The fact that Faye or Ashley didn't win the competition shows that the best dancers don't always win SCD. Faye's musicality is clearly so natural to her (like that of so many professional dancers) and her technical prowess went from strength to strength through the season.
Even in quarantine Fayes strap should be snapped as her beauty deserves and as the song says she fills her clothes beautifully. The way she swirls her dress is also beyond words...what a stunner she remains.
Loved, loved, loved this!! Honestly can’t see what else the judges were looking for? The dance optimises what the jive is supposed to be, quick flicks, kicks and swing. Agreed with Bruno the styling was spot on, they acted and danced it very well. Really warming to Faye, I usually have an automatic dislike to celebs with a dance background ( even if it is pop), I’m definitely about the journey. However Faye and Ashley are stunning!,!
Faye you are my favourite! When the show started I wasn’t all that keen, but after her spellbinding Jazz I am now obsessed! Go all the way Faye! Immaculate!
My my, this was a COMPLEX routine. And Faye really sold it! I love the 50’s sort of stylization. Her kicks and flicks were very well done, and the energy was upheld throughout (I don’t know how she even did it!). I loved the side by side kick sequence, but would have loved a little more partner work. A lot of this routine was complex solo kicks and Jive-esque movement, and would have loved some more “in hold” (not ballroom hold, but you get the idea). Still, what a fantastic performance! These two are glowing! 9.5!
Totally agree with you regarding the considerable lack of in hold choreography. Usually, routines on scd and dwts seem to have little jive kicks and flicks. This one though seemed to have too much of that lol. I do think that Faye needs to produce a showstopper soon though, as she has taken a backseat to Ashley these last couple of weeks.
Hasan Ramadan yes, Ashley has outshined her for a little now. I would have loved if it would have had the same ratio as Zendaya’s Jive in Season 16 of DWTS. Good amount of partner work, with some lovely side by side kick sequences thrown in. I would have loved to see Faye perform something like that choreography. But this isn’t bad! I just thought it could have been a little better.
Faye is OUTSTANDING. so natural, graceful and elegant. Great timing, energy and i cannot understand why she didn't win. I think the judges forget how good some of the previous celbs were after hearing the recent comments.
So much was going on here and I loved it! A great mixture of basic yet complex steps and Faye executed them brilliantly. I'd only say that very occasionally she lost the sharpness of her kicks and flicks but overall, very impressive, and the best jive this series so far! 9.
Gosh! Gio! This is SO complex a routine! You are evil! LOL But Faye coped with it SO well. I like that slight ‘hesitation’ in the kicks and flicks in the beginning of the routine (when the singer goes 'Oh Oh Oh Oh!"). Wonderful energy and clean routine from beginning to the end. If I have to be picky, then I would say I don’t really like the beginning bit before they start the actual proper jive routine. But (with Gio's accent and inflection) ‘THANK YOU!’ for this beautifully choreographed jive routine! 9.5!
I find it very difficult to say why, but I didn't like this routine. It was very clean and nice - perhaps that's why? Her spinning kick ball changes lacked the kick element. She was just straightening her leg a bit. On occasion she was a bit upright, which makes a jive look heavy even though it's clearly not. And for once, I felt absolutely no connection between Faye and Gio on the floor. (Actually, it's made me review their previous dances and I think that's a problem they've had a lot. Good connection, but not great. Not like he had with Debbeh - there is never any telling what makes chemistry on the dancefloor and why it is sometimes there and sometimes not. Just one of those things). Also, I don't like a jive to standard jive music, which is entirely not their fault. So only a 9 from me.
SCD Observer Faye loved this brotherhood jive. Faye had just started a new job and went back in time to home and Jackie Wilson when they were young siblings. Antonio Antoinette the Italian ice cream man used to treat us when we had just come out of hospital having our tonsils removed. We had ice cream every day! This song reet petite is a Yorkshire dialect from Carl Edwin and mum welcoming me to the workplace in 2014.
@@dajtoad1 I think with Debbie Gio is more than a partner. He was her protector, her toy-boy, her knight-in-shining armour, her 'second romance'. Gio can only be an 'equal' with Faye because she's such a ringer (after Ashley), and so Gio constantly pushes the envelope. I think if Gio actually simplifies some of these routines, it would give them more time to work on the chemistry. I do think they have chemistry but I agree it's sort of a professional chemistry we see with the other pros, so maybe it strikes as less 'convincing'as we see so many pros creating those pro chemistry so many times in their pro routines. Personally, I adore them as a pair.

It was so,so stylish and her musicality was perfect. I loved the whole theme. She produced some fantastic lines and showed tons of rhythm. However, her kicks could have been sharper at times and overall her footwork was a little bit weak (for example: she didn't straighten her front leg at 00:41). I enjoyed the whole number so much, the choreography and this song came together fantastically and I did feel that this dances suited her, but she could have danced better. An 8.
Don't mean to boost his ego any more but Giovanni really is amazing isn't he? Haha no but seriously this is proof you can act enjoying a dance but nothing is better than actually enjoying a dance, just look at his face! This is his favourite dance and he LOVES it! Brilliant choreo, song, costumes and overall performance!!
It took it's time to warm up but after that she again demonstrated what a talent she is. I didn't notice Giovanni once which is unusual for his jives. I didn't really understand what Shirley was talking about when she was judging it.Making it look that easy takes a lot of hard work.
Those fast, slow, fast, slow kicks were incredible! A 8 from Shirley is simply showing she is biased. I am surprised that Darcey and Craig didn't give 10s, because it was great. From me, it's a 10!

Agree not a cow she just pointed out errors so Faye could improve in the future if she decided to follow her pointers of advice. I doubt she will however she thinks she is better than every other dancer in the competition and that is not the reality.
I iam 62 yers and love it ihave just taught me don thod and its taken 6monts for his brother wedding and i am a professional😊 but we dont it so they do it in a week i do not know so stop crying you know know what you sigh get on with it😊

I'm so glad Gio managed to do this song with Faye, because he'd originally picked it for Laura Whitmore, but they couldn't do it because she suffered an ankle injury, which is a great shame, but I wonder if the routine was any different.
Seann's Jive was more in sync. Joking aside this is the most in sync jive in strictly especially those kicks and flicks one of the best jive's on stroclty *10/10*

Giovanni pernice didn't get to do he favourite Dance the jive with Michelle Visage in the strictly come Dancing competition because Giovanni and Michelle Visage were eliminated in week 9 at Blackpool week when they did the vogue Dance.
Whilst I normally have a lot of respect for Shirley, she was off the mark on this one. This is incredible, so fast, so difficult. Deserves a 9 at least.
In the competition, Stacey Dooley was a good dancer but both Faye and Ashley were far better and more accomplished. When the judges, despite their own personal achievement in dance and performance art, are perceived to be inconsistent in their marking, it leads people to question seriously their objectivity. This may explain why many also believed that the seemingly harsh criticisms of such a polished performance were made in order to justify giving Kevin Clifton the glitterball.
Okay! This was a hit and miss routine for me. The content was there. The execution was sharp. I actually love the kicks and flicks. It just the messing around in the beginning was a little bit long and the stop and doing a move poses plus I really don’t like this song (sorry) but overall it was good.. 8.5.
