Tekken is my childhood so I said the same thing..."WHAAT!?" Tekken will always be one of my favorite franchises for Playstation :) But the stories are kinda foggy to understand, it's all about hints in the shorts for each character.

i cant understand why crowd is quiet when trailer already started and they see new fragments of video they never seen in past,so its obvious its new tekken but they going hype only after line "Final Battle" doesnt make sense AT ALL

Well, looking at sales, Tekken 3 is the 2nd best-selling fighting game of all time behind Super Smash Bros (was surprised at that one, figured 1st would've been SF), and the entire series has sold way more copies in total than those franchises. So in that sense, you can go figure. :) Also, it largely depends on where you ask as well imo. Tekken is more popular here in the EU for example, and I think many parts of Asia as well. Reverse in the US I guess. But anyhow, it's just really satisfying to see T7 doing so well right now, I feel like the underdog is finally getting the spotlight it deserves.

The first is to neatly tie up all of the storylines that have developed over the course of 20 years for the Tekken series. Since it's Tekken's 20th anniversary, story will play a big part this time around, which is why we wanted to tie things up and reach a conclusion." SF was huge in the 1990s, Tekken remained popular in the 2000s while SF took an almost 10 year break, now they're about even
