  • Sight Unseen has, until this point, been about first encounters with a previously unridden. In the third season, creator Brice Shirbach deepens the discovery journey by seeking not only a new trail, but also his first experience of Guatemalan culture. The visually stunning series encourages discovery, captures the flow state, and celebrates getting out of the comfort zone.

So I rode Guatemala and a couple of these trails last December. Be forewarned, that the bikes you rent are not great... and I hunted around. I got issued a jankey hardtail with questionable brakes on the last ride profiled here, albeit not from Old Town Outfitters. To get the most of the riding here, I would highly suggest bringing your own bike if possible. Antiqua is an awesome city with great food and the best coffee! And the Guatemalan people are fantastic.

Makes me want to visit Guatemala, entertaining video. However, while not unique to this video (or the sport), all the "skid porn" on what are presented as multi-use trails dating back centuries seems a little insensitive. If I were a local farmer or student who used these trails, I don't think I'd feel real happy with the gringos shredding them up.
