Goodwood Road & Racing team, thank you so much for such an inspirational and fantastic automotive video!!! Just had to vent a little since I'm just a wanna be ;-( -But damn, I sure can play piano! ... :-) ...hey, know what? So could Gilles Villeneuve - better believe baby!! ;-)

Whoa! This is incredible!...the more I watch, the faster they get - really getting into some modern racing speeds here and I'm loving every moment of it!!!. All my previous criticisms are for naught. (except that Daytona driver :-( ...hmm...). yeah I know...it's planned that way..but hell, I'm having such a good time tonight!!! Thanks to you all!

Agreed Mate!..That Subaru is a car modified from showroom car,
the kind that ordinary mortal like us could get with a bit of effort on tuning stuff :D..
Yet it is capable to run milisecond with the likes of Group C & F1 Formula. Kudos for Subaru, Prodrive & Marc

There it’s a saying here in Puerto Rico that goes, “It is not the arrow, but the Indian who throws it”, and you could see it here, that there is a quality on the performance aside from the power of the car. Thank, I enjoyed it so much...

Never can you se such a wide range of vehicles from decades, almost a century spread out...competing like this. Love it...I really wish there were more races like this where top speed and hp don't make up time as much as drivers willing to push their rides!
