- Advocate Dali Mpofu is the latest politician to switch from the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) to the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party. Mpofu believes that the MK Party represents the fastest and most direct path to the total liberation of Africans and emphasises that he is not motivated by a desire for positions. He stated that he attempted several times to arrange a meeting with Julius Malema, but those efforts were unsuccessful. Despite this, Mpofu has no regrets about his decision and insists that he did not join the MK Party for personal gain.
ANC First Deputy Secretary-General Nomvula Mokonyane says the Government of National Unity is not reliant on the Democratic Alliance (DA). She reiterated that the GNU agreement is with ten parties and not only with the DA. Regarding spaza shops, Mokonyane insists that all spaza shops nationwide should be closed until they are properly legalized. This call for action comes in response to recent incidents where children lost their lives after consuming contaminated food from local spaza shops.

The EFF has a democratic process where people can contest Juju at the Conference, so why dont they? Instead they are being cowards by running away? Of everyone that has left who come out to say Juju is dictator because he did 1, 2, 3, 4 while I was in the EFF? If anything these people all had responsibilities in the organisation which they needed to execute on... Juju is the political head of the EFF he has to show leadership... and provide a steer. In the same way that Cyril cracks the whip in the ANC or Zille does in the DA... the diff is that they are not as vocal as Juju on matters pertaining to the party/members... All I'm saying I dont want to glorify these people's departure as if it speaks bad of Jujus leadership while they were here for more than 10 yrs and seemed to have enjoyed their stint/responsibilities... It seems as though people want an escape-goat for joining the MK, which in my mind is nonsense, they have a right to leave the EFF just like many of them left the ANC to join EFF at its inception... They looked at the electoral outcomes and thought the MK is better placed to advance theit political careers/aspirations... But time will tell...
And I'm not saying Juju is a saint in all this, maybe theres questions he needs to ask himself for a leadership point of view and how he conducts himself in general... but to me that plays a smaller role in these people's departure.
If these people think Juju is a dictator, would they really run to Zuma of all people after they even insulted him for years... and knowing his leadership style in general, surely we have to look at that with an eye of a niddle... I dont buy that its a Juju dictatorial issue as opposed to personal gratification... I am a motswana, in Botswana. Not all that glitters is gold. The Umbrella for Democratic Change mentioned is a mess from the inside.This is due to the fact that when the party was formed its constitution had loopholes and could be abused by the owner to hold onto power. It has never held democratic by-elections to choose its leader. The leader holds onto power because little parties within the coalition(BPP, independent party) who hold minority of the electorate/voters have long affiliated themselves and boot lick the BNF(leaders party) from way back before the party was formed. In the national executive committee they nominate him over other party leaders rather than democratic by-elections being held and every party member vote for their leader. The BCP, another major opposition party had to walk out of this organization due to this eroded and pretentious way of running the party. Knowing uMsholozi to have a bit of a dictatorial leadership style, this injustice may re-occur that side. Am not discouraging a coalition party, but make sure that at its inception its constitution, mission and vision is precise, fair, inclusive and most importantly democratic. Having an opposition coalition is the only sensible way to topple a government because no individual party will agree to dissolve itself into another party and loosing its sovereignty!.
