She’s living her best plant life in her new pot! Gorgeous! The struggle is real! I almost had to have my hubby help me the other day wrestle with my Thai Con, but I eventually got her out. I don’t know about the next time she needs to be repotted though 😆.
Wow!! My jaw dropped when you were holding her/setting her down & literally, I swear, 1 extra foot of her popped up 🤣 21:16 when she was finally on the floor. She is a beaut! Fantastic job Melissa! ✨🌱 I got my Hoya Linearis in pon… testing it out and she is grow-ING wow! 😍 Ready to try other plants in pon👀🤞🏻
I had same scenario trying to get mine out. Had to take a hammer and gentle tap on pot’s edge all around. Barely any pon fell out. Lol All encased in the roots. But Morticia is so happy now.
Beautiful plant! You inspired me to put my albo cutting in pon and oh my word she LOVES IT! So much growth since. I'm so in love with the albo. Thanks for the inspo and doing what you do Melissa!
She's gorgeous and now has so much room to grow so much bigger for you 💕 can't wait to see her growth in another year, if you don't have to chop her before then ❤
I have to repot my monstera and extend my pole. When I put it together it was leaning way forward and it’s getting tippy so it’s time to fix it and I’ve decided tomorrow is the day.
I have been in a substrate conundrum for months now. But today I repotted quite a few hoyas and was stunned at the growth in PON since May. Just clumps of roots. I had some that was in other substrates and just no where near the growth. The word "stunned" is accurate. Melissa, I heard another youtuber talk about a spiral copper bracket that holds the plant in place. Not sure if it would work or not. I am a "little plant" girl, so don't know a thing. Trust me on that one. :-) Gorgeous plant! I kept thinking "I hope her husband walks in" because that was a two-person job for sure! But you did it!!!!!!!! I was so happy watching you pull that out of there and to see the roots even on the little feet. Just nuts!!! :-)
Hi Melissa! Gorgeous monstera but oh you made me laugh at your fast action slapping of the pot while wrestling her out! 😅😅😂 Those were impressive roots! Such a plant nerd thing to say 😂! Glad we can all be plant nerds together!
Your plant is so beautiful that it looks fake. I’m saving up so I can order some of your Pon and very excited to see if I have the success that you do. Another fabulous video.
@@maryellenschall7426 I have a couple on bamboo stakes and they do seem better and much less expensive. I will try the metal green pole too. Thanks for the idea!
I would use anything that isn't a coir pole. Coir poles have a big problem of rotting after a few months and becoming essentially useless. For my monstera I've actually skipped the whole "support in the pot" thing and just have it held up with some yarn. It's currently being held up by the shelf above it. That also means that it's more of a struggle when I need to move it, but honestly the thing is so massive I haven't been bothered to even try to move it in months.
You can buy coir poles that have a "pvc end" I have one for my monstera aurea. I'll probably invest in some more of those though because yeah the clear poles are more wobbly and adds up! Here's the pole for my aurea: www.amazon.com/dp/B0BYHXGY85?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzmeli0992-20&creativeASIN=B0BYHXGY85&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.27D4Z5CKST4WL&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d_asin
@@plantsbymelissa I have a couple of those too. My problem is that they need to sit so deep into the pot so they are stable. Most of my pots are not that deep (unusually deep).
I have a Baby Thai constellation that came in soil. I want to put her in Pon, beacause most of my plant are in pon and i just find it easyer to care for, but i am so scared that she will rot. Should i repot her in pon or should i leave it in soil?😅🙈
She's beautiful, Melissa!! I was wondering why you chose pon over your aroid mix? I have a baby albo and I'm wondering if I should try pon - she hasn't put a new leaf since I got her a few months back 🙃
Hi Melissa! Can you please tell me what size are those containers you have there for your pon? I like how they’re still kinda small-ish but looks like it could hold a lot. Also what kind of clear tape did you use for the support pole? Thanks so much!
Hi Melissa, thanks for another great video! I've always been meaning to ask- how do all of your monsteras' leaves not get any sun damage in front of your south facing window? I was inching my monstera closer and closer towards my south facing window and today I thought she was ready. So I put her in some direct sun for a hot second and her leaves got one or two speckles of sun damage 😭😭😭
Great video Melissa. Your monstera Albo is gorgeous. I also put my monstera Thai con into pon. It seems to love it.. I can’t believe the roots on your monstera.. do you have a link to these self watering pots? They are beautiful . ThankYou ❤❤
Thank you! I know the roots grew like crazy! I still have my other monsteras in aroid mix but tempted to do more in pon hehe. You may want to replace the plastic with a nice piece of oak from Home Depot or somewhere, so she has better support. I use one for mine and really like it.
Love your videos! Any suggestions on how to keep your albo white? I have a few albo pothos and the variegation is turn more yellow like a Thai Monstera
Question, are you just using the thiccly moss poles with no moss on this plant? Do you have a video that shows the beginning of this gorgeous plant’s journey?
Yes, it was just for support. I have too many moss poles to manage to keep watered :) I'll have to look back I think I put her in pon in a Q/A video I did but I don't think I did any follow up video on it. I just showed updates in my "plant update" videos. th-cam.com/video/kjQjYUmfQUA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=FJq2ja6HB5LbMka0
Do you have a video when you switched over your monstera albo into pon? I could really use some help with mine. She was thriving and now slowly growing with smaller leaves. 😢
I think I put her into pon in a q/a I did but it came from a water propagation so all I did was fill up around. Try more light + nutrients for bigger growth 😁
This repot had me STRESSED 😂😂 she’ll be so happy in the bigger pot :))

haha yeah the bigger pots get to be a lot! Hopefully your Thai con can stay in its home for awhile 😆🫶
The struggle is real😂
She’s big & beautiful Melissa! You may need a green 6’ garden stake from a big box store to support that monstera weight. Thanks for sharing Melissa!
I was thinking the same thing! 😂
Only expensive acrylic rods for Melissa.
You should have named the first part of the video “watch me wrestle my big monstera albo” 🤣She’s gorgeous!
haha yes! good title for this 😆🫶
New video alert!!!! Happy Saturday y’all!
🥳 Happy Saturday!!
It's Sunday there in Australia 😊😊

But hello insomnia my friend! Melissa posted a new video!😂

aww I'm sorry thanks for your support 🥺💕

Time to tackle it! 💪 good luck & have fun! 💕
WOW! Such a beautiful plant! I love seeing the progress of your plants! Thanks for sharing your repotting! hehe 🥰
Thanks so much 😊
I used a large birch pole and it worked perfect.
Mine is two vines too. And each puts out a leaf at the same time. I want to repot and extend the pole before it puts out a new leaf.

Me too!! 😁
I would like to ask if there is an alternative to the clear poles. They just seem way to expensive to use this way. Would a coir pole work as well?
A bamboo stake or a metal green pole is even better. I used plastic but too crazy to add extensions. I tied it to bamboo on the back.

Was hoping some roots had grown out the bottom so I could see what to do about mine!! If they had, would they have been ripped off?
Hey, you got your workout for the day! 😂
For sure hehe 😉
What do you do to make those leaves shine!!?❤
It's just water mixed with some castile soap :) I use dr. bronzers - you can pretty much get it anywhere here or online.

how come you didn’t break up the root ball??
No need to 😁 It will just add stress to the plant. The roots will grow out and fill in the empty space as it continues to grow.

Don't remember where you got that cute shirt. Why do you not put moss in the pole?
The shirt is from a tiktok shop :) I have too many "moss" poles lol
I have one but it's not like that I put it in the window

I love that thiccly opens in the front but they do not cooperate at all 😅 I know this struggle too well
Yeah the clips are a little hard to attach and stay in place but it would have been easier with just one vine 🙈
