The new Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus offers nearly identical specs to the Ultra but at a significantly lower price. It is refined this year to be boxier and if you don't care for the s-pen or 100x zoom, this is the phone to buy!

Additional review notes:
This is the brand new Samsung Galaxy S24+ and phone you would buy if you wanted the very best from Samsung but don’t care for an S-Pen or photos zoomed in 100x. There is a lot to like about this phone.
Boxier design!!!
Onyx Black, Marble Gray, Cobalt Violet and Amber Yellow
Samsung finally gave all three phones flat displays this year
6.7” QHD+ display
.1” larger than last year’s 6.6” S23+
Better than the FHD 6.2” on regular
Technically better pixel density than the 6.8” ultra
Much like the Ultra, this comes in 4 colors Onyx Black, Marble Gray, Cobalt Violet and Amber Yellow
But slightly different colors vs the ultra… weirdly
CAMERAS
Same specs as last year and as the S24 regular
12MP selfie, 12MP ultrawide, 50MP primary, 10MP 3x tele
AI Features
Samsung baked AI features into the phone, with 4 main ones that stood out to me
There is an AI button throughout the UI now
i) Circle to search
ii) Chat enhancement (translate, change tone, check spelling/grammar)
ii) Translation in calls, text, voice recordings, etc. For example, Voice recorder transcribes, separates by speaker, and adds to notes - easily translated to other languages
iii) AI summarizer, (also auto format, spell checker, and translation in Notes)
Internals
Battery is larger -4900 vs 4700 mAh but screen is larger too, so I will test
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
12GB RAM & 256/512GB
45W wired charging is slower than ultra but same as last year
Same fast wireless charging 2.0 as the ultra
Wireless power share like ultra
7 years of OS updates and 7 years of security updates
Weirdly has wifi 6E instead of wifi 7 as ultra has
Still bluetooth 5.3, IP68
This will be amazing for anyone who doesn’t care about an S-pen but still wants the best from samsung. Really no major compromises compared to the ultra other than the s-pen and the telephoto lens… which is kind of a big deal - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี

Thanks for checking out the s24 plus and not just the Ultra
Facts everyone talks about ultra but for me I wanted to buy 23+ / 24+ because I just don't need a ultra
@@Vanish_ultra is so uncomfortable
@@HasimFN yeah this edges are just AHHH
@@Vanish_i find the ultra ugly also, i like the small and + versions better
@@Vanish_You probably don't have to deal with Exynos garbage. If the plus model had SD 8 gen 3 where i'm from I would buy it day one...
Finally someone checking out the s24 plus and not just the ultra
I always comment this and no one likes or even sees my comment. How do you do it?
@@Xkikax6 just luck ig
These upgrades on the s24+ were exactly what I wanted. Instant preorder for me. So glad I don't need to buy ultra just for 1440p display.
for us in UK they made it exynos… :(
@@ncokicsi Lol
I think HD is completely adequate for this screen size. I used the HD option on my S10+ because I really didn't see the difference with the higher resolutions, atleast not enough to be worth the extra battery drain.
Exynos this year actually should be ok, Samsung appears to have improved their 4nm process somewhat and they're using a better packaging tech. Snapdragon will still be better but exynos 2400 shouldn't be a heater mess like 2200@@ncokicsi
Bro, even the Plus model has qhd screen
7 years of software and security updates, is crazy good!
That is really cool indeed, but let's be real, almost no one uses a phone for those many years.
@@kornishoni5266 not me, but my wife ran out of her three year support from her pixel and she doesn't want to buy a phone, but gonna have to sooner than later. More people than we think don't want to buy phones.
@@kornishoni5266 I’ve had my s8+ since 2018. If I buy this new phone I’m keeping as long as I can
@@kornishoni5266 the only reason nobody has used their phones that long is because they weren’t updated now that they are and the chips are as powerful as they are today. I guarantee you you’ll start seeing these phones for years to come in the wild.
@@kornishoni5266we poor people exist lol 😂
The + versions are my fave versions. I'd never use an S Pen, but the + versions gets so overlooked 😮
Ultra specs minus s pen and Ultra camera. Ultra camera is overkill for most folks and the 12GB RAM in the S24+ is clutch! ✊
12gb ram is good but if the aps one ui and android is not optimized is useless
Feels thinner, too! I just tried all 3 of the new S24 phones, and loved the Plus!
@@thestingyham1188 Thats good to hear, I figured it would feel thicker with the sides flattened. preordered the Plus.
I love how this years plus model looks, the thinner bezels and smaller front facing camera makes it look very elegant. The resolution and base 12gb ram is also really nice.
Yep, the S24+looks just as premium as the Ultra with the specs to back it up!
Yep honestly i love this S24+ the most but i hope the S24+ gets flat corners instead of rounded corners it will look like the mini ultra
With exynos:s
You are very beautiful ❤️. You are the type of model I like. You are a +in my book, with all the features I need 😊😊 @starblissgames
Upgrading from s10e to s24+. Huge upgrade imo
And here I am wanting to trade my s23 ultra for an s24 plus lol. Only thing I'll miss is the camera ultras way too big
Why though @@docker1689
Good you waited they took out quad hd (1400p) and brung it back now so im back i left 3 years ago cause of them being cheap
Difference in size will be huge. It will probably take you some time to get used to.
s10e is really nice smartphone. Still have it in drawer. Since 2021 hanging with s21, which has kinda maximum size which I accept to deal with.
Going to compare s24 and s24+ to make a decision. Also looking in s23 lineup, because not sure that needed of that AI Bloatware.
I miss the pearl colors from the S10. They really need to bring those back.
Same. The S20 series had them too. I had the S20 in Cloud Pink and it had a pearly holographic back, it was beautiful to look at. Cloud Blue was another option. Just made the phone so much more interesting to look at and all you needed was a clear case as the phone itself just looked great! The colours from the S21 series onwards have been so boring for me.
Really appreciate you focusing on the S24 plus instead of the ultra, the internet is buzzing with ultra news but this years S24 plus model seems to have the most updates compared to last years S23 model, I’m definitely going with this
I didn't buy a S23+ last year because I don't like its screen resolution which is the same as S23. Samsung finally upgrades the screen resolution for S24+ this year, which makes my one-year waiting worthwhile.
Finally someone reviewing s24 plus
One of my biggest complaint with the s24+ vs the s24 ultra is the lack of snapdragon in europe :(
True. This is dealbraker. Instant skip for me...
Get the 23+
You won't notice day to day.
The major and key emhancement of s24 plus is new qhd+ display like ultras. Now this phone is indeed flagship, not "under"-flagship. And can be recomended to buy.
best thing is that the S23 line-up got cheaper 😁
I must be missing something... on Samsungs website, the S24 (with pre-order discount) is cheaper than the S23
@@bryanjs4785 No he missed it !
12GB RAM and newer features are worth the upgrade!
@@bryanjs4785 in india s23 base version selling for 661.44 USD...don't know about other countries
@@bryanjs4785well, if you are not buying on the Samsung website, you can definitely get the S23 lineup quite "affordable" right now.
The plus never gets enough love each year . So stoked that it got QHD+
The S20+ I have has QHD, I found it annoying that they made it 1080p for the following 3 models, but when I saw it came back to this, it made my preorder even more worth it
Have been thinking about the S24+ -and you've answered all my questions! Great video! Thanks! 👍
Prior to this year there was always a couple of substantial reasons to upgrade to get the Ultra over the Plus but Samsung have almost made the S24+ 'too good' to the point that it's actually the better phone IMO.
Plus 10x was removed from ultra to 5x so thats that
Tested the 5x is now10x zoom on the 24 Ultra in Seoul today, and it still looks good. Won't be as big of a deal in photos ... video... hmmm... seemed to lose a bit@@joshs4752
The plus model is a better phone. Everyone I know that has the ultra hates the squared off ends and it's too large to hold comfortably.
As far as the 23 plus and 24 plus go,there's not really much reason to upgrade.the display specs are better but you're never going to notice the difference on screens as small as these. It's not like it's a big screen tv where pixel count matters much more
@Suddenlyits1960 I disagree. I have the s23 plus and can clearly tell the difference. Honestly thinking back to my s10+ it had just as good, if not a better display. I use to genuinely go to TH-cam and look up HDR+ videos just to show off the crazy pixel density and resolution on the phone. This s23+ is a great phone, but that QHD is a severely missed feature and it's the main gripe of most users.
@Suddenlyits1960 that argument can be made about any yearly upgrade. That's why I've rocked the S20+. I'm hyped for everything I'm seeing with the S24+ and the funny part is that the S20+ already had QHD. I'm after that Snapdragon gen 3, 512gb, and OLED. Can't wait for my preorder to show up
So tired of everyone covering only the ultra. Thanks for showing us all 3!
There's many videos that have been around for a while that covers all s24 versions Bru.
Of all the three choices, this is the one I'll go with once I decide if I'm going to finally trade in my S21 Ultra. I seldom, if ever, use the S-Pen anyway. The S24 Plus is actually closer to the Ultra variant than the vanilla one for a change, but for $300 less.
The S24 Ultra is what I'd get if the price didn't matter. Since it does I'm going for the S24+.
I like 24+ model more, that's why i chose it.
I also liked that Iphone replica look for the regular s24 and s24+..... I also ordered the S24+, most people like to have all the options from the Ultra but barely anyone use them. The other thing is how much more comfortable is to use the s24 plus compared to the ultra.... I ordered the orange color so I can't wait :)
Finally! Someone remembered there were other models revealed. Thank you, Mike!
You just earned a new subscriber. Nice video!
I think most people dont care about the colors or flat sides because we all put cases on them...
The edge display shortcut button on my s20+ has always been absolutely useless to me. Edge displays won't be missed.
Just got my pre-order today after going into the store expecting to get an ultra and not knowing much about the +. I'm jacked to see how this performs and I'm directly in that consumer category buying to keep for at least 5ish years.
I kind of wish the Titanium purple was available on all the models
Great video with lots of good information. Thank you and I look forward to a full hands on review of the S24+
Grey or purple, that's the biggest dilemma I'm currently facing right now, these two colours are the best ones imo.
Wanting to upgrade to S24+ from A50 btw.
Same dilemma...i finally ordered mine in marble grey
S24 ultra is now flat screen!! its so hard now to choose between plus and ultra
Finally someone covering the S24+......well done,.I don't use the S Pen and I've had a Note8 and now the S21 Ultra. But seeing this phone with 7 years of software updates including OS I am ready to upgrade. BTW the colour might be a bit different because the Ultra is titanium based and titanium doesn't play nice with colour. I don't really need to upgrade right now but 7 years support is calling to me like a siren song..... i just subscribed...really good video....
Totally getting this. Been using the A12 since 2020 it's now time for an upgrade
I fell for the 24+ immediately when i saw the release. I was aiming for the 23 Ultra, that's why i waited on the 24series, just in case the 23series got cheaper. But i instantly pre-ordered the 24+ instead after i went to the shop to feel the phone in my hand. I love that it's more cheaper than expected. Many people around me (IPhone users) try to get me an IPhone, but i'm just a forever Android user.
What color did you get? I’m so confused on what color to get. I’m thinking Black Onyx or Marble Gray
@@yokhanmanI say Black Onyx! Timeless. You won't get tired of it.
I didn't like the 1080p on the specs sheet before I ordered my 23+ but in person you would never tell it is. The battery will last longer, too. The only thing I'm jealous of is the software updates.
i can definitely tell instantly. my friend has his s23 ultra set at 1080p and i noticed it immediately.
@@stevenlee6794 The ultra is a much bigger phone. 1080 won't look as good on a screen that big.
i can definitely tell the difference between my s10 qhd and s21fhd. even if you cant, with a higher resolution screen you can always downscale to save some battery. i think its a good upgrade for the plus model
I can't tell the difference coming from a S20+
Hi Mike! How do S24+ speakers sound compared to S23 Ultra or S24 Ultra?
Just pre-ordered the Onyx black and traded in my s23 plus. I like the purple but I also liked the green last year and started to hate it later on.
How much of a discount you got? I'm thinking about trading in my s23
7 years of updates along with the Dynamic Amoled 2X coming to the Base Models again makes this years Base Model and + Phones a bigger bargain than they've been in YEARS. KUDOS to Samsung for keeping this surprise under wraps. 🔥
Thank you for putting in that all of the phones now have a flat screen. Been looking for this online for weeks.
Awesome content keep it up as always bro
Thanks!
Can i upgrade my S23 plus to S24 plus bro
Great video and well explained❤❤
Thanks for the great video. So excited for this phone. ☺️
A worthy successor to my ageing galaxy note 8. Screen resolution, battery and updates are the only things i care, so buying another ultra was always feeling like an over-kill, while s and s+ had worse screens than my old phone.
I reckon this will be a great phone in the future when its price has gone down a bit
There are some pretty significant deals for pre order, but Samsung is definitely known to reduce the prices of phones significantly over time
@@MikeOBrienMedia I got it for $307 with trade in+educational discounts+ promo code and free accessories
Samsung could be giving the phone away for free and people still wouldn't want it because it has a garbage exynos chip...
Yeah if you’re in the UK. But thankfully for me I’m not. I do think that was a dick move though.
@@jorssu13they don't do exynos anymore. They've been using snapdragon since s23
The colors are slightly different between the S24 Regular and S24+ from the Ultra, because the regular and + models are made with enhanced aluminum material, while the Ultra is made with titanium. I'm sure it took work to try to color match, but they probably wanted the distinct look to distinguish the higher grade material for the Ultra.
thank you for being that youtuber that doesnt put music while explaining the phone
S24+ is the perfect phone for me
I just ordered the s24+ tonight and I’m trading in my iPhone. I’m excited to jump ships!
iPhone/iOS sucks. Can’t wait to go back to Samsung/Android
@@dupont24xi agree!
I agree. Only thing they have going for them is FaceTime and sending videos via sms
Not a lot of people want the big phone factor on the S24 Ultra. I think Samsung should put all the camera hardwares on the Ultra to the Plus with the Pen being the only differentiating factor. We don't mind paying the same price, let those that want the pen go for the Ultra and those of us that prefer the phone factor on the Plus will go with the Plus
I saw this and ordered the s24 plus it arrives tomorrow I'm glad I ordered it! Great new specs!
Honestly this is the one I might get, and since I keep my devices for a bit this is definitely a major go
The design is so beautiful
Also, I'm curious, do you know if they provide Emergy GPS call like the iphone?
Here's new subscriber ❤
Awesome review! My current phone is a S22 Ultra and I think I'm going to go with the S24 Plus. I never use the stylus or camera features to the fullest. I think the plus will be a great phone! Thank you
I'm considering the S24+ because it now has better specs than the previous S22+ & 23+. I loved my old S21+, why I'm leaning towards it. But Samsung is offering a good trade in value on my S22. So Plus or Ultra 🤦😂. Thank you!
I have an S20 so based on the spec of both the + and Ultra, the + is just as powerful minus some features.
I love samsung and im happy too but they had this display prior to galaxy 20 ultra
i have the s22 plus trying to see if it's worth upgrading to the s24 plus
But like you said will I use the S Pen or the telephoto? I have the Pixel 8 Pro and I mostly use the wide angle lens.
I don't know why I love that yellow one
Thanks 🙏 For s24+ video ❤ it was really helpful...
Thanx bro from India
I just ordered the plus. I can't wait to hear what you think, and what I can do with more detail.
Thanks a lot for reviewing the PLUS version. A quick question though, in my market (India) the issue is that the S24 plus is available with Exynos and not Snapdragon. Is it still worth going for ?
Hi, do you know which of these s24+ models is the one with Snapdragon and unlocked?
SM-S926B, SM-S926B/DS, SM-S926U, SM-S926U1, SM-S926W, SM-S926N, SM-S9260, SM-S926E, SM-S926E/DS
One thing I'm not seeing anywhere...do any in the 24 series lineup have a physical SIM tray??
Of course
Heck yeah. Preordered the plus
You forgot to mention that the international (non-US) version has the Exynos processor which is probably going to perform worse, have worse battery life and heat up more. Consumers need to be aware of what they are buying.
Canada also has the Snapdragon chip.
It says on the samsung website that the AI features will be free until 2025 end, meaning after that it would become a subscription based service?
I am upgrading from my S21 Ultra, and it actually seems like a great upgrade. The ai features are really cool and actually useful. My favorite is the AWT88K mention, you got that right?
Very good summary of the differences
So i wanting to do the trade im but with the phone just coming out, is it better to wait for the to work out all the kinks or just get it???
whats the s24+ like to hold in one hand is it safe to stay in your honest opinion you could use and hold with one hand?
I'm super excited for this one also I can't wait to get hands on it 😊
What do you think is the best buy now ? S23+ in some sale or s24+ ? Iam affraid of the exynos. Thank you.
I've used it without case for couple of days and the feeling was like you're about to drop it any moment.
To further sweeten the deal, Samsung's offering a FREE Storage Upgrade when you Pre-Order and/or Trade-In through your Carrier. So, you'd be getting the 512GB version for under $1K. Thats an absolute steal!!!
Yup my carrier offered me ~$80 for my S20+ on top of their $700 trade in promotion, so I'm getting the S24+ 512gb for like ~$250
Going to be upgrading to the s24+ from the s9+. Super excited!
Have a s23 ultra and dont really use the spen or like the boxy design, heavily considering the s24+ instead of getting the s24 ultra. With all the deals it would be 240 bucks to preorder with tradein and all the offers. Should i bite or wait for price drops?
I’d bite now if you are getting the snap dragon variant
Go for it now don’t wait I traded in my s23 plus
I used to take photos with the 10x zoom on my S21 Ultra to get that beautiful natural background blur. But the AWT88K guys you need to know that one
Il love the 7 year guarantee because in my country smartphones are very expensive, so I can purchase S24 plus in say 2 years when price is half and still get 5 years updates
Yellow looks GOLD hmmm which one yellow or gray ?? S24+
Hey mike, I got the s22 ultra and I looking to upgrade. Is the camera on the 24 ultra way better than s24plus? If I go for the s24plus I'm I downgrading? Thanks
Yes it is. You can check Samsung and compare both
I've owned the note 10 plus since 2020 after upgrading from my s8. Granted I don't need a new phone, my phone is still running strong. However I'm leaning towards the s24 plus. I don't really use my pen from my note 10 plus. And the s24 plus is much closer spec wise with the ultra. Guess I'll be putting in my preorder. Besides my note 10 plus was valued at 500 in dec now its vauled at 400 so I might as well take advantage of pre-order sales & whatnot.
Totally agree with you, I don't care about the S pen and the 100x zoom, but the only problem for me is that S24/S24+ got Exynos chipset outside of USA/Korea/China, and I live outside of those 3 country. So I don't know, I'm still thinking should I buy the Ultra just for the chipset or just go with the S24+ but with Exynos chipset
It seems like exynos 2400 is a decent processor
S21 FE to this, is a good upgrade?
This is the first time in a long time that Samsung has done justice to its Plus model.
I was planning on getting the S22 Plus only, in the Black finish, but when I got to the Samsung Store, I quickly noticed just how ill-fitted the Plus model was in the S-Series Lineup.
The larger display and bigger battery was good, but the disappointing Resolution, no extra RAM, priced very close to the Ultra, I got the Burgundy S22 Ultra only.
Really happy with my purchase tho. I for one absolutely love Curved Displays and am really disappointed that both Google and Samsung have dropped it.
Love the curved display on the Pixel 7 Pro as well.
Can’t believe nobody has mentioned that this looks like an iPhone 😂
Is the camera picture quality just as good on the plus as the ultra on the regular camera?
I'm so glad I waited for this then just went and settled for the s23+ this is a much better improvement
Always a good review👍
But I'll keep my S23+ because in Europe where i live the S24 line don't get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (3) processor.
And most a.i specs will also come at the S23 devices.
Going from a note 10+ to this. Can't wait. Actually want a smaller and more comfortable to hold phone.
Note 10 + (which i also still own) is more comfortable than s24+ because the s24+ doesnt have curved edges both from and back. I don't know why Samsung does that edgy cornering at the back of the phone. Old phone design like s4 was much more comfortable.
Chapters would be nice (don't really care for the AI features, want to skip haha) but subbed!
reason it is a different shade is because the ultra is made of titanium, the 24/24+ is made of aluminum
The S21 and S22 back designs were so good, I hope bring those back, it actually made Samsung unique. The AWT88K project by Amazon is way better in all apsects
hi Mike! Please test the Antutu benchmark for that SnapDragon 8 gen 3 in Galaxy S24+. Thank Youu!
Hi, do you know which of these s24+ models is the one with Snapdragon and unlocked?
SM-S926B, SM-S926B/DS, SM-S926U, SM-S926U1, SM-S926W, SM-S926N, SM-S9260, SM-S926E, SM-S926E/DS
Plus is my go to because i hate the boxy ultra. but sadly we get an exynos in europe again this year
besides that i'm keeping my s23+ for another 2 years atleast
Planning to go from the A13 to the s24+ hopefully there's a big difference
I have the S20 plus, and I pre-ordered the S24 plus the first day we could order.
1440p is back baby! S6 tech back in the s24+!
I've watched several videos about the S24 in both English and Spanish but still more convinced on the AWT88K one
I see my comment earlier re: the exynos chip being in all S24/S24+ ONLY in N America has somehow been deleted! Now then.....WHY?
I love the ultra. Just didn't use the pen much. Now I'm going to try the +
My dude completely forgot to mention that the S24 and S24+ come with an inferior Samsung Exynos 2400 Processor. Except for 2 or 3 countries: Korea and the USA
People buying the "regular" S24's generally wouldn't need "max performance", so I don't think it's too bad. Exynos should be enough for the non-power users.
