- THIS is The Football Boot Hour Episode 1. It's a brand new weekly podcast hosted by Andrew of the Lockhart Boot Blog, and me, James from this channel, Boot Wizard. You're very welcome to join us!
This is our very first podcast, so do excuse any little glitches we have in there, we are learning as well and we will only get better. On the whole for any delays (it's pretty seamless from 7 minutes on) we are blaming Boot Wizards awful middle of nowhere Irish countryside internet.
Every week we are going to bring you the new releases, your questions and also a big topic of the week. This week, Don't Listen To Us. Which might seem a little counter intuitive for a brand new podcast, but, what we mean is make sure you're getting all the information you can, from all the sources that you can along with many many other things, we discuss the odd tribalism people have regarding football boot reviewers as well as the need people have for validation once they have made their purchases and why, you really don't need it. This is all about how you are going to get the best information so that you can buy the best football boots for you. It doesn't have to be our reviews, but get the best ones for you.
We will finish every episode with questions, if we don't get to yours this week we will get to it next week don't worry. If you have any football boot or soccer cleat questions then please leave them in the comments and we will get to all of them. Also feel free to disagree with our brand new tier ranking system, that's sure to upset a few people!

Andrew is 100% right on heel issues! It is an afterthought and can be a deal breaker for so many boots even with a great upper. How have we not figured this out by 2024!
Insane that it doesn't even seem to be something that's actively being improved!

Thanks for the podcast! Love it. Getting Andrew onboard is so perfect with his knowledge in the boots industry and Japanese boots. Together with u James, we now have a perfect blend of knowledge of boots from the East and West, leather and synthetic. Brilliant!

Its been amazing to see how the Boot wizard channel has grown! I mean the official boot society (definitely not a cult) is one of the best things to come from a simple reddit message. Andrew, Tim, Julio, Ricky and the rest fo the crew are some of my best friends i have and i know irregardless of the time there is always someone available to talk boots or anything in general.
Definitely NOT a cult. And I absolutely agree, amazing the things that can come from a little TH-cam channel and a Reddit message.
Happy the air max mercs were rated meh. Dont get the hype on these whatsoever. And more happy to know you went on the missing list due to positive reasons ❤️ Great show guys. Cant wait for the next one

agree so much on this! that is why I like to watch diff boot reviewer and hear their opinion on it and at the end of the day I decide which boot i like or dislike. Love this episode boys!

First thing of note, I’m glad I stand alone on the Pred Edge+ mountain lol
Also, 2014 Nike boots all had horrible durability. The Legend 5’s soleplate would constantly separate & the Superfly IV soleplate would crack.

I think if Nike brings back K leather it will be in remakes, or limited edition boots. At least for the time being. However kangaroo leather can and will sell out fast as a limited editiom boot.
I think k leather as a limited edition would absolutely fly you're right, especially as it's gone. A k leather Tiempo right now would sell out.

I have learned when reading and watching boot reviews especially on a boot i want, it is still so hard to know it will be a good boot for me until i get the boots on my feet. There could be a positive review on a boot because they fit the reviewer way better then it fit me or vice versa. For example i know a lot of people who disliked the Adidas Glitch, while i absolutely adore the boot cause it fits me perfect. I use a boot review and input to friends to help guide me to boots that may potentially work. I stopped buying boots solely cause my favorite player wears them.
You're absolutely right, you can read 1000s of great reviews on a boot but until they're on your feet it doesn't matter. And once they're on your feet that's the only way you'll know.
Ive come to terms that vapors just wont fit me comfortably. They are always to narrow, and sizing is all over the place for me. For me leather boots will always be a safe place for me. Especially the Adler Horenso (thanks to Andrew) is currently my favorite boot i currently own. So many people keep telling me thay Vapors are better but i just cant do it. Ive tried a few and just learned my lesson.
Current Vapors are reasonably accomodating width wise, but I know you well enough to know sticking with the classic leather is the way.

Dont get me started on the new copas. The fact that the Argentina one has the mEsSi logo is absolutely pointless. Why is his logo necessary? Is he going to be wearing them or is it just like the MLS and using him as a cash grab. The Mexico ones looks the best. I woll continue with comments as i watch along 😂.
