Great video! I had the steering angle replaced on my E60 recently & I was curious about the wheel removal procedure. I usually do all of my own work but since the car is still under warranty I gave the job to my mechanic. If I ever have to remove any of these components in the future I'll be good to go thanks to your video!!
hi Derrick, in my case yes, the dealer told me that it needs to be changed always, im not sure how true that is. in the older bmw's it did not have to be changed, but in these newer bmw's it might have to be changed.
Is the active steering sensor located in the clock spring? Dealer told me a have a faulty active steering sensor and its $1300. to repair. If it's in the clock spring then I will order the whole housing which is cheaper.
did you have problems with some warning light poping up? do you maybe need to calibrate it with a bmw pc program? or i doesn't need any programing? just change clock spring put everything togheter??

Good word on using the extension...mine was super tight.
Great video bud. Thanks for your help.
Very nice job, and hell no I’m not laughing. I’d use whatever it takes to get the job done.

exactly what i needed thx man :)
Isn't that a metric bolt? You need to use metric socket unless you want to screw up the bolt.
Hello, very helpful video! Does the clockspring need to be replaced in an event the front steering wheel airbag is deployed?

When i turn my steering wheel to the sides my traction control turns off. Was that happening to you before you replace the clock spring?
so if my air bag deployed I have to get a new clock spring also ?
We have different steering wheels but i have the same car as you ?
glad i can help
Do you need to disconnect the battery first?
yes, always disconnect battery first.
What is the socket size to remove the steering wheel?
this is a late response but maybe helpful for someone in the future, it is 16mm.
Do you need to disconnect the battery

Unless u want a airbag in your face
Thanks
