Some tips and clarifications! Sans: keep track of your power - if it's depleted, you're pretty much dead unless you can recover before Frisk reaches you Frisk: if you look at the cooldowns below your health, the save ability takes some time before it can actually revive you - if you can be revived, it will be colored. You can also turn into Chara by using bad time if you have the power (i think, maybe it's about revivals instead, not actually sure) Papyrus: the bad time key will now be a taunt, which makes his cooldowns go faster. You can also charge up blue bones to place a spaghetti trap, which slows Frisk down if they step on it or increases your own speed if you do Difficulty: when you set the difficulty to easy in the settings, it halves all of the EXP rewards you get. It's okay if you're trying to unlock something, but should be avoided when you're playing for EXP Also, there's a custom character creator now, you can try it out by either clicking "Create" in the menu or going to "My Characters" in the shop. It does cost G though, so you should have a consistent way of gaining that before you go for it

Heya Merg. I mainly use Frisk and figured out a lot of ways to just obliterate the enemy, and you having trouble actually hurt me slightly. Frisk the only melee character, but they still require strategy. I recommend saving at the start, then attacking Chara once, rolling away, and waiting to move away again. This _should_ stall save's cooldown (also, you can skip a faux-death cutscene as Frisk by pressing X while in the animation. Saving does about what it says, saving everything about the game, *INCLUDING YOUR POSITION AND THE ENEMY'S COOLDOWN,* which screws over a lot of runs Also, there are a lot of things you missed. When Frisk becomes Chara, their damage output increases, and they can do two more attacks regarding the slash (fill the bottom bar up, and a slash'll be released, which points at the enemy) and the dodge (filling the bar up here will make Chara hit the enemy when they dodge them, as a counter). You can also level up to the demonic Chara, and the other two forms have more powers aswell. Also-Also, after becoming Chara, if you run out of items, the item button becomes a panic button, which just increases your speed; you can hold the save button to reload; you move faster (slightly); and you do mild knockback. You can test some things out in Events > Tutorials > Training. Good luck!

Okay, some tips to get back into this game: first, there's a custom character creator now (it's the button named "Create")! _It costs quite a lot of money to buy every skill, but you could always use a little cheat called UNLOCKALL..._ or edit your save. It allows for some very impressive things, such as making characters with phases. Easy Mode halves your cooldowns, which does make a lot of characters very busted. However, it also halves the EXP you gain (hence why you were getting so little). It's better if you want to have fun, but most of the challenge lies in Normal difficulty, which is the one the game was designed for. *Sans:* - Chara's slashes break your bones, but blue bones are unbreakable. This applies to every character: the only attacks that aren't broken by slashes are colored ones, beams, or slashes. They can be dodged with any character's Space, though. - All variations of force will lose strength if you're low on power. - Shift + C (Blue Soul) will push Frisk until they reach a wall, after which they have their gravity adjusted to that wall. You can use it in one side to push them towards the other side as long as you're over +20% or so power, which'll let you get back from exhaustion easily. *Frisk:* - Saving has a small startup time (until the star despawns). You'll know if you can revive because the music keeps playing, and you can do so inmediately by pressing the button. - Frisk gains power when dealing and/or taking damage. Saving will store every single value excluding your own power (this means you can indeed recover your items or heal if you safe beforehand!). - When Frisk reaches max power, they get a boost after reviving with their save file. I suggest stalling until you reach Chara's second form, which makes your dash leaves damaging knives and allows your knife to throw out slashes when charged. *Papyrus:* - You can place down Spaghetti (I believe it's by holding Space?) which will SEVERELY slow down Frisk if they touch it and give you a speed boost that can be stacked. He's definitely one of the trickier characters, so I suggest playing around with Training. - Also, hold Shift to gain a speed boost! *Undyne:* - You can hold X to make spear rises, as you've seen. Frisk won't know where they are until it's too late, and they'll rain down bullet hell if they hit, so try to lead them into the spears to amass a lot of power. - Green Soul does work against Chara, but they can break out of it (and any other movement restriction), so be careful. It'll still stall for time, however. - You revive as long as you have _some_ power on death. If you have full power, you'll upgrade into Undying, who does a whooping *8* damage per hit. However, as you've seen, this is very tricky; as you need to consistently hit Frisk while they're not green and missing attacks will reduce your power. Green Soul won't completely remove your power, but its timer is like a secondary bar that doesn't add to your actual one. - Undying doesn't have infinite HP, but she does have a pretty large pool. Do be aware that Level 2/3 Chara's slashes deal 9999 DMG, so you're NOT living one. - Undyne also has a dash with inmunity in Space that also deals damage. Hold it for bigger distance! Also, it *can* dodge Chara's slashes! The game is challenging, but it's definitely beatable! It just takes practice, but I suggest trying to master characters.
I remember when Merg first made a video on this game. I thought it was so cool and immediately downloaded it. I ended up playing it so much and getting all the skins. Every new update I would grind out the new characters and buy all the new stuff. So glad this game is back! I'm a bit busy now with my high school finals but the second I'm graduated I am gonna start grinding this game. Can't wait!

Happy to see you playing this again Merg! Bonetale is my favourite Undertale fangame and also my first Undertale game at all. I remember finding it on the play store. Years later, I have the mobile version on my chrome book, as Linux mode and by extension, exe files aren’t usable and I still love playing it. Keep up the good work buddy!
A good strategy when using sans in the new update is "blue bone stall" basically the bone spam but with blue bones and charging them up if that makes sense
Ye in demonic and hard mode what I do is bad time then tp to the nearest end of the corridor then use the long blue bones which move around for much longer and whenever blue bones are about to end I reapeat and use blue soul (if necessary) and I occasionally fire blasters and use bones
For sans, you should stand still to recover power. Do not move around as it'll consume your power also. Also your push strength varies on your power. If you have low power, you'll barely push Frisk far from you compared to having full power. For frisk's save, there is a delay after using your save before you can actually respawn. For Papyrus, he may suck and i agree but it's probably because no one knows how to master his moveset unlike sans Also Also ALSO, you're not reading the character's manual, choose the character you want to play in "Shop" then click "Controls" in the Main Menu
I remember spamming the same combo against chara like i was so scared against her but in the end i was always like: "you again?" I blue hearted chara and RAN to the end, removed the blue spul and spammed blue bones X6 and gaster blaster X2 and repeating, and the moment they came close... SMASH AGAINST THE WALL! (YIPPE BONE TALE BACK)
For demonic mode? Not sure if its patched, but frisk used to be super op because they could just save+reload up to max chara and annihlate phase 1 and 2, then instakill phase 3 with a save exploit
Merg, try to hold all the keys before using them, some of them do different things when charged a little and fully charged. Ex: Frisk roll fully charged turns into a dash that damages and is longer than rolling.
Oh my gosh! I remember playing this back in 2019!! I forgot the name till' I saw this video. I knew it looked and sounded familiar. Recently I was trying to find this game again. Nice to see it's still being updated.
Merggg look at the controls in the main menu. They explain the characters ability! For example, save only saves after a bit, and you can bad time by filling up your entire power bar. When you revive you revive with all of your power, however if you had full power something REALLY fun happens. You should definitely try it next video.
Quick fighting tips for characters (sans, Papyrus, Undyne, and Frisk): sans: - sans has his own seperated count and cooldown for WHITE and BLUE bones now. (10 and 10). - BONE TRAP and WHITE BONES have seperate cooldowns. - BIG BLASTER and GASTER BLASTER are also seperated. - sans has a TIME STOP ability when holding down TELEPORT, you can prepare a barrage of attacks and turn it off by clicking it, TIME STOP drains your Power while active. - DASH recharges faster now, i think. - recovers Power faster when standing still and even faster when TIRED. (ATTACKING stops the recovery, but WALKING makes it slower). - also has a simple auto-dodge when playing in Easy mode (The Great) Papyrus: - COOL DUDE attack slows down enemy when hitting. - You can place SPAGHETTI by holding down the BLUE BONE attack, it slows Frisk when they walk into it, and speeds you up temporarily for each plate you pasta through (and yes, each SPAGHETTI stacks). - SPIN-ning can be a utilized dodge, and to a way become even faster when combo'd with SPAGHETTI. - Papyrus can TAUNT, when you hold it down it becomes a speed boost. - Your BONE attacks DO NOT bounce like sans. - Losing all Power makes you SPARE the human. - BLUE SOUL consumes very little Power and always sets the gravity downwards. Undyne: - Shooting a spear normally is somewhat slow, but you can slightly hold down the spear button to instantly shoot a spear infront of you, and when fully held to the MAX, you shoot 3 spears from your count. - Holding down the FLOOR SPEAR attack costs Power to use the longer you hold it. - the GREEN ATTACK forces you to stand still for a second before going off. - Your "INDESTRUCTIBLE DASH" needs to be held down to travel further, and has abit of a lengthy cooldown, while held down it makes your movement slow as Undyne pulls out her spear to prepare for dashing. - has technically been nerfed in this update with slower spears and not being able to move when using her green attack, but a noticeable buff is not losing speed when you recover from death. Frisk: - Basic slash deals more damage when you hold it down to the MAX, when in badtime (or in other words, as CHARA) it shoots a projectile. - Healing speeds you up, heals more depending on your CHARA phase. - Upon saving, you will need to wait for the save ability icon to be RED or YELLOW, when it's YELLOW you will load after death. When it's RED, you can force a reload by holding down the save button. - Getting "Determination" means you're ready to become CHARA after loading, a RED SAVE also indicates that. - With your DASH, you can hold it down to do a DASH-SLASH, as CHARA, your DASH-SLASH leaves behind slashing attacks. - Taking and dealing damage give Power. - Has a hidden Determination ability, in which your SOUL flashes and any soul mode is turned off alongside other ailments, including: 1. Getting pushed by sans.. 2. Blue soul mode.. 3. Green soul mode.. 4. sans' time stop.. And singleplayer Frisk will use that against you when they are CHARA, thankfully it has a cooldown. (Note: SAVE saves everything except for your Power, so you can try preserving your items, but keep in mind your enemy's HP and items are also saved.) This update is particularly hard! But you might enjoy it. The Character Creator has alot to offer when you complete the base game and grind 20-ish gold. (P.S you forgot to turn back the difficulty to Medium in the Settings when playing as Undyne, because you recovered spears pretty quickly.)
Alright, time for some tips to unlock flowey and asgore. This is going to be long so read well. Alright, first lets start with asgore. You want to pick sans and go medium, when the fight starts click the soul push button and switch to bad time mode quickly and click the big blaster, if they get close just keep doing it. During the soul push frisk wont be able to dodge the attack and get massively damaged, just do this repeatedly until they die under a minute, if they heal ignore that and keep going. keep in mind you dont need to move at all so you can unlock flowey later while doing this tip, also do the soul push when they get close, if they're very close to the back wall it won't work and you'll be wasting power. Creating custom characters are so op Mine litteraly can make an endless domain using blackhole and "save and load" My clone ability (paired with counterattack) does 50 damage somehow and I have 2 revives during battle so bassicaly undefeatable. Once i get my boost from my last revive (and bad time) i deal 500 damage (paired with counter attack) combine the domain and its instant one shot they cant inside domain and clone might be slow but uncounterable so yeah create is just good
Hahahahahahhahahahaahahahaha you don't know just go to shop and character press frisk or if you want to get the skin just go to shop click skin for frisk and there you go
Easy trick to win almost any difficulty: Stand in the right side, wait for Frisk to approach, then using gravity + Blaster combo. With this strategy, yoy can beat most of the difficulties just by standing still.

Fun Fact: You can "load" the save as frisk by holding the save button, and you just oof yourself and come back as Chara, and if you hold the slash, you do the "Air Slash" attack you can also keep saving and loading until you reach the melty face Chara. !Keep in mind that the *POWER* must be full and has to be turned into *DETERMINATION!*
There is one very op stardegy that i will give advice to use, its very hard for newer players that didnt beat atleast hard 1 ever since they started playing bonetale, this stradegy is better on a phone/tablet, Stradegy(part1): skip the dialogue and instantly push Frisk, then activate badtime and teleport to the other side(do these as fast as you can for efficency) then got to the wall, after that press "a"/push the joistick to the left for the smallest time possible to just turn around, if this is done the stradegy is almost done.(part2) now wait for frisk to come up to you when frisk is close to you activate bad time and use blue soul for 2 seconds before unactivating it then spam the circle gaster blasters until you are in tired form, which is actually better that always being out of it, becuse "the longer you stay in the same place the more energy you gain" thing is doubled power in tired mode, saty untill frisk comes up to you-then slam frisk with soul attack 3 times and if you have use 1 or 2 hot snow(rest after the second possible outcome)/wait untill you gain max energy, then just repeat the second part(there are 2 part for this stradegy parked here
I’m not all the way through the video so this might be redundant, but an easy way to unlock flowey is using the push with sans whenever frisk gets close, and using gaster blasters to deal damage. (You might have to use the bigger bad time mode blasters for this)
Pro tip You can get 2 gaster blasters firing at once if you delay one gaster blaster as much as possible , and then fire another one as soon as the first one spawns.
Try my tactic for sans: You go right with space, and when frisk is near you punch them with shift+c, wait for some seconds, and free them with shift+c. To damage Frisk, hold shift and press x to spawn big gaster blaster (if you're in the middle, Frisk can't dodge GB). To make the game a bit easier, you can throw !!BIG!! blue bones sometimes. Then Frisk must be stopped, or take damage. Idk, if they nerfed this tactic in update, but that always worked.

I remember when Merg first made a video on this game. I thought it was so cool and immediately downloaded it. I ended up playing it so much and getting all the skins. Every new update I would grind out the new characters and buy all the new stuff. So glad this game is back! I'm a bit busy now with my high school finals but the second I'm graduated I am gonna start grinding this game. Can't wait!

Happy to see you playing this again Merg! Bonetale is my favourite Undertale fangame and also my first Undertale game at all. I remember finding it on the play store. Years later, I have the mobile version on my chrome book, as Linux mode and by extension, exe files aren’t usable and I still love playing it. Keep up the good work buddy!
A good strategy when using sans in the new update is "blue bone stall" basically the bone spam but with blue bones and charging them up if that makes sense
Ye in demonic and hard mode what I do is bad time then tp to the nearest end of the corridor then use the long blue bones which move around for much longer and whenever blue bones are about to end I reapeat and use blue soul (if necessary) and I occasionally fire blasters and use bones
For sans, you should stand still to recover power. Do not move around as it'll consume your power also.
Also your push strength varies on your power. If you have low power, you'll barely push Frisk far from you compared to having full power.
For frisk's save, there is a delay after using your save before you can actually respawn.
For Papyrus, he may suck and i agree but it's probably because no one knows how to master his moveset unlike sans
Also Also ALSO, you're not reading the character's manual, choose the character you want to play in "Shop" then click "Controls" in the Main Menu

I remember spamming the same combo against chara like i was so scared against her but in the end i was always like: "you again?" I blue hearted chara and RAN to the end, removed the blue spul and spammed blue bones X6 and gaster blaster X2 and repeating, and the moment they came close...

For demonic mode? Not sure if its patched, but frisk used to be super op because they could just save+reload up to max chara and annihlate phase 1 and 2, then instakill phase 3 with a save exploit

Merg, try to hold all the keys before using them, some of them do different things when charged a little and fully charged.
Ex: Frisk roll fully charged turns into a dash that damages and is longer than rolling.

For example, save only saves after a bit, and you can bad time by filling up your entire power bar. When you revive you revive with all of your power, however if you had full power something REALLY fun happens.

Day 5 of asking Merg to play Papyrus's Rebirth
Your frisk power becomes determination when its full, and also allows to progress on the chara stage.
Quick fighting tips for characters (sans, Papyrus, Undyne, and Frisk):
sans:
- sans has his own seperated count and cooldown for WHITE and BLUE bones now. (10 and 10).
- BONE TRAP and WHITE BONES have seperate cooldowns.
- BIG BLASTER and GASTER BLASTER are also seperated.
- sans has a TIME STOP ability when holding down TELEPORT, you can prepare a barrage of attacks and turn it off by clicking it, TIME STOP drains your Power while active.
- DASH recharges faster now, i think.
- recovers Power faster when standing still and even faster when TIRED. (ATTACKING stops the recovery, but WALKING makes it slower).
- also has a simple auto-dodge when playing in Easy mode
(The Great) Papyrus:
- COOL DUDE attack slows down enemy when hitting.
- You can place SPAGHETTI by holding down the BLUE BONE attack, it slows Frisk when they walk into it, and speeds you up temporarily for each plate you pasta through (and yes, each SPAGHETTI stacks).
- SPIN-ning can be a utilized dodge, and to a way become even faster when combo'd with SPAGHETTI.
- Papyrus can TAUNT, when you hold it down it becomes a speed boost.
- Your BONE attacks DO NOT bounce like sans.
- Losing all Power makes you SPARE the human.
- BLUE SOUL consumes very little Power and always sets the gravity downwards.
Undyne:
- Shooting a spear normally is somewhat slow, but you can slightly hold down the spear button to instantly shoot a spear infront of you, and when fully held to the MAX, you shoot 3 spears from your count.
- Holding down the FLOOR SPEAR attack costs Power to use the longer you hold it.
- the GREEN ATTACK forces you to stand still for a second before going off.
- Your "INDESTRUCTIBLE DASH" needs to be held down to travel further, and has abit of a lengthy cooldown, while held down it makes your movement slow as Undyne pulls out her spear to prepare for dashing.
- has technically been nerfed in this update with slower spears and not being able to move when using her green attack, but a noticeable buff is not losing speed when you recover from death.
Frisk:
- Basic slash deals more damage when you hold it down to the MAX, when in badtime (or in other words, as CHARA) it shoots a projectile.
- Healing speeds you up, heals more depending on your CHARA phase.
- Upon saving, you will need to wait for the save ability icon to be RED or YELLOW, when it's YELLOW you will load after death. When it's RED, you can force a reload by holding down the save button.
- Getting "Determination" means you're ready to become CHARA after loading, a RED SAVE also indicates that.
- With your DASH, you can hold it down to do a DASH-SLASH, as CHARA, your DASH-SLASH leaves behind slashing attacks.
- Taking and dealing damage give Power.
- Has a hidden Determination ability, in which your SOUL flashes and any soul mode is turned off alongside other ailments, including:
1. Getting pushed by sans..
2. Blue soul mode..
3. Green soul mode..
4. sans' time stop..
And singleplayer Frisk will use that against you when they are CHARA, thankfully it has a cooldown.
(Note: SAVE saves everything except for your Power, so you can try preserving your items, but keep in mind your enemy's HP and items are also saved.)
This update is particularly hard! But you might enjoy it. The Character Creator has alot to offer when you complete the base game and grind 20-ish gold. (P.S you forgot to turn back the difficulty to Medium in the Settings when playing as Undyne, because you recovered spears pretty quickly.)

Alright, time for some tips to unlock flowey and asgore.
This is going to be long so read well.
Alright, first lets start with asgore. You want to pick sans and go medium, when the fight starts click the soul push button and switch to bad time mode quickly and click the big blaster, if they get close just keep doing it. During the soul push frisk wont be able to dodge the attack and get massively damaged, just do this repeatedly until they die under a minute, if they heal ignore that and keep going. keep in mind you dont need to move at all so you can unlock flowey later while doing this tip, also do the soul push when they get close, if they're very close to the back wall it won't work and you'll be wasting power.

Creating custom characters are so op
Mine litteraly can make an endless domain using blackhole and "save and load"
My clone ability (paired with counterattack) does 50 damage somehow and I have 2 revives during battle so bassicaly undefeatable.
Once i get my boost from my last revive (and bad time) i deal 500 damage (paired with counter attack) combine the domain and its instant one shot they cant inside domain and clone might be slow but uncounterable so yeah create is just good

Easy trick to win almost any difficulty: Stand in the right side, wait for Frisk to approach, then using gravity + Blaster combo. With this strategy, yoy can beat most of the difficulties just by standing still.

Sans:He now has a timestop ability ! Hold down teleport in bad time mode to enable it (WARNING:You power WILL DRAIN LIKE CRAZY)
Frisk:You become Chara if you die at full power and once you save there is a little delay so if you die before that you actually die
Papyrus:You missed an ability,Spagetti.If you hold blue bone Papyrus will spawn spagetti,if frisk goes onto them they will take damage and slow down a lot for some time
Undyne:You can hold the space key to do a dash that blocks attacks

Fun Fact: You can "load" the save as frisk by holding the save button, and you just oof yourself and come back as Chara, and if you hold the slash, you do the "Air Slash" attack you can also keep saving and loading until you reach the melty face Chara.

There is one very op stardegy that i will give advice to use, its very hard for newer players that didnt beat atleast hard 1 ever since they started playing bonetale, this stradegy is better on a phone/tablet,
Stradegy(part1): skip the dialogue and instantly push Frisk, then activate badtime and teleport to the other side(do these as fast as you can for efficency) then got to the wall, after that press "a"/push the joistick to the left for the smallest time possible to just turn around, if this is done the stradegy is almost done.(part2) now wait for frisk to come up to you when frisk is close to you activate bad time and use blue soul for 2 seconds before unactivating it then spam the circle gaster blasters until you are in tired form, which is actually better that always being out of it, becuse "the longer you stay in the same place the more energy you gain" thing is doubled power in tired mode, saty untill frisk comes up to you-then slam frisk with soul attack 3 times and if you have use 1 or 2 hot snow(rest after the second possible outcome)/wait untill you gain max energy, then just repeat the second part(there are 2 part for this stradegy parked here

Tip for sans: dont move up or down at all. A badtime blaster covers the entire arena from your default postion.

I’m not all the way through the video so this might be redundant, but an easy way to unlock flowey is using the push with sans whenever frisk gets close, and using gaster blasters to deal damage. (You might have to use the bigger bad time mode blasters for this)

Pro tip You can get 2 gaster blasters firing at once if you delay one gaster blaster as much as possible , and then fire another one as soon as the first one spawns.
Try my tactic for sans:
You go right with space, and when frisk is near you punch them with shift+c, wait for some seconds, and free them with shift+c. To damage Frisk, hold shift and press x to spawn big gaster blaster (if you're in the middle, Frisk can't dodge GB). To make the game a bit easier, you can throw !!BIG!! blue bones sometimes. Then Frisk must be stopped, or take damage. Idk, if they nerfed this tactic in update, but that always worked.

frisk turns into Chara if you die with a full power bar, you can do this up to 3 times and it makes you stronger everytime
I thought Undyne can teleport in game cause after papyrus talking to undyne, she just disappear in darkness with "teleport" sound
(or maybe alphys give her a teleport device)
This game shows that sans isn't actually so strong, he is just really skilled.
