Xcelerator was open and running at park open this morning. I got a few rides on it (first train of the day) and it was still up and running around 10am when I left. .
I just wanted to tell you thank you for keeping your awesome iconic intro. Also I hope I get to meet you in person one of these days. You do an awesome job on the Knott’s videos. Also I am looking forward to see what Knott’s will do in 2024.
Thanks. I appreciate that. Is it the intro song you like? Or the graphics too? I've been thinking about updating the graphics at some point. But isn't high priority. And, yeah, maybe we'll meet up some day.
I was there tonight (Friday 11/24), Xcelerator was running the whole time - 3 hour wait time so we just ate dinner and left - park was crazy busy with all parking lots full (VIP, hotel lot, and both overflow lots were full and closed) - we had to park in grass overflow in main lot
I got my digs in Knotts early last week because I knew how busy it was gonna be this week during the Thanksgiving holiday. Rode Xcelerator, Hangtime, Silver Bullet, Jaguar, Log Ride, Sky Cabin, Las Valores, Dragon Swing, Supreme Scream, and Ghostrider.
I think it's a multitude of things. I was told the reason it was down when I was there for this vlog was because there was a rollback. Which isn't very surprising because it was going over the top fairly slowly. And when I was there a couple weeks ago for the opening day, I was told that the train wasn't sitting in the station properly. So a lot of sensor issues I'm guessing.
Judging by the area in Camp Snoopy walled off. Do you think will remove/relocated the airplane ride once the Knott’s Merry Farm is over. Maybe holding off closing it till when it’s less busy. Still hate the absolute lack of communication from the park about projects. So weird not to want to hype anything up.
But, unless they got stronger LSMs, they'd need to do a swing launch of some sort. I'd had to see that happen. Xcelerator has one of the best launches.
There’s already 2, one that leads to the train station and the other goes to ghost town - you really need a third option? Plus where would it go? Only other spot would be right through the ride queue
I mean, the station and queue were completely clear of guests. So it was more than just a short downtime as people waited. And two weeks ago I lost track of how many times it went down. Almost everything on the ride has been replaced. It should be having all these issues. I blame Intamin. There are much older coasters at Six Flags Magic Mountain which a super reliable. Aside from Superman -- which is Intamin.
Knotts is getting a bit ridiculous. They need to complete and do 1 project at a time instead of having multiple sections of the park under construction for long periods at the same time.
If you can't find a place to sleep because your hotel sign isn't big enough: tell me you're ok by giving me your opinions about Maverick; I'll recognize you're ok if your opinions match. 2 Hints: 1: they're rare and 2: I agree. 😉
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork Since the ride is more than just a top hat, maybe they could change the layout and add a standard lift hill. They could turn it into a conventional coaster with a top hat element and a rolling launch that precedes the top hat, like Velocicoaster does? Lose the hydraulic nonsense.
I went on Xcelerator today and it closed the first time I was in line, but I came later and it was open

Got 3 rides on Xcelerator yesterday and it was everything I could ask for. Definitely my favorite in the park.

Very entertaining and fun to watch. Thanks for posting this.
Glad you enjoyed it!

I rode Xcelerator 3 times in row yesterday at Park opening and 4x in one hour last week. By noon, the line was 2-3 hours.
Oh that's awesome! Yeah, I need to get there at park opening again.
What causes Xcelerator to break down so much? Is it the cable car? The magnets?

Yeah it feels like the airplane ride will go behind walls at some point too.
Going on Wednesday. It better be operational at some point in the day.
🤞
Xcelerator breaking down is regular thing, like all hydraulic launches They probably should have just converted it to a LSM launch like Top Thrill 2.
But, unless they got stronger LSMs, they'd need to do a swing launch of some sort. I'd had to see that happen. Xcelerator has one of the best launches.
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork LSM's have more than enough power if you add enough or alternatively sequence a secondary boost.
It would be kind of cool if the construction under Silver Bullet was going to be a new walking path.
There are already multiple routes near and around SB - you really need another one?
A small path would be kinda nice.

To say not "running at all" is a little misleading, I mean downtime is expected at this point in its life lol

Agreed. And their lack of transparency is a bit frustrating.

I'm thinking, Xcelerator may be a lost cause at this point
Sadly. It's feeling that way!
