I kind of saw this coming. We’ve seen less and less of his character and when we did, you could tell that his health was failing, still very sad. RIP Bill Hayes (Doug Williams) you will be missed.
I feel bad about giving this a thumbs-up. This is so sad. I watched this show with my late grandmother and remember him singing with his real-life wife Susan Seaforth-Hayes (Julie). He was a great actor and he will be missed. DOOL will not be the same without him. RIP Bill, my respects to your beautiful wife,your entire family and the cast of Days Of Our Lives.
I'm 59 and grew up with my grandmother and the NBC soaps were always on and I loved Doug and Julie and loved knowing they were a real couple because they were so perfect together!!

I watched Days with my grandma back then. I remember when Julie’s mom Addie was still alive on the show. Doug and Julie have always been favorites! So sad.😢
Its like my fmly member has passed. I've been watching DOOL since it came on as a child. Ive learned all our manors through DOOL'S Ladies back in the day. We learned what good men are through Doug aka Bill. Our hearts are broken. 💔
So sad. I remember the romance with Addie and when she died he married Julie. Julie was such a gorgeous young woman and they were still an awesome couple . May he rest in Peace. 98 years is a good long run. A life well lived. Prayers for Susan’s comfort.
My late Mom watched Days from the beginning until her death in November 2017. And I also watched it from my playpen to now. As a 70s kid, I remember Doug and Julie and Doug's Place and Doug's friend Robert LeClair (played by the late Robert Clary); and of course Addie. I remember the one Christmas episode (1974, I think) when Doug was still grieving over Addie, and wasn't able to care for toddler Hope, and Julie told him to fight for Hope's sake. Addie gave her life to save Hope (a speeding car was headed straight for Hope's stroller, Addie pushed the stroller away as she was hit, and died from her injuries) and Doug felt so much guilt over Addie. That was a tearjerker; the writers knew how to write those scenes in those days with heart. Just saw the latest Christmas episode with Doug, Julie, the ornaments and him singing Christmas songs. I was hoping he would do a Christmas album, he still sang really well. Just the thought of not seeing him again on Days, makes me sad. I hope they write his death on the show as that he died in his sleep and Julie found him. Julie has also been helping Maggie cope with the death of Victor and I know that Maggie will be there for Julie, that would make a powerful story about friendship and family, and they become the matriarchs of Salem.

I'll date myself, but as a former long-time Days fan I remember it all. Susan wasn't the original Julie, I really liked the first actress and initially was disappointed by the recast. I quickly came to like Susan as Julie and liked Bill as Doug from the beginning. Those were the glory days, the storylines were wonderful and actually made you care about the characters and their dilemmas. That was long before the everyday "back from the dead" stupid storylines of today. RIP Bill and my sincere condolences to Susan and his family.

How great that he got to do that meaty possession story a few years ago. He had fun, and even though not all of us are fond of that story, it was fun watching him. Very sad. I'll make a prediction. Doug has been "upstairs resting" for a long while now. I wonder if he filmed an exit story. It would be classy, just like he was.

RIP sir.. Thank you for the memories. Somehow I came across this video & it took me right back to my childhood. I'm 56 now & would watch this with my Nan everyday at 1 pm like clock work. Can still hear McDonald Carey's voice as the Hourglass shot began the show. Fast forward 10 years later I'm in College my Nan lived 5 minutes from work & would go there everyday for lunch. So if course got into it again 😊 & discovered Hope Bray 😂. Funny thing is after work would get back to work & talk to the other college guys about Days lol... Thank you for your service Sir. & to whomever did this video thank you for bringing up wonderful memories of my childhood & college years.

RIP sir.. Thank you for the memories. Somehow I came across this video & it took me right back to my childhood. I'm 56 now & would watch this with my Nan everyday at 1 pm like clock work. Can still hear McDonald Carey's voice as the Hourglass shot began the show. Fast forward 10 years later I'm in College my Nan lived 5 minutes from work & would go there everyday for lunch. So if course got into it again 😊 & discovered Hope Bray 😂. Funny thing is after work would get back to work & talk to the other college guys about Days lol... Thank you for your service Sir. & to whomever did this video thank you for bringing up wonderful memories of my childhood & college years.
