Favorite perk is I only have to plan for myself. I am the person who is always the organizer/coordinator of the group or family trips. It is like herding cats lol. Planning my solo trips is so relaxing and a lot of fun. I only have to worry about me.
Thank you for watching, Cynthia! I agree. It’s nice to have a break when you’re the one who is usually the planner in group and family trips and functions. Solo traveling can be so relaxing! ❤️
I’m taking my first solo international trip in April, ( it’s now 2022). I have taken a couple of solo road trips before, but only visiting two or three states. Because of Covid restrictions, my husband and I have been postponing travel we would usually do. Since we are 73, we know the years we can confidently travel abroad are limited. We talked about the possibility of traveling separately to destinations each wanted to see more than did the other. I booked an 11 day group tour in Iceland, but I also reserved an additional 4 days to be there alone. My husband, so far, has chickened out of planning his own trip! I am so excited!
Thanks for your video! For me, the greatest benefits are only doing what you want to do and flexibility. I went on two trips to China, one six week and one four week trip. I loosely planned what I wanted to do, but if I was enjoying a place, I stayed a little longer there. There are no periods waiting on others waiting on others to wake up, get ready, or anything else. If you want to share your experience, you can blog or vlog, but if you don’t, you don’t have to. Of course, if you’re eating a wonderful meal or seeing a really cool landscape, sometimes you wish you could share this with someone special, but overall, you are free to do what you want to do and many times you may not be at that restaurant or mountain if your travel companion(s) don’t like that kind of food or enjoy hiking.
Thank you for sharing Scott! I absolutely love the flexibility of solo travel. Your China trips sound so lovely. And I totally agree with you, there are times where we wish we could share our special moments with someone else. Safe travels! 💕
Hi! Thank you for making such great content on solo travel! It’s been a dream of mine to travel and work from anywhere and I’m kicking things into gear in 2023!!
Your video could be one year old but it is benefiting me today! I am planning my first ever solo trip with your guidance. like you mentioned in one of your videos, I’m gonna start small. Going to do a two day trip and see how it goes. Thank you for your help
Before, I feel like traveling alone is being a loser, like nobody wants you. Well those were the days when I listened to society’s standards. Travelling is the healthiest way to travel. Offcourse travelling with friends and loved ones at times is still a great idea, but you definitely should trry to travel alone on some other times. You’ll gonna have a complete “me” time as you will not get distracted. In that way, you could make wiser decisions.
@1:21 was hilarious! Yep, I wanted to go to Tahiti or Bali last June and ended up in France because I asked my boyfriend who switched it to where he wanted to go. France was great, but I had been there before and to Europe many times. I really wanted to see a new part of the world, but nope, trip hijacked!
Thanks for watching! Any other awesome reasons why you would want to try solo travel?
