  • We are back with the John Deere 770A Grader to see whether it will start up after letting all the oil drain back down.

Mate, so many people around these days who think they are so smart and know everything. BUT if their internet filed they would be buggered and people like YOU who actually know real stuff would come out on top, with food, with know how and with a smile.

Gday, bloody fantastic to see the grader going again, you can’t beat old technology, fuel, air and compression and it’ll run, pretty lucky there wasn’t any more damage in the tandem and shouldn’t be to bad to fix, great job mate, looking forward to the next episode, cheers

Just watched your video’s on the grader mishap, being a retired dozer operator I know that ‘shit happens in the bush’, good job getting the grader out and back to the shed. Was there any damage to the mouldboard or ‘A’ frame? Regards

Good job bloke, old gear is so much better than the rubbish they put out now I’d be so much happier working on old mechanical gear hahahaha

Workin alone is one of the greatest paths to innovation and problem solving and you demonstrated that in this and your other videos. Well done. Col John ex farmboy!

Thanks for the update on the grader I’ve been looking forward to it. Hang on to all your old equipment as it could take that sort of licking and keep on ticking. Even simple things like the split rims on your patrol are disappearing. It would have taken you half a day to pull off all the hoses pipes and fittings before you would have even be able to see the injectors on most of this new machines I just did exactly the same with a spanner to get the fuel cut solenoid out of my old 3l engine hilux. 3 degrees here yesterday morning in southern tassie a bit different to when you had finished loading all the bits and pieces on the lick truck. Best wishes. Oh ps I’ve pulled glow plugs out to do the same thing on a land cruiser engine that got caught in a rising creek.

Glad that was all it was wrong and glad it made it home. I used to run a Deere grader like that but it was smaller, older and no turbo but it would do the job. CHEERS from an old hillbilly diesel burner!
