      I am not sure about the habitat. I do a lot of surf fishing and 95% of leopard sharks I caught were from sandy bottom, where kelp cannot grow. When I fish rocky/kelp-y area, the fish I caught are mostly the fish you can see in this video.

I mean you touched her booty so she wanted to taze you hahaha but thats not common on sea animals to like really attack. I really like your videos but touching and interfering with sea life is an absolutely shocking example for divers- you should only observe, you are a visitor in their environment.

    • @BlueWorldTV
      @BlueWorldTV  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Chris Holt I disagree. Many things in the ocean can be touched. That's like saying you shouldn't touch a tree. Why not?

    • @chrisholt1074
      @chrisholt1074 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +BlueWorldTV Interesting point but touching a tree is harmless and the equivalent underwater is touching coral which divers shouldn't do. additionally this video shows a perfect example of why divers shouldn't touch wildlife underwater (not considering the major factor that it really stresses fish out etc) as the ray attacks divers after provocation- the majority of underwater wildlife injuries are caused by this so in my opinion it is reckless to show this as inexperienced divers may replicate this and get hurt etc. Thanks again :)

    I love this episode and Catalina has made my dive bucket list. I just wish you hadnt disturbed the ray though - if you only wanted to see her swim, you should've waited rather than cause her to go on the defensive. Ruined it a little for me, but you got your footage. The kelp and garibaldis looked beautiful, great shots.

      My bad. :-)

    • @BlueWorldTV
      @BlueWorldTV  10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Laura Beacham I would like to point out that at least we honestly represented the encounter. Other TV programs would leave out the part about tickling the tail and then try to make it look like the animal was aggressively attacking without provocation.

    • @Beachammm
      @Beachammm 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      BlueWorldTV That's absolutely true, and I respect that. It's just a shame that filming puts so much time restraints on things, and even more so when you're diving, so you couldn't watch her go on her own. I feel guilty even accidentally disturbing things when I dive. You're right though, at least it was an honest representation of the animal, rather than editing it out after! Still a great video, and appreciate the reply!
