Watched you and sajam's streams of this game, and after having this game sit in my steam wishlist the past 3 years, I finally picked it up. I played in one of the weekly online tournaments the discord hosts this week, and had a lot of fun. This might actually be my favorite fighting game out there right now, so I thank you for helping me in making the decision to get it.
Honestly, I'm with ya. The character designs themselves aren't nothing all too special but how the visuals of the characters, stages and animations fit together is nice. Then again it's not the first time I've seen this visual style so that might be why I'm not totally blown away by it
Yeah, pair that with the movement speed of the animations, the pace of the combat. Its creates a discordiant 'lo-fi' feeling that feels really awkward for a fighting game.
Great video love this game a ton, wish I had more time to play. Speaking of games I love, have you heard of EN-Eins Perfektewelt, the sequel to Akatsuki Blitzkampf? It's a great game, and it should be checked out.

Is it just me or am I not seeeing what everyone else does in these character designs? Which makes me feel bad because I hear nothing but praise.
They are very "nothing" designs
The characters themselves don't stand out as much as they contribute to the aesthetics of the overall game. Also the sound design is incredibly limp.

@@Mind_Crimes D'ya know what? That's a darn good way to describe it. Smooth, satisfying but ultimately too mellow to fit properly with a fighting game
