I was introduced to Lawrence Arms through the Fat Club 7" series in 2001. When I heard them I immediately ordered the Apathy and Exhaustion from Fat Wreck and went to the local record store (Off the Record) and bought Cocktails and Dreams and Ghost Stories.
You can see that before listening to kid A he had lots of cliche in mind about Radiohead and after listening to the album he could make a comprehensive and really interesting point of view about what he heard. I think most most of us react like that, we make asumptions based on clichés because it is easier. But he is a really smart dude because even if it is not his type of music he was able to like it and understand it better !
Somehow this has been out for a long time and I never knew about it lol. Is kid a the best one... there are very good parts of kid a and amazing songs but cohesively as a band I think the later stuff is better. That first from the basement show is amazing such precision.
Last time I heard an album that made me want to go out and buy all their shit was definitely the Lawrence Arms
EXACTLY
Which album?
Oh! Calcutta! !

I like both bands. There is room for all good tunes.

Skeleton Coast 😖
me too. the singles that were released are incredible, i want the rest of it.
I listen to all sorts of music but Radiohead generally just bores the hell out of me.
I've never heard Kid A or any of Radiohead's album either. I just don't get them from what I've heard of them.
Funny, I was in this situation back when I first got into Lawrence Arms in early 00s. Kid A is great though!
Brendan’s speaking voice sounds nothing like his singing voice
I know right. Dude is an energetic genius!
Any idea what shoes Brendan is wearing?
Saucony
ha Kid A at a cocktail party. That could end tragically.

Brandon is a beauty. New album is tight!
ah man...the amount of conversations I have had to sit through about Radiohead and not care...left field or not, pretty whatever
So... you didn’t like creep... or... ?
So he has the same opinion about Creep as the guys who wrote it :P
Radiohead, hate creep to be fair.
Radiohead has gotten worse w time
Who gives a f about Radio head..TLA forever
An intellectual 3= funniest way to say foreplay music ! Thanks fellas. Radiohead still sucks even during foreplay!
Radiohead is way over rated. In Rainbows is great though.
