Yes, CAL 2 is an aptitude test ideally applicable for "green dogs" -- Bacco has earned his IGP BH; one can infer that he will be trained for the various levels of the sport.
True that, the test have elements of sport work that needs to be trained, thats why if you familiar with videos of untrained dogs that perform this test in Europe- they all look like shit - dogs dont know what to do with it - sleeve presentation and specially the drive of the dog is a sport element. In USA, this was first time the test done, as it it must be judged by Italian judge only. All 13 dogs that passed it all trained previously dogs🤷🏽♀️ it is what it is, the test not suitable in my opinion for puppies and no one gonna sit and wait and dont train dogs until they mature. This test is super simple but like i said have sport elements. We test green dogs differently, this CAL test is something to do for fun and support IGP community on the way
Any recommendations for a cane corso showing aggression out of no where. My 3 year old was laying on the couch and leaned over to pet his head and he went after his hand very aggressive. My wife also went to pet him and he peed a little when she leaned over the couch to see where it went he went after her face. He has also shown aggression by his food. I can understand the food aggression but the other times is just scary!
This is a complicated answer to give you since much more info needed, however from your description the first thing that i see that in BOTH incidents humans applied themselves to a dog ( one of the times a sleeping dog). You may think this is out of nowhere however there is never things happen out of nowhere - there is always signs leading to the behaviour and you simply may did nit knew how to read those signs and what to do with it. I highly recommend you to speak with a trainer that knows working breeds and even better Cane Corso. You also welcome to write me an email and we can schedule a consultation via FaceTime. If you dont do nothing about adjusting your household members behaviours things will get worse.
@@ivyleaguekennelcanecorsowith my son my corso was awake sitting on his chest with his head up and my son reached over while his head was there and my dog seen his hand coming at him. With my wife he was sitting facing her and after he peed she leaned over to look and he went after her face. He is not fixed but we are looking into that as a possible help. I work with him a lot and have him out on walks and playing to get out his energy. Thanks for replying!! I also use a prong collar and have an e collar when I have him off leash just in case anything ever occurs. We have 2 cats and a French bulldog and never any aggressive behavior towards them. I get worried even with my 3 year old walking past him now when he’s laying. I had a corso like 15 years ago and never had any incidence like this with my previous male. I have a few video shorts of my dog. I know my dogs parents are more of the working line so that may contribute too possibly.
Even worse…:( but like i said, much more information needed to properly assess the situation. Something is deff way off - kids are always off limit for cane corso naturally, a proper tempered cane corso. More than that i can tell you that most our dogs are with families with kids and love kids “abuse”, nit just tolerate it, but love it. That been said the breed is deff overpopulated and as a trainer first i see way too many dogs with issues ( those usually dont even have a proper cane corso type).. so there is that.
That dog and your ability to work him is impressive.
Thank you very much! He is super cool dog , easy to train and handle:)
I love me some bacco! Pretty cool
Thank you! Im grateful to be at the end of his leash - he is very cool individual
