It would be cute for the two to meet and, depending on whether they want to pursue the option of Adapting Amy's crush on Sonic in the movies, I think it would be cool if they showed both of their perspectives. Honestly, I think it would be really cute if there was a flashback scene that shows they met as kids but he doesn't remember, kind of referencing Sonic CD and how they look younger cutsenes in the game. And she goes to Earth to find him again, just like in the game where she went to Little Planet to meet him, maybe she went there because her tarot cards told her where he would be! I don't know, I just think it would be good motivation for her to go after him in the movie and kind of cute!

@@MaeMaeTownit actually confirms it in the episode where eggman and sonic go on that game show. eggman calls amy sonic's "girlfriend" to which sonic says, "she's not my girlfriend" and then after that the game show's little incorrect buzzer thing plays which was basically telling us that what sonic said wasn't true.
How you view Sonic's response in Frontiers is interesting to me :o I personally saw it as Sonic conveying to Amy that he's not going to leave her behind, even if she is gone for awhile, which I think is the thing she's most worried about. When Amy gets back from her adventures, Sonic *wants* to see and talk to her again. In my dumb little shipping brain, "I wanna hear all about it when you come back" translates to "I wanna see you again". I think it's a fitting response for a character like him and his way of assuring her that he'll still be there when she returns. I'm very curious to see the Sonic Movieverse's eventual take on SonAmy. Given that movie Sonic is MUCH more open with his emotions and lives in a very domestic setting with parents that openly love each other, I wonder if they'll switch their dynamics and he'll develop a crush on Amy first. He's already met another hedgehog, but now this would be his first *female* hedgehog, (realistically) the only viable partner of his species that he's ever met. If movie Sonic's already a teenager, then he may start dealing with puberty lol, I can absolutely see Tom trying to give him a father-son talk on dating advice and how to impress a girl. XD

On of the reasons I love Sonamy (specifically Boom!Sonamy) is because they remind me SO much of Amy Santiago and Jake Peralta from Brooklyn nine-nine. They’re so precious.
I do love that scene in Frontiers. My take on it is Sonic supporting Amy’s dream. He knows she’s someone who can do anything to she sets her mind to, even if it saddens him that they might not see each other for a while. Sonic wants everyone to have freedom, especially his friends. But he doesn’t say anything about how he feels because he doesn’t want to hold Amy back. If he says something, she might not take that step. Amy has been waiting for so long, now it’s Sonic’s turn. I do love Sonic Boom! It’s my favorite Sonic show, and it was what really got me into Sonamy when I got into the franchise.

This was a fun video, but as a person who’s read IDW, I personally believe Sonic is still a great fit for Amy. First of all (no offense to any Shadamy shippers) Shadow would overwhelm Amy and she’d have to use so much of her energy to keep him happy. Shadow would benefit from it, but Amy might be emotionally drained with Shadow. She needs someone who’s on the same wavelength as her so she can emotionally function properly. Someone who can share the same brain cells. Not saying this works for everyone of course but for Amy, to me, Sonic is the best choice. Second, in IDW you can tell the pink and blue hedgehog don’t always have to fully express themselves out loud to know how each other is feeling. Amy can read Sonic like a book and I don’t think she minds him being shy. In my opinion, they wouldn’t need Sonic to have a love confession or anything because Amy will accept him regardless. I'd think their relationship would just…happen. The apple of Sonamy is their subtly after all.
I totally agree about the shadow/Amy part. I feel so many fans of the ship truly want the "good girl" to fix the boy but i feel they miss the point. Like many times write Amy completely changing her lifestyle for him, everything for but what about her?

I agree with the Shadow and Amy. Amy just seems like she would make him happy and if but I don't ship them like lovers I hope they become bestiesss and amy doesn't seem him as a villain. Also Amy and Shadow being very close might spark some jealousy from Sonic and could get us more scenes where Sonic hints at having a crush on Amy.

Ok listen lady if you pay attention to Amy’s body language, face gesture and tone when she said that line, it kinda gives it away that she looked or sounded jealous. Believe me, my parents have been after me about my body language and it’s so irritating. But that’s how life is and we got to be careful on how we say it. In other words, Sonic can read Amy like an open book.
In the context of the episode in Sonic Boom where Sonic tries to impress the purple girl, basically the episode is the three of them giving their perspectives on what happened, this is Sonic's perspective. Amy's is that the girl is basically a whore, pretending to be hurt to attract the attention of boys who, in Amy's perspective, act completely stupid towards her. As for Knuckles, he paints himself as super strong and cool while Sonic is a complete idiot and Amy is into him. In the end it is revealed that none of these perspectives are real and it is all just a fantasy that the three invented in their heads based on the initial impressions they had of the girl, She's the one who explains what really happened to Tails and even flirts with him (which is a little weird because in this show he already has a girlfriend I think?)So, Sonic is kind of acting weird because everyone else is acting weird the whole episode, with Sticks being the only character the whole episode only appearing for a second in every story saying some different nonsense and then running away screaming.
I think this is a good space and i try to understand the appeal of shadamy as a sonamy fan. I would love to read differents POVS I think what i don't understand is the FANON POV, i feel many fans care so much that shadow has someone that only gives him love, someone that fits him, his lifestyle his philosophy but I feel many fans forget about Amy in some kind of way. Amy in almost all shadamy spaces has to adapt to shadow, treat Amy as soon to be shadow psychologist thanks to her kind nature, write her as a "I can fix him" girl and I feel fans only see a "bad boy x good girl". I think so many forget shadow is an unstable guy with so much trauma to heal, a guy not to open with feelings, who doesn't understand it less romance. He has like almost the same flaws as sonic but in a more traumatic level. If sonic already has a lot trouble to understand romantic feelings shadow is worst 😂 he won't be that "uwu bad boy that's actually a good guy but has so much trauma the girl has to fix his problems" at this moment , I can't see how shadow can treat her better, it needs more than ticket concerts 😅 But I can see a beautiful friendship towards shadow and Amy. Shadow can see Amy is sincere with herself and she truly cares for her friends and he appreciates it. Maybe 'cause i headcanon shadow as asexual 'cause I feel he hasn't showed romantic interest in no one. my nad if this ended being a long thread :D
For sonics response in frontiers i took it as him saying to amy to tell him about all her new adventures when she gets back, waiting for her i guess. 😅 I kinda wish you went into more detail about Twitter takeover as there were more moments od sonic being visibly shy about his feelings for amy snd tails and or shadow teasing him about it , like when shadow is like "are you running away from your feelings now too sonic?" Showing that the rest of the cast can see his feelings for amy but him , which i think is super cuteee. Also shadow being like if i were sonic i would go up to amy and say hey amy im sonic and im stupid, immediately sonic is like dont bring her into this , i thought me and you agreed too. Something like that almost like shadow is like teasing him to just tell his true feelings.lol

This modern era of the Sonic franchise seems to convey 2 things: 1. Less is more. Clearly, SonAmy fans (and even non-shippers in the fandom) are loving the more passive, slow-burn portrayal of the ship we’ve been getting recently. It ironically makes the notion of their romance more thrilling than when Amy was so direct with her feelings toward Sonic in the past lol. 2. A girl can only be forward for so long before the guy needs to man tf up and take initiative. And on that note, I can agree with you that SonAmy may not properly work until Sonic emotionally matures. But to be fair, they *are* still pretty young lol, and girls tend to mature faster than boys at that age anyway. Overall, I think the writers should keep going in this direction for these two; keep building up their subtle, slow-burn moments in games/shows until hopefully, at some point in the future, it feels like they're wholeheartedly ready to commit to each other. Not sure what approach they'll take with the movies though; ideally a similar one, especially if the rumor that even the movies are "growing with the audience" is true.

Amy's version is Perci using her femme wiles to get Sonic and Knuckles to wait on her hand and foot. While Knuckles versions has him as a almost James bond like character, well spoken. Perci version has Sonic and Knuckles acting like idiots and Amy look down at here the entire time.

You nailed it so well. It's so tricky because as you've said, I don't see Sonic maturing or even giving Amy what she needs in a relationship. She deserves better and I wouldn't blame her if she moved on, even if it would break my shipper's heart. I also really enjoy Shadamy mostly because a healed Shadow looks quite compatible with a matured Amy. Ultimately, Amy deserves to receive as much love and dedication as she gives to everyone. I started liking Sonamy after watching Sonic Boom because of how they matured Amy. Before then, I didn't. Amy crushing on Sonic and him running away all of the time got old real quick. No hate towards her as a character, but seeing how they portrayed Amy in the Boom Universe appealed to me more than the prior version. I don't think the show and games did enough of that for Sonic yet, though. So, I hope he gets some more development on that front (should they choose to go in that route, that is) before they make them canon.

But for real though, this video is absolutely everything that I think about when I go to sleep or daydreaming. I swear, I sometimes just get riled up whenever I think about these two fictional hedgehogs. Since knowing her character, Amy has been my number one favorite character. I love her SA2 personality because she is just A GIRL 💕💕 I used to have a bit of a difficult time getting in touch with my "feminine" side when I was a kid and still kinda do, but I've always been a romantic. There's this one episode in Sonic Boom where Sticks even names the village to honor Amy ( I think Hedgehog Village) and before Sticks even told the gang why she named it "Hedgehog Village", Sonic immediately thinks its about him. Like BRO 😭 That's why I loved when you called out Sonic because it is SO TRUE. Amy deserves someone who will value her and respect her. She is such a good character who has her flaws but will always do what she believes is right out of love. She doesn't have to lose her feminine or romantic side to be a badass character. Boom (Show) and Frontiers Amy is definitely my favorite because she is mature, silly, sweet, lovable, and independent but I still love her in the older games because she is just so adorable

I love boom Amy but I wish Amy wasn’t as shy about sonic. It’s kinda more basic. A very fun part of Amy’s personality is that she’s an open book and loves talking about feelings or being vulnerable. I think it would make sense that she stops bc she sees it makes him shy or embarrassed.
@@lala-jd6em that’s a good point - and I agree I think she views their feelings for each other as really sacred and maybe she wants them to be revealed in the “perfect” most comfortable way for both of them, but that moment just never comes. Because there are plenty of moments in Sonic Boom where they’re hanging out alone, but it never comes out. I think they both are desperately trying to protect the sanctity of their friendship but they also can’t deny there’s more. Haha it’s sort of a “two to tango” situation but neither of them are ready to take that next step out of fear, immaturity, etc.
Sonic Boom is funny as hell, but Sonamy in it and Takeovers became so generic. Obviously, obsessing over someone, whether it's a believable teenager behavior or not, isn't healthy, I wish they kept Amy's confidence in expressing her feelings but made it mature, kinda like late days Archie did. I think majority of fandom truly missed the point of boom. Sonic boom is a parody of the franchise and in general topics. The characters act the other way around to the real versions (Game version) That's what boom!Amy is so different from og Amy. And seeing how fandom and many sonamy fans thinks she is better than og Amy for dumb reasons (not being "obsessed" [girl has a gigant Sonic plushie but yeah not obsessed 'cause jOKes but fandom couldn't handle the physical comedy of Sonic x] made fans believe she is the "boys mom" of the group when she is the one who starts chaos in canon alongside boys. I can't speak for all guys but I think men feel fear. They feel fear of breaking the illusion. Sonic is just afraid that once he opens up to Amy, the way she sees him will change.

With fire in a crowded workshop, the scenes with amy and knuckles being clowned on by sinic are him telling the story from his perspective. Amys side still projects a bit of jealousy though
I don’t know the canon age of classic Sonic but the canon age of classic Amy is 8, modern Amy is 12 and modern Sonic is 15, taking that logic back classic Sonic should be 11 give or take
2:39 lovely video so far, and I promise I'll watch it till the end cus this is such a minor point, but Sonic and Amy in the games are canonically 16 and 12-13, respectively. Sonic is solid locked-in 16, because he was 15 from Sonic 1 on the Genesis all the way until Sonic Colors, he had a canonical on-screen birthday in Sonic Generations, so he went from 15 to 16 there, and he's been 16 ever since. As for Amy, she's been 12 since at least Sonic Heroes, and I'd say she'd probably be 13 as of at least Forces-Frontiers, despite not having an on-screen birthday like Sonic did just to make it not seem like too weird an age gap and her increased level of maturity since the days of Unleashed and prior.
Loved this! And agreed, I’m both a Sonamy and Shadamy shipper, so while I love the tension with Sonic and Amy, his childish retreats from that deeper connection make me appreciate the soft moments with Amy and Shadow. Either way though, I’ve been getting fed so well lately 😊

I sometimes feel left out by the same sonamy community (specially the west one) 'cause I don't agree with many general opinions about Amy (long thread sorry not sorry ) As a non English speaker, I feel so many from English sides tend to always put in a pedestal the american version of everything from Sonic (the localization, the one who truly affected Amy's character) and say "Amy was always an obsessive girl" or that she was always a fangirl (not true) and no. Amy never was created to be obsessed with Sonic, that was a consequence of the terrible localization for the western public And it truly makes me sad how SO MANY FANS Even sonamy fans celebrate how Amy is now "more mature"(noticed how fans always want the girl to be mature and the boys never get this😬) But as a general question... why you want Amy be the mature one? I recommend many fans to watch sonic x with the japanese audio and subtitles. There's so much who was missed thanks to the localization and in general to search about sonic in it's original form (japanese) Japan has a different culture than the west and that includes romance and how Amy was created. Hoshino (one of Amy's creators) never created her to be "obsessed" with sonic. She was created to be a girl with qualities such as being spunky, energetic, full of love abd life, desire of adventure haste boredom, all this qualities Sonic has so they can match. That's why Amy doesn't have a title or is princesss so she can be alongside sonic and co for adventures. Loce how sonic and Amy are so simmilar yer different (Amy believes your destiny already exist (ex, real soulmates), sonic believe you have to create your own destiny. Or like the fangirl one, also never planed to be that, it was a terrible consequence of localization A fangirl is someone who admires someone in a big level, a person who doesn't have a friendship with the other one, almost like a parasocial relationship, that's nor what Amy is. This was a great essay! I am also very happy to find more female creators that can match our level of freak lol Here's my hot take: personally I prefer the Japanese dub in Amy's case (since it's the only other dub that can be considered official alongside the English one). I find her more believable as a 12-13 year old and there's a certain cuteness and sweetness to her delivery that makes the character come off as much more likable to me, even with the same dialogues. I also hope movie Amy is able to keep her own unique quirkiness and her feelings for Sonic as opposed to being turned into a more "mature" version of herself. I feel like it would be too easy for her to end up turning into another version of the same cookie cutter animated female leads we've seen so often in the last decade (see Rapunzel, Anna, Moana, Asha, movie Princess Peach, etc.). Mildly quirky, badass fighter, longs for adventure, radiates positiveness, believes in the power of love...she already shares those traits, but she stands out because she's also quick-tempered, she acts before thinking, is very open about her feelings (be it sadness, anger, happiness, embarrassment...), is stubborn, etc. When portrayed fairly, those traits are actually great qualities. And when they're flaws, if portrayed correctly, they actually make her more relatable. But I have hope in the writing team since in movie 3 I noticed especially with Knuckles they did a fantastic job by giving him moments where his flaws were portrayed as positive traits.

How you view Sonic's response in Frontiers is interesting to me :o
I personally saw it as Sonic conveying to Amy that he's not going to leave her behind, even if she is gone for awhile, which I think is the thing she's most worried about. When Amy gets back from her adventures, Sonic *wants* to see and talk to her again. In my dumb little shipping brain, "I wanna hear all about it when you come back" translates to "I wanna see you again". I think it's a fitting response for a character like him and his way of assuring her that he'll still be there when she returns.
I'm very curious to see the Sonic Movieverse's eventual take on SonAmy. Given that movie Sonic is MUCH more open with his emotions and lives in a very domestic setting with parents that openly love each other, I wonder if they'll switch their dynamics and he'll develop a crush on Amy first. He's already met another hedgehog, but now this would be his first *female* hedgehog, (realistically) the only viable partner of his species that he's ever met. If movie Sonic's already a teenager, then he may start dealing with puberty lol, I can absolutely see Tom trying to give him a father-son talk on dating advice and how to impress a girl. XD

On of the reasons I love Sonamy (specifically Boom!Sonamy) is because they remind me SO much of Amy Santiago and Jake Peralta from Brooklyn nine-nine. They’re so precious.
I do love that scene in Frontiers. My take on it is Sonic supporting Amy’s dream. He knows she’s someone who can do anything to she sets her mind to, even if it saddens him that they might not see each other for a while. Sonic wants everyone to have freedom, especially his friends. But he doesn’t say anything about how he feels because he doesn’t want to hold Amy back. If he says something, she might not take that step. Amy has been waiting for so long, now it’s Sonic’s turn.
I do love Sonic Boom! It’s my favorite Sonic show, and it was what really got me into Sonamy when I got into the franchise.

This was a fun video, but as a person who’s read IDW, I personally believe Sonic is still a great fit for Amy. First of all (no offense to any Shadamy shippers) Shadow would overwhelm Amy and she’d have to use so much of her energy to keep him happy. Shadow would benefit from it, but Amy might be emotionally drained with Shadow.
She needs someone who’s on the same wavelength as her so she can emotionally function properly. Someone who can share the same brain cells. Not saying this works for everyone of course but for Amy, to me, Sonic is the best choice. Second, in IDW you can tell the pink and blue hedgehog don’t always have to fully express themselves out loud to know how each other is feeling. Amy can read Sonic like a book and I don’t think she minds him being shy. In my opinion, they wouldn’t need Sonic to have a love confession or anything because Amy will accept him regardless. I'd think their relationship would just…happen. The apple of Sonamy is their subtly after all.

In the context of the episode in Sonic Boom where Sonic tries to impress the purple girl, basically the episode is the three of them giving their perspectives on what happened, this is Sonic's perspective. Amy's is that the girl is basically a whore, pretending to be hurt to attract the attention of boys who, in Amy's perspective, act completely stupid towards her. As for Knuckles, he paints himself as super strong and cool while Sonic is a complete idiot and Amy is into him. In the end it is revealed that none of these perspectives are real and it is all just a fantasy that the three invented in their heads based on the initial impressions they had of the girl, She's the one who explains what really happened to Tails and even flirts with him (which is a little weird because in this show he already has a girlfriend I think?)So, Sonic is kind of acting weird because everyone else is acting weird the whole episode, with Sticks being the only character the whole episode only appearing for a second in every story saying some different nonsense and then running away screaming.
I think this is a good space and i try to understand the appeal of shadamy as a sonamy fan. I would love to read differents POVS
I think what i don't understand is the FANON POV, i feel many fans care so much that shadow has someone that only gives him love, someone that fits him, his lifestyle his philosophy but I feel many fans forget about Amy in some kind of way. Amy in almost all shadamy spaces has to adapt to shadow, treat Amy as soon to be shadow psychologist thanks to her kind nature, write her as a "I can fix him" girl and I feel fans only see a "bad boy x good girl". I think so many forget shadow is an unstable guy with so much trauma to heal, a guy not to open with feelings, who doesn't understand it less romance. He has like almost the same flaws as sonic but in a more traumatic level. If sonic already has a lot trouble to understand romantic feelings shadow is worst 😂 he won't be that "uwu bad boy that's actually a good guy but has so much trauma the girl has to fix his problems" at this moment , I can't see how shadow can treat her better, it needs more than ticket concerts 😅

For sonics response in frontiers i took it as him saying to amy to tell him about all her new adventures when she gets back, waiting for her i guess. 😅 I kinda wish you went into more detail about Twitter takeover as there were more moments od sonic being visibly shy about his feelings for amy snd tails and or shadow teasing him about it , like when shadow is like "are you running away from your feelings now too sonic?" Showing that the rest of the cast can see his feelings for amy but him , which i think is super cuteee. This modern era of the Sonic franchise seems to convey 2 things:
1. Less is more. Clearly, SonAmy fans (and even non-shippers in the fandom) are loving the more passive, slow-burn portrayal of the ship we’ve been getting recently. It ironically makes the notion of their romance more thrilling than when Amy was so direct with her feelings toward Sonic in the past lol.
2. A girl can only be forward for so long before the guy needs to man tf up and take initiative. And on that note, I can agree with you that SonAmy may not properly work until Sonic emotionally matures. But to be fair, they *are* still pretty young lol, and girls tend to mature faster than boys at that age anyway.
Overall, I think the writers should keep going in this direction for these two; keep building up their subtle, slow-burn moments in games/shows until hopefully, at some point in the future, it feels like they're wholeheartedly ready to commit to each other. Not sure what approach they'll take with the movies though; ideally a similar one, especially if the rumor that even the movies are "growing with the audience" is true.

I started liking Sonamy after watching Sonic Boom because of how they matured Amy. Before then, I didn't. Amy crushing on Sonic and him running away all of the time got old real quick. No hate towards her as a character, but seeing how they portrayed Amy in the Boom Universe appealed to me more than the prior version. I don't think the show and games did enough of that for Sonic yet, though. So, I hope he gets some more development on that front (should they choose to go in that route, that is) before they make them canon.

But for real though, this video is absolutely everything that I think about when I go to sleep or daydreaming. I swear, I sometimes just get riled up whenever I think about these two fictional hedgehogs. Since knowing her character, Amy has been my number one favorite character. She is such a good character who has her flaws but will always do what she believes is right out of love. She doesn't have to lose her feminine or romantic side to be a badass character. I don’t know the canon age of classic Sonic but the canon age of classic Amy is 8, modern Amy is 12 and modern Sonic is 15, taking that logic back classic Sonic should be 11 give or take
2:39 lovely video so far, and I promise I'll watch it till the end cus this is such a minor point, but Sonic and Amy in the games are canonically 16 and 12-13, respectively.
Sonic is solid locked-in 16, because he was 15 from Sonic 1 on the Genesis all the way until Sonic Colors, he had a canonical on-screen birthday in Sonic Generations, so he went from 15 to 16 there, and he's been 16 ever since.
As for Amy, she's been 12 since at least Sonic Heroes, and I'd say she'd probably be 13 as of at least Forces-Frontiers, despite not having an on-screen birthday like Sonic did just to make it not seem like too weird an age gap and her increased level of maturity since the days of Unleashed and prior.

As a non English speaker, I feel so many from English sides tend to always put in a pedestal the american version of everything from Sonic (the localization, the one who truly affected Amy's character) and say "Amy was always an obsessive girl" or that she was always a fangirl (not true) and no. Amy never was created to be obsessed with Sonic, that was a consequence of the terrible localization for the western public
And it truly makes me sad how SO MANY FANS Even sonamy fans celebrate how Amy is now "more mature"(noticed how fans always want the girl to be mature and the boys never get this😬)
But as a general question... why you want Amy be the mature one? So she can be the "group mom"? :/
Since the beggining Amy was created to be a silly, spunky, energetic girl (like, that's what she was called Rosy the rascal)
I recommend many fans to watch sonic x with the japanese audio and subtitles. There's so much who was missed thanks to the localization and in general to search about sonic in it's original form (japanese) Japan has a different culture than the west and that includes romance and how Amy was created. Hoshino (one of Amy's creators) never created her to be "obsessed" with sonic. She was created to be a girl with qualities such as being spunky, energetic, full of love abd life, desire of adventure haste boredom, all this qualities Sonic has so they can match. That's why Amy doesn't have a title or is princesss so she can be alongside sonic and co for adventures. Loce how sonic and Amy are so simmilar yer different (Amy believes your destiny already exist (ex, real soulmates), sonic believe you have to create your own destiny. Or like the fangirl one, also never planed to be that, it was a terrible consequence of localization
A fangirl is someone who admires someone in a big level, a person who doesn't have a friendship with the other one, almost like a parasocial relationship, that's nor what Amy is. Since adventure amy and sonic are friends, the japanese version sonic is so soft with her in which never showed her to be annoyed by her but showed to truly want to help her on the contrary with USA who made him an asshole(???)
I think so many fans specially sonamy fans are missing so much juice from this ship. Sonic cares for her, he has a crush with her. He id more an action guy than a word guy.

Game sonamy dynamic works because Sonic is more a force of nature who does not want or need to stop, he is always on the move
Naoto Ohshima made Amy to make up for that, a girlfriend for Sonic, Sonic not having to stop because there is someone who is already Following him wherever he goes

Here's my hot take: personally I prefer the Japanese dub in Amy's case (since it's the only other dub that can be considered official alongside the English one). I find her more believable as a 12-13 year old and there's a certain cuteness and sweetness to her delivery that makes the character come off as much more likable to me, even with the same dialogues.
I also hope movie Amy is able to keep her own unique quirkiness and her feelings for Sonic as opposed to being turned into a more "mature" version of herself. I feel like it would be too easy for her to end up turning into another version of the same cookie cutter animated female leads we've seen so often in the last decade (see Rapunzel, Anna, Moana, Asha, movie Princess Peach, etc.). Mildly quirky, badass fighter, longs for adventure, radiates positiveness, believes in the power of love...she already shares those traits, but she stands out because she's also quick-tempered, she acts before thinking, is very open about her feelings (be it sadness, anger, happiness, embarrassment...), is stubborn, etc. When portrayed fairly, those traits are actually great qualities. And when they're flaws, if portrayed correctly, they actually make her more relatable. But I have hope in the writing team since in movie 3 I noticed especially with Knuckles they did a fantastic job by giving him moments where his flaws were portrayed as positive traits.

I really love Sonic X Amy - her voice and personality are so iconic haha but I also love the more recent traits that they’ve given her so hopefully they can combine the best of both in movie 4! And I was sooo happy with Knuckles character development in Sonic 3 - he’s really becoming such a grounded friend in the group and when they throw Amy into the mix, things are gonna get even better! ☺️ also so happy you found your way here too! Sorry, I don’t agree with the shadamy part. I think majority of fandom misunderstoods shadow as this “uwu sweet bean that needs to be protected” and forget he is still learning from his past and his own person and he is not that sweet boy, he is like the second least open character next tonsonic who many times end being an asshole conscious or unconscious (thanks to him Sonic forces fiasco happens)
On the other side, I think many western fans misunderstood so much Amy and sonamy (including this video sorry imo 😢)

Honestly there are just so many things wrong here, but basically you’re both a fake Amy fan and sonamy fan because you don’t get the character or their dynamic at all! Like are you serious using sonic boom that is completely disconnected to the main versions and some stupid sitcom and saying it’s the best version! You literally chose all the worst things to show sonamy, no sonic x no Sonic idw no unleashed or even 2006. This was just a disappointment.
