Great post. We have been brainwashed to believe love is enough. Half of us don't know what we were looking for. This video is very useful

Wonderful post, Ron. A tad late (about 18 years). There comes a time when everyone might be aware of differences but genuinely think that love conquers all. I am saving this for when my kids get into relationships. Thank you.

Agreed on all points Ron. In India the first important question is whether the female partner wishes to live in a joint family and respect parents of the male partner or not . Lots of cases are pending in all levels of the judiciary system, reason not discussing this before marriage.

Very interesting and I agree with most of what you said, however Ron from my personal experience falling in love is a beautiful experience which is outside your control. Yes marriage on the other hand is a very important decision but if you marry someone you live a lot of this gets taken care off. Both partners are more willing to make sacrifices and adjustments and a couple evolves over the years...views also evolve...you grow together. Respect and trust and integrity are very important values to see in the person you want to spend your life with, that's most important.

Oh you are very correct on these. Two many people go in with their heart, but the smart ones also go in with their HEAD.

Agree with you.... we tend to be over-optimistic about love. Love is first point of agreement, hence considerations... then a lot needs to follow....thanks for bringing this up.

Ron Malhotra has brought up few important points about the compatibility issues. However certain traits like a narcissistic personality can't be identified early. This is the most damaging trait and today at least we have videos on this topic on TH-cam.

Thankyou so much for coming out with this topic and I loved your analogy of tap water 😂 ....Its indeed most important topic in which most youngster have so many disorientations due to movies influence/peer pressure etc without truly knowing the challenges that come by not identifying the reasons and talking beforehand getting seriously involved, that can be cause for too much stress later. You gave very important points to discuss before deciding to marry and I also feel giving it time before finalising or saying a yes is best, coz like the saying goes - Speed is a test for distance and Time is a test for character, in as much to truly understand whether the person has values that are compatible to yours, whether they truly do what they say and truly say what they mean -congruence in thoughts words actions....and back here in India, one most important question I would also consider is How the person takes his/her Family, whether their family will have any say on all the topics you have so beautifully brought out and how much important will that be to let other family memebrs/relatives have a say on issues about married life of two... how does he /she handle conflicts when there are situations like "insecurity based actions" from any of family members? Does the person believe in having any Code of Honour for the family Etc.. and you very rightly mentioned about the losses, mental/physical/financial /kids....If things dont work out despite bilateral efforts... in that case are the two people liberal enough to consider doing a Prenuptial agreement as a last resort and safety valve as a Backup plan.... and this video would surely have a shorter learning curve and higher bounce in this topic for those who are looking forward to marriage :)) Loving Light, ❤
