I have Malwarebytes Premium and Comodo Free Firewall, and Comodo Firewall helps a lot !! I would like to see this test with both Malwarebytes Premium and Comodo Free Firewall on the computer !! I am very happy with the results that I am getting with both of them on my computer !! But I must say that I have some issues with this channels testing !! Try Computer Solutions channel.
Not very strong. The two ransomware samples Leo picked to test are notorious and not fresh, and every decent AVs should be able to block them without signature. Sadly, Malwarebytes couldn't block the second one.
@@zlq4704 But he did intentionally cripple the protection to see how well the software protects the computer without all functions running. To clarify, when the ransomware was executed to shut down Malwarebytes, real time malware protection was turned off. When it was turned on Malwarebytes blocked it. I'd say when used correctly alongside basic internet sense, Malwarebytes is a really good antivirus if you want some extra protection and piece of mind. Definitley way better than Norton or McAfee lol

A good AV product should be able to block any malicious attempt to shut it down, which is essential. 3. As I already said, since these ransomware samples are very "famous", good AVs should be able to block them with or without signature.

There are a lot of technicalities involved in conducting these tests accurately and every product behaves differently to them. If it was as simple as pushing a button, I'd do it, but it's not. It takes a lot of work and I'm trying to get there as much as you are. These tests will also be available as a product for anyone to use so exciting stuff coming up. Just be patient. :)

I run malwarebytes premium along side paid f-secure and it's really effective. I've literally only discovered one file that was malicious (it just randomly appeared in my downloads) and as soon as I ran a malware scan using malwarebytes it was quarantined.
Would love to see it try and block fresh live samples instead of old samples that are already in database. A lot of these tests are done with old samples which should be blocked.
As a Malwarebytes Premium customer, I’m very happy with these results. I use Malwarebytes on macOS, and was going to purchase a Windows license as well, but unfortunately they do not yet have support for ARM based systems.

I remember a long time ago when zone alarm was all the rage by those that didnt know any better.. and could be turned off by visiting the wrong website, when this happened its icon in the task bar changed to an X on a red background, it also collected telemetry without the user knowing storing it in a file called IAM.DB, and phoning home...

I contacted Malwarebytes after watching your last video on the MSDT URL protocol exploit and asked them if they can stop this attack. That was the day your video came out and I still didn’t here back from them. There customer support is terrible and unless they improve it, along with them being able to protect against the kind of exploit you ran in this test, I’m going to drop them when my year subscription is done. But that is not to say that I still don't get viruses, because in September of 2021, I got a virus with a paid version of Bitdefender on my computer.

According to AV Comparatives in their latest test, Malwarebytes had the greatest number of false positives of any AV they tested (44) while Microsoft had none.
Malwarebytes was once a good option in the early 2007-ish time. These days I don't exactly feel the same, I remember back than being surprised to see them push an update on Christmas. I though it was some real dedication, it impressed me, and it was a great piece of software. Malwarebytes hasn't lived up to that image in nearly a decade and most of its hype seems to due to the former name/legacy.
AV-Comparatives sends what they found to the vendors so they can improve their products. In this case Malwarebytes surely put the FPs on their white list. I've enjoyed Malwarebytes for years without issues. A few times it detected malware and removed it. I did an after-scan with the free Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool and it detected no malware. 🙂
I see that Malwarebytes has improved over the past year, I have been using it since 2014 with a lifetime license for 12 computers, great. It's still fine for me. :D

I was running reverse shell on my friends computer (with his permission) and malware bytes did not detect it, It was via a DLL being called at system level, no encoding. (used meterpreter) I was speechless. Honestly it was probably some kind of fluke but still. FYI this was 2 years ago.

If you're seriously considering using any home version software you're much better off just using Windows defender and learning how to tweak the settings for maximum protection.

I coded a malware that encrypts files,deletes them, and all directories subdirectories and files in your current directory (usually the Desktop) and there’s no way to ecrypt/retrieve the files either without paying lots of money for a technician.
In the microsoft store is ubuntu as an app. Do you know how that works? Is it like a virtual machine or what? Is it the same as just installing ubuntu or much slower? What about security (malware viruses or Trojans) if I browse from the dd ubuntu app??
I want to ask that, can a restore point help in case of any Malware, Ransomeware, Trojan etc. if it was created before the attack? also will it help in case if windows corrupt completely ?
So what's other options then? Complete Disk Image copy on another offline (disconnected) external drive? And how frequent we should we backup? Twice a day? Other things that I think got a little to no attention in malware prevention are system wide Ad-Blocking through Host file (with the addition of Browser Extension, e.g. uBlock, etc.) and email protection. All this means malware is immediately blocked from traversing the network, even within the same VLAN or same subnet - a unique protection not offered by any other solution.

Malwarebytes is trash. Same for Norton as well Watch Siam Alam and J Itech Solutions to see how it sucks against 0 day ransomware. Even a less known AV like Wisevector Stopx is better.

Try adding some benign files within your script and see if there are false positives.

Kaspersky is way better, my only concern about it is that it's Russian.

In the microsoft store is ubuntu as an app. Do you know how that works? Is it like a virtual machine or what? Is it the same as just installing ubuntu or much slower? What about security (malware viruses or Trojans) if I browse from the dd ubuntu app??

I want to ask that, can a restore point help in case of any Malware, Ransomeware, Trojan etc. if it was created before the attack?
also will it help in case if windows corrupt completely ?
Restore points can be infected or even removed
Ransomwares almost always disable System Restore and delete the Shadow Copies, with few exceptions.
So what's other options then? Complete Disk Image copy on another offline (disconnected) external drive? And how frequent we should we backup? Twice a day?
Other things that I think got a little to no attention in malware prevention are system wide Ad-Blocking through Host file (with the addition of Browser Extension, e.g. uBlock, etc.) and email protection.

Depends on what version you're running some of the versions are better than others on Malwarebytes I use the premium VPN version

Malwarebytes is great as a scanner while Bitdefender or Kaspersky are great as AV + Firewall.

Malwarebytes catch 9 of PUM.Optional.DisallowRun during memory scan, luckily I removed it and my explorer doesn't crash again. But could this code come from hackers?
