Bourke Street mall looked better then than it does today, lots of trees, garden beds and stylish light posts. None of those things exist today (except for the trees but not as much).

Was going to say the same. Bourke St mall looks like a boring dump today when compared to this.

Agreed, looks like somewhere people would genuinely want to gather, now it's a grey thoroughfare you just want to quickly get past. Who decided to ruin it?

They should definitely bring back the old time Bourke Street Mall. The life and energy it once displayed. I was a child when this was around.

So much has changed in 20 years! Z-Class on the 86 have not been seen for a long time, and neither have B-Class on the 96. The 111 went out of existence a while ago as well.

I really really really miss the old Bourke Street Mall there hasn't been anything even better since it's 1980's/pre 90's look...Such life to the area, especially around Spring or Summer times (although those brick paving seats could get very hot without the aid of the shady trees!). The spot now is abit of a dead zone now, not because of the lack of shoppers?! But the constant usage of grey and silver!!! There was also tourist touch screen Kiosks around Bourke Street Mall from 1990 onwards as well, had alot of fun with them thinking it was a video game of sorts. Wouldn't be caught dead down there now any longer than I need to be in 2019+.

As with Rundle Mall in Adelaide, they repaved the colorful mall with lifeless concrete pavers, nice & cheap & who wants to tend to those plants???

Trams were giving a nice old green colour but now all are White and can't even spot them until they come closer..
Omg..Hare Krishna still doing the same Bajan's on street like those days.. but they too got kicked out due to Corona and landlord issues..no more crows sways in city :(

I’m quite shocked that Z’s ran on the 86. Really, Z’s?

What a great video! Oh how Bourke St Mall has changed! The trams are different, the people are different, Melbourne is different, and I don't think it's in a good way! I look forward to watching more of your tram videos, meanwhile, check out my channel for trams and trains: th-cam.com/users/DC4916
