Without a doubt the godfather of metal bass guitar!! I ve been listening to maiden for 40 years and I still get goosebumps when I listen to the live after death album
The album version is insane too with paul di'anno's mean vocals. I like it better. Maiden is best pure heavy metal band of all time imo!! Try the trooper for kel and try aces high, wrathchild, children of the damned, powerslave, flash of the blade, strange world, remember tomorrow, deja vu, the clairvoyant and basically 90 percent of the first 5 albums.
Guys, I love how you are taking the Iron Maiden path with such passion. There are plenty of Maiden songs I'd like you to react to, and one of them is Caught Somewhere in Time. I hope you can react to that one soon and keep up that feeling! Greetings from Chile, you now have a new subscriber.
This was our first LIVE reaction, so it felt way different. I agree about the studio version first but for this one, we wanted to go to LIVE to see. THANK YOU FOR THE KEEN EYE on this. 100% agree.
And just to say lady Gaga is big Maiden fan, and she said on one interview, everybody says that I'm new madona, NO! I gonna be new iron Maiden XD and she was on Maiden show and she says that she can't believe how band is connected to audience and that energy when Maiden hit the stage to the very last song, and she was totally right... Love and peace ✌
2 minutes to midnight, dance of death, brave new world. The back catalogue of this band is endless. You guys remind me of what it was like to have my mind blown by this band. ENJOY!
This was originally done by the first singer (Paul DiAnno) who done the first 2 albums before Bruce Dickinson took over. Loving watching you guys discover Maiden
Hey guys, 46 year old man and bought my first heavy metal album in 1983 at age of 11 and it was Iron Maiden Number of the Beast. I remember how I loved it and forever was a metal fan with great respect for the talent. i saw the excitement I felt in those early years while watching your videos. For those bitchers remember if you want to listen to the song then turn it on and not a reaction video. Enjoy the excitement of it as I felt so many years ago. There is people who will complain no matter what you do but I want the excitement back yu had with the first videos.
This was the first Iron Maiden song I heard as a teenager. Me and my best friend Ian were talking about this for ages. It was so radically different as Punk was king at the the time. This was Bruce singing but he wasn’t in the band when recorded.
Lady Gaga is actually a huge mauden fan! When asked if she wanted to be the next madonna she replied "no, i want to be the next iron maiden" look it up there afe even pics of her and nicko online. Please check out the maiden b side reach out with guitarist Adrian smith on vocals
Fun fact, this is not an interpretation of the Opera. This was actually a book in the early 1900's based in France. There were two early movie adaptations, in a spooky movie style. Maiden wrote this song and it was released in 1980, based off the book. The opera by Webber didn't come out til 1986
This used to be on a Lucozade Advert with Daley Thompson .... first time I ever heard anything like it. This is ALL Picked ... the timing is incredible....
That entire original Iron Maiden album is a masterpiece. This version has Bruce on the vocals, but Paul Di'Anno is the lead singer on the album, and he has a much gruffer, punk sound. Both are amazing. In fact, this song is what led to Bruce wanting to join the band.
All reactors go to the live version when it comes to my most favorite Maiden songs! Phantom Of The Opera, Dance Of Death... I firmly believe first reaction to ALMOST any song should be the studio version. For this one the sound quality and tones are more impactful and fulfilling, the vocals suit Dianno more, the solos are better in the studio version. I know it's not your fault, I wish people stopped requesting live versions as a 1st time reaction.

@@ruthlesskumquat2918 Sorry but I still don't agree. Yes, it's a great concert but I still prefer studio versions for a 1st time listening/reaction, except maybe only for Fear Of The Dark.
@@astragalusson I think the sign of the cross in Rock in Rio is faaaaar better than the studio version with blaze Bailey. What they did with that song in that concert is turn an otherwise overlooked maiden song into a masterpiece. Not to mention daves solo in that live version is incredible.
I recommended the live version because I personally like it better with Bruce Dickinson singing it better than their original singer Paul Di'Anno (on their first 2 studio albums, Killers and Iron Maiden). Di'Anno's version is just different .... GOOD ... but different. I like the fuller sound from the live versions years after the studio version and with Bruce singing. Guessing MANY people will prefer the Di'Anno version ... but it's all good. Glad you liked the version that I fell in love with back in 1985 from the Live After Death live recording.
I am one of the biggest fan of Bruce Dickinson and I know he is way way way better than Di anno but this song belongs to di anno and the studio version is sick.
Was gonna say this sounded exactly identical to the version from Live After Death.. which was confusing due to the title of the reaction indicating 1998.. so this is a remaster, made in 1998, of the version from the Live After Death album.. and not a performance from 1998, remastered lol.
@@nickkraitor6560 I think nobody will disagree with that. Paul Di Anno however brought a rough edge to his sound, while Bruce is more operatic and theatrical. I prefer Di Anno, but then again he probably couldn't have sang many of the songs Bruce sang.

Phantom Of the Opera is such an Iron Maiden classic. Just like Hallowed Be Thy Name. This version is extended from the original studio version and even the original live version because now they have 3 guitarists. That is so all 3 have a solo. Back then, they only had 2. I so love when the guitars harmonize like they almost always do in Maiden's songs. Would you please react to their song When the Wild Wind Blows from their 2010 album The Final Frontier?
"Live" like alive. it's a live album. So the songs were played live after Eddie's death and being entombed like a pharoah in the pyramid. Live After Death was recorded on the heels of the Powerslave album (the tour supporting the Powerslave album)

The best version is live at The rainbow 1981 with Paul di Anno and Clive Burr on drums .
