Josh, Jake, Sammy, and Danny - the Starcatcher tour performances showcase just how far the band has evolved and what absolutely brilliant musicians each of you are... keep it going!!✌️🙏
At the show I attended (Milwaukee, May 21), Jake didn't go to the rear platform close to the fire. During the extended guitar solo, Josh took the time to go around the whole front and sides of the pit to shake hands and get close to the audience. I was sitting in a location similar to where this video may have been taken from (second row from end of the stage right catwalk (left side of stage for the audience)). It seems they adjusted as the tour progressed to see what worked best. Oh and those fire effects give off a lot of heat, we could feel it at our seating location.
Sam has a new Rickenbacker Bass the same color as his old Fender . Jake is playing a Gibson 335 he bought at the Chicago Music Exchange . It was one of first 3 built with those options . Amazing Song.
I just looked up the guitar, and it’s actually a 1959 Gibson ES-355 VOS with a bigsby. And the price for the guitar is $4,999.00. $4,999.00😳 That’s a lot of money…
@@michaelsaville9985probably went for something in the $20k price range if it’s a proper vintage example. You can tell it’s an early 60’s example (probably a ‘61) because it has the shorter pickguard. ‘58s & ‘59s have the longer pickguard that goes slightly past the bridge posts. My guess is that the guitar had been rewired in Mono, because some 355s left the factory with stock stereo wiring.
@@batshitmasterplan I’m really curious to know how well it stays in tune. He only uses it for the one song which is like 10 minutes but they do play The Archer every show. The interview they did with Sweetwater didn’t answer a lot of questions. 🤔
@@michaelsaville9985 I would assume it stays in tune pretty well. A well cut nut & set of saddles is really the key to keeping a Bigsby in tune. Besides, it’s safe to assume Jake’s tech is one of the best in the business. Also, the bridge doesn’t have nylon saddles if anyone is wondering. The nylon saddles didn’t start showing up on 335s/345s/355s until 1962
Thank you for this great video! I was there! I don't know what kind of technical issue or problem Josh had in the beginning that caused them to have to wing it for awhile there but they absolutely made up for it!
It seems that this was recorded with a camera that has a zoom lens, not a phone, so video and audio looks and sounds much better. At the show I attended (Milwaukee, May 21), Josh's banter between songs sounded clear to me, so it's really the phone or camera used that can't capture it well in videos on YT.
One of their best performances of the archer. On 🔥

The way Jake just sets the mood for the Archer immediately Just love this masterpiece
Absolutely mind blowing The Archer 🥵 So much heat and power 😮
They are all so talented and their music is so beautiful. I saw them in Saint Paul over a week ago and still in awe. Thanks for the video!

That beautifully haunting piano and then Josh inserts that bit of Melanie’s song from the 70s? OMG

Is it a 335 or 345? If he had a 335 with a bigsby and tone switch, I can’t imagine the price tag. 🫣

Great show! Thanks Jim
Just love this and where it starts at 6:09 to the end is fabulous
Damn, what a badass jam! Smoking guitar solo, even Frank Marino would be impressed.

Josh's words are easy to understand in this clip. Wonderful! I always find his commentaries so muffled, usually.

I remember the days cell phones weren’t allowed to be turned on at shows 🙄
Jake is hot??🔥
I think they all are!
Josh stop teasing....lol
Why is there a genie?
