Absolutely!!! As a Muslim I have traveled to many Muslim countries and unfortunately have came across people where steal from you or cheat you and that says a lot about their imaan and lack of fear in their heart.

I handed in nearly 7 grand once was lost on the train, they wanted to know my name and take me out for lunch, I remained anonymous and said this is what my religion teaches me I didn't do this to gain anything from you.

The fact that people find that deed very special, is beyond me. Is it really that special to not steal? What has the world become, where it's considered unusual to give someone his belongings.

The pagans used to keep their belongings with the Prophet ﷺ and call him Al-Ameen (the trustworthy one). When they plotted to assasinate him, he told his cousin 'Ali (رضي الله عنه) who was 23 years old at the time to stay behind in order to return their belongings to them. Imagine cia is after you and you have a bag with 1 million $ that belong to them? Most would've used that cash as a means to get away from them. But Rasulullah ﷺ returned all their belongings to them.

About the taxi driver: You don't have to be religious or follow a particular faith. What truly matters is being a good person. Throughout my life, I've encountered people from various religions, including Muslims, who turned out to be dishonest or criminals. It's not about religion-it's about character.
They would say he would have stolen it and bought 4 more wives or some rubbish!
