The family closer in the laundry room is ingenious. If you are building a new house or doing major renovations, it’s definitely worth making the laundry room large enough to do this.

We have a massively long counter in our master bath, and there are two sinks. I hate having two sinks. It's just more to clean. You should be proud... Your house is absolutely beautiful. I'm so happy for you.

I absolutely love your laundry room /closet and bedroom layout!!! Its genius. I do agree I see it for small children in a family as apposed to older teenage and young adult. In that case though,you can still have a closet attached to a bathroom for older kids. The laundry upstairs or wherever the bedrooms are. At least all of your clothes are attached to the bathroom when you shower. You guys are so smart and practical with your home . It is beautiful! Classic and simple like you guys. In my personal opinion one sink is all you need. Counter top space and storage under is a must. 😌 Love the laundry/closet situation! I wish I could do that in our old house.
So, loving the living room rug. Love the hidden art work on the island cabinet door (my youngest just turned 26 and her artwork on my coat closet door is still there). I refused to wash the tiny finger prints off the bottom of my front window. One day they're grown but you still have memories of that one day long ago. I digress. I'm all about benches. I think it's character building for the kids and some adults to share spaces. I'm ambidextrous so once all the seating has taken place per left handers and right handers, I get the last place.

Yes. Tile also harbors moisture and often mold underneath.

I also thought double sink was not necessary because I don’t like getting ready with someone else in the bathroom . Counter space is more important .

The hatch machines are really a life saver! They keep our son in his room until it is green- green is his favorite color and means go go go!
