This is what sim devs need to understand. Most of us will want a game-like experience in our sim. You need that progression and compelling online features. GT has that. I hope this provides something similar.

Took me forever to build my sim collection. I'm only missing a couple games I really want, if I exclude rally racing sims which I'll probably get some time later. AC is easily my favorite driving sim. I usually just do some quick races against AI, try my luck against the trolls who "race" online, do an online track day, or just cruise around on the Shutoko Revival Project's Wangan highway system. But this is easily the greatest mod for the game I have ever seen. Gran Turismo was my education in racing, and just watching this video is giving me anxiety (in a good way). I can't wait to try this out!
I'd say the menus look a bit tacky, but it *is* early access and I'm sure they're just working on core features before polishing up the rest later. Should be cool when it's all done!
This mod looks epic. Lot of effort to put in so I may do a clean install and try this out. Love Gran Turismo and this looks the closest PC version so far. Maximum respect to the creator.
this just goes to show there is a market for a real GAME built on a sim title. its a shame that we pretty much have to choose between proper sim driving OR an actual fun game with progression and such. with what has been accomplished with AC in the last 8 years its definitely time for that to change. and what alex is doing with this whole project is very impressive. im not sure if car customization is being done here or if its planned, but its definitely possible with what ive seen from "ac car tuner". the basic functionality is there for adding forced induction, changing spring/damper rates, tires, aero, weight, brakes, etc.... pretty much anything you can find in cars "data" folder can be controlled by a 3rd party program. (ac car tuner creates a second version of the base car so the original car files remain intact). of course the visual changes would be a bit harder as you would need 3d models for every single piece, but i know shaders patch has the capability of doing some of that. i think in my dream world, kunos would make AC2 just like this. a real game like gt, forza, sega gt, nfsu where you actually buy, own, and customize cars, but also be a proper driving sim with the good physics, ffb, and vr.
makes me want to re install this game and go through the headache of modding it, If you were to say make an installer, like from scratch or a blank game, Id be all in
Same here. All the modding gets to be a lot. Especially with all the different versions of all the different mods. Sometimes you just want a game you can switch on and not worry about.
Last time I saw this, it was just the announcement and a demo of how things will work, the developer had not even started on the mod yet. I am quite surprised at how much he has done so far, will probably get it in a few months once there's quite a lot of work done to it.

AssettoCorsa with mods have a big advantage for the free Roam and the StreetRacing & Drift Szene !!! Sadly nothing competitive in Sim like that on the consoles. #GranTurismo7 hope it comes with some new features like AC free roam, Touge battle.. and some newer cars like on AC or Forza Horizon (RS7,430GranCoupe,S5,e36,Golf3Vr6,Benz E-Coupe,w203 C55 CLK,Cayan...) not only same Racing Cars and Circuits like on #GranTurismoSport

Sony should release GT on the pc, easy as that. Yes it's not their platform but alot of racing fanns would like to give it a change. Also manny are not buying a ps5 (if you can get one) just to play GT. If they port the game to PC with servers or modding that game will be worth easly 100 euros. I hope Sony someday sees the light and just does it.

Good work.. hard job, but for me, I dont need it, just give me tracks, cars, most real physics and real force feedback, add the best res possible making it as real as posible and booom... you have it.. good IA, a nice online lobby and you have the best sim available...
Here we are in 2023 and the closest game to GT career mode wise on PC has got to be Forza Motorsport 7, which don't get me wrong is a great game and is optimized very well... but it doesn't quite scratch that GT itch in terms of features, style, the feeling of actual car ownership and it's not even available for purchase anymore. I'd be far more interested in playing games like AC and PC2 if they were structured like this mod. I personally have zero interest in multiplayer and driving race cars is only something I want to do on occasion. I need more driving sims on PC that let us buy new or used cars that we could use in real life, but allow us to do the things we wouldn't do with them in real life. Bonus points if we have mod support for custom maps and cars too. I'd spend thousands of hours playing something like that.
I'm a huge Gran Turismo 7 but the racing engine is too shallow compared to Asseto Corsa or even P.Cars, so those are my racing games of choice now. But then, both have terrible video game experience compared to GT or even Forza, while iRacing and others are completely focused on multiplayer, and very expensive. Is it really too much to ask: a polished video game experience and with a decent racing-sim engine? Even what this mod proposes is already that, albeit very poorly made compared to an actual game.
100% he should add a driving school and driving license that would be so cool, also the endurance races and maybe some challenges? like start last with +30 secs and finish first or something like that
I know many have been looking for this and the AC core game is an excellent system, but the AI are just god awful which is why I don’t play AC at the moment unless I’m looking for just a pure driving experience. If there is a way we could continue to improve the AI this would be the ultimate game changer, but because of this I feel it’s limited. Best of luck to the modder, but it’s a pass for me for these reasons…

You guys should see how the mod is now, it's been one year and seeing this video its SO OUTDATED, the mod was amazing back then but now it's even more awesome, i recoment you guys go check it out, the UI has been overhauled, there are so many new features and races, doesn't even compare to this anymore!
This doesn't look like it would have VR. As far as I can tell this is just a very involved launcher, only when you enter a race would VR kick in like usual Edit: I bought in, this is exactly how it works
One thing I don't understand about the sim racing community is how it's the only modding community where paywalled mods are rampant and the players do absolutely nothing about it. Makes the niche even less accessible. Maybe it has to do with the overall elitism of sim racers who are like "ahaha, we are so rich and superior that we pay for mods while all other kinds of games have them for free! hahaha!" but there could be some other ulterior reason. I'm not completely against monetizing mods, hell, I'm of the opinion that you should always capitalize on your hobbies if possible, but fully paywalling your mods is just shitty. At least provide a freeware version with some (not all) features locked or allow patrons to get updates early, whatever. Content Manager does it really well and they even got me to buy the full version on itch, something I'll never do with a 100% paywalled mod.
@@kak8895 Pretty much... I still play GT5/6 but even then it's mostly for car collecting, tuning, and hot-lapping. Racing against the AI is rarely fun because they're so badly programmed. Either they're slow as molasses and you wind up lapping them, or they get rubberband catchup and then pit maneuver you going 5600 mph which naturally spins you out while they suffer zero traction loss.
The only thing I don `t like is that you have to pay a monthly subscription to play a pirate version of a copyright protected product whitout licence, and trade marks...well, very nice, full of bugs, and is a way to pay someone for do nothing.
Developers - We finally finish this Mod. It will be available next month. Polyphony - We are launching Gran Turismo 7 for PC next month. I wish 🤞 it happens someday.

One thing I don't understand about the sim racing community is how it's the only modding community where paywalled mods are rampant and the players do absolutely nothing about it. Makes the niche even less accessible. Maybe it has to do with the overall elitism of sim racers who are like "ahaha, we are so rich and superior that we pay for mods while all other kinds of games have them for free! hahaha!" but there could be some other ulterior reason. I'm not completely against monetizing mods, hell, I'm of the opinion that you should always capitalize on your hobbies if possible, but fully paywalling your mods is just shitty. At least provide a freeware version with some (not all) features locked or allow patrons to get updates early, whatever. Content Manager does it really well and they even got me to buy the full version on itch, something I'll never do with a 100% paywalled mod.

@@Housesider That's what's going to make GT7 useless asides the online experience. What good is the single player campaign if the AI isn't fun.
@@kak8895 Pretty much... I still play GT5/6 but even then it's mostly for car collecting, tuning, and hot-lapping. Racing against the AI is rarely fun because they're so badly programmed. Either they're slow as molasses and you wind up lapping them, or they get rubberband catchup and then pit maneuver you going 5600 mph which naturally spins you out while they suffer zero traction loss.
@@kak8895 They just announced that Sony AI will work with them to make Gran Turismo AI, so I think GT7 will have a great AI

The only thing I don `t like is that you have to pay a monthly subscription to play a pirate version of a copyright protected product whitout licence, and trade marks...well, very nice, full of bugs, and is a way to pay someone for do nothing.

@@olavofernandes7286 it will happen someday. Playstation has changed his mind and created Playstation PC LLC. It started with ports of games that were released years ago on PS4 but the exclusivity time will be reduced day by day. It shouldn't be strange to see the PC version of GT7 on 2023.
