    Thank you very much for creating this series. I haven’t done anything with a Debian based OS in over a decade. I also have never set up a server before. The explanations of “why” we’re using a piece software and doing this in small steps is extremely helpful. Thanks!

    Thank's it's very interesting. but as soon as you do a lot of cconfig an installation. Could show how to make a backup of everything and / or a docked application. there a lot of time consuming installation note to take.

    This is a great series, I am so excited. I moved on from the pi and using a more "powerful" server to host all these small services just because, but it is really cool to see what a little pi can do. I followed another TH-camr who originally did rancher. I like rancher and think it is good to learn kubernetes. After a point in this series you can always go back and redo it with kubernetes and maybe show how to do a cluster? Make the hosted system redundant for patches and the like.

  • @paulwratt
    @paulwratt 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    the 32bit vs 64bit question might be why the original project had 2 servers - as for "docker compose", PodMan is a better container manager

  • @johnpetro6661
    @johnpetro6661 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice video. I use portainer, but mostly for container control, image/volume management, and a single place to look at logs, etc. Any container installs I use docker-compose on the command line. I did this because I ran into a couple of apps that wanted a docker-compose file version 3, and portainer-ce only supported versions 2 or lower. So for consistency, I just deployed my stacks on the command line.

    • @lbegert
      @lbegert 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      FYI, if you're in swarm mode, portainer supports compose v3 :), and also yacht supports v3

    I am not able to get homer to work. It installs okay but can not get the url to connect. I installed 64bit of portainer if that is what is breaking it. I tried both manually and by the template in portainer. In the contain log the error message is assets directory not writable. I was able to install guacamole with out issue.

However, I can't get VNC to work. I just keep getting 'Unable to connect to VNC server' in the log files. I have tried is a two different Raspberry Pi's which I can't connect with VNC viewer. Any suggestions.?

    Wondering if I could get some help. I have set up Guacamole and am attempting to connect to a Raspberry Pi using the VNC protocol. In Guacamole I have created the connection, and added a hpst name, port 5900, user name and password. For testing purposes I used the same credentials as on VNC Viewer. The credentials work; I can connect through VNC viewer. But with Guacamole I keep getting a "Remote server is currently unreachable error." I have spent a few hours research and have come up dry. Could anyone help out here? Thank you in advance.
