Brilliant video mate. I am not a medical student or related to medicine in any way. But the video was very clear and to the point. All the best on your TH-cam journey. Let's see this channel grow. Good luck!
Can you help me please? im currently a second year medical student in Morocco and want to know if it's possible for me to pursue my medical studies in Cambridge to be a specialist after my graduation here in Morocco, and I want to know if there are any tests that I must provide to be admitted ( so I can prepare for the tests). Do I have to start all over. Thank you
Hey I found your youtube channel on reddit and I had to come support. And I think you're actually doing great. Keep up the good work! I am your newest supporter.
Thank you very much, Marcus! I am a 22 year-old art student who is interested in pursuing a psychology major and Cambridge came across my research for “best schools”. I have been there and visited this really beautiful, nice and peaceful place when I was 13. I dreamed about living in there, and I think maybe there I have a chance to take in action for chasing my dream. Don’t take me wrong, I love my major. Digital media with a focus on concept art. We are the designers who created your movies and video games! It’s is just me myself, want to be a life-long scholar. I want to hold the knowledge of psychology, to better understand about myself and other people. Your video is really nice and gentle. I quite enjoyed it. It feels impressive to me that I am now learning from someone younger than I am and taking you as a role model. (Usually I learn from peers and admire to elders, lol)! But I know it’s a good thing. Anyway, I want to let you know that I am grateful of your video! Thank you for sharing out the experience. It gave me courage, helpful tips and just great feelings. Please keep up the good work, and wish one day we can become alumnus together! (Or I find a better fit!) : )
Amazing achievement, you'll be great at med school! :) Did you do any research projects e.g. EPQs, to add to your personal statement on top of your work experience?
First of all, thank you for making these videos, they are just excellent: informative and concise. My question is, what were your IB predicted/actual grades (especially bio&chem)?
I got 44 total, with HL: Bio(7), Chem(7) and Econ(7) and then SL: Maths(7), Spanish B(7) and english lit(6) with an A in TOK and EE. Glad you liked the video! If you are interested in a more detailed rundown of my predicted grades check out my second video on my predicted grades.
hi! if you don’t mind, may you make a video on how you wrote your personal statement/relevant experiences and any tips you have, or if you wouldn’t mind reading them? thank you very much!!
Hi! I am planning on doing exactly that. I don't know exactly how much detail I will put into the PS but I am definitely planning on making at least on video on it.
Thanks for this video it was quite helpful! how many points did u have when u applied? and did u get a conditional offer before the exams? also were you able to achieve the grades that u got for your predicted ones during the end of the DP? sorry for all the questions its just rare to find someone who has done the IB accepted to Cambridge on yt ahah
Hi, no problem, I’m glad to help. I am a May 2020 student, so I am getting my final results in about a month, and I haven’t done any exams for obvious reasons. I will hopefully be able to get the same grades as I was predicted, it’s all up to the IB for now I guess... I was predicted 44 points and my offer is for 42 points with 776. I haven’t made my offer as of now, but I will know if I will be going there as soon as I get my final results. If you have any more questions feel free to ask away, I am happy to help!
@@MarkosDrakosthanks for the reply ^^ oh wow! That's amazing! 44 points... damn And yes hopefully u get the points u were predicted and good luck :) I have 42 predicted rn but not 776 at HL so we'll see but thx again for the help 😄
Hey, I did 2 weeks worth of medical WE at a hospital as well as two weeks at BIYSC, a sorta science camp thingy. I also volunteered for about 2 years giving food in less fortunate neighborhoods and 3 months in a centre for disabled people. Hope this helps!
I did the base GCSE's plus Portuguese, French, computer science, geography and AS maths(our school lets us do 3 modules of a-level maths during our GCSE's) I didn't do A-levels, I did IB where I picked chem, bio, economics, maths, english literature and spanish.
It ain’t cheap to be going to medical school. Besides the tuition, how do you fare paying the rent each month, especially if it’s in NYC or LAX? They’re like around $2,500+ each month. I feel like med students contributes the most to our US economy, borrowing and lending $250,000 and that’s just from one person. Who pays for YOUR rent and boarding and food and car payments?
Hey is ucat and bmat compulsory exams for university of Cambridge? Do international students have to sit for the exam as well? How much does it cost totally?
I don't think there are any prescribed subjects for this as getting scholarships in the UK is extremely competitive. I'd say pick the subjects you will most enjoy, and go from there.
Hey love the video and well done on cambridge. Do you think your ucat was a disadvantage when applying for Edinburgh? Because I got 2900 and band 2 and was told not to apply because apparently Edinburgh only let interview top 10% of those who apply and I wouldn’t make it. Really worried because I love the uni
Thank you!! It was a disadvantage to a certain extent. You do need a good UCAT for edinburgh generally, but once you get an interview they don't care too much about it, but I would say it did kinda hinder me? That being said, I got an interview and offer being an EU student and with a 12th% UCAT so anything is possible really.
UCAT is the University Clinical Aptitude Test and it is basically an exam that 6th form students need to take in order to get into some medical schools in the UK. Thank you! glad you liked it!
Thanks for the video. I just wanted to know if you were accepted to kings with your ucat score, and if so what were your gcses? (Im thinking of applying)
Honestly, it is really hard to stand out, and often it is just the grades that will get you in. The best way to stand out is to really show your thinking capacity in interview, so that interviewers can get a sense of you that isn't numbers on a page
Do you have to have a degree already to go to medical school like in biology or chemistry or can yo just apply to medical school with your a level results?
In the UK, you usually apply with your A Levels. If you decide you want to go into medicine later in life, however, there are graduate entry courses for people that have already gotten a degree. Hope this helps! :)
Hey, thanks! I decided on my college based on location and reputation. I already knew someone who was studying medicine at Clare college, and they told me that it was known to be super friendly and just a great place. Plus, it is right on the river and is one of the most beautiful colleges(imo), so I chose Clare!
Well, I applied as an EU student (pre-Brexit), meaning I was competing against home students. Applying to UK schools, particularly Cambridge, is far more competitive for international students, so I was really lucky to have been in the last cohort before Brexit rules applied.
@@MarkosDrakosThank you so much for the answer! I am an EU student and apparently it’s very hard. I just wanted to know if you knew if it was doable for EU students nowadays?
Meh, not hugely. You probably just need the basics, anything less that 4A*s might get noticed, but anything more and it shouldn't make a difference at all.
Hi , My predicted grades are A* in chemistry and maths and A in biology ?? Is there a realistic change of getting into Cambridge though I meet the minimum requirement and A is in biology ??
I'm sure it should be fine. As long as you have A*s in the important subjects, since you will need those grades for your A-level or equivalent, and if you didn't get them in GCSE then it's unlikely you will in A-level.
Hey guys ,Can you help me please? im currently a second year medical student in Morocco and want to know if it's possible for me to pursue my medical studies in Cambridge to be a specialist after my graduation here in Morocco, and I want to know if there are any tests that I must provide to be admitted ( so I can prepare for the tests). Do I have to start my studies all over? Thank you.
Ummmm I am unsure about this, since I don't now much about graduate entry for medicine. It is unusual for someone to do the medicine course twice since it is such a large course. However, I'm sure you can pursue another course of study here at cambridge past your basic degree. If you wanted to start over then you would do an accelerated course of study taking 5 years but it would start from the beginning. if not, you can do a phD o something. Doing your specialty doesn't happen in universities, you do those in hospitals already, so if you were to move to cambridge and do it in a cambridge hospital then sure, but it wouldn't be the university of cambridge.
Can I write you in chat , like instagram or some social media apps ? I have a lot of questions about Robinson collage and the medicine school at Cambridge, and I am very interested
