Hello All, Been away this past weekend so will be spending some time tomorrow replying to comments and working on some members content. I've tried to trim some of the repetitive information out of this video normally where one video ends and another starts in some cases given how i phrased it is just not possible, but i will be bearing this im mind when i write future scripts to try and make these longer videos more seamless.
Ok probably a stupid question....but do the kings and queens make a new crown whenever they accent . Or do they choose from a number of special crowns with meaning behind them, basically what's the hole deal behind the crowns in game of thrones. It's obvious it's not like the British crown that's the same one the hand for centuries and they just add to it when they got given meaningful jewels. 🤔 Be interesting to see all the British or game of thrones crowns from as far back as we can go and maybe the meanings behind things. One other question I have is the 7 kingdoms were under the targarions for thousands of years.....no industrial revolution,? You would think they would have grown beyond the dark ages ,we see one broken down windmill in the show , but what about water wheel driven forging hammers and blowers , what about irrigation system and we didn't see any crops in the shows , around every castle would have been many fields and farms or wood mills, mines
I heard Quinn the GM say that he was the most nothing king, but I think he was pivotal in many events of not only house Targaryen but Westeros due to some careless actions. He was a good man but made family decisions that set The Mad King reign in motion. If he had lived longer, married his intended bride from house Tully, or arranged great marriages for his children, who knows how the dynasty would have been impacted. For all we know they would have lasted decades longer, maybe even another century. Also Maekar made one of the best crowns in my opinion.
Like you I don't necessarily agree with the idea he was a nothing king, while it is true he didn't have time to really do much there were a few things he did that were pivotal in setting up Aerys ii reign and ultimately the downfall of House Targaryen. Given more time there is a lot he could have done. But more so there were lots choice he made when he was still a Prince that really set Westeros on the path to Robert.
@@WorldOfWesteros I agree. When he said nothing king I believe he meant it as forgettable. Yes he was an interesting character who could have been one of the greats like so many others if certain events or circumstances didn't transpire.

I like Jaehaerys II. Sure he couldn't do much given his health later on but, I'd say he could've been a good king if he had more time. I understand why he wed his kids, though maybe some more insight could've made the realization that other matches likely would've been just as advantageous
I feel like we're all united against max (HBO) in saying keep the budget large and 10 episodes or they're making a monumental mistake that will be remembered for decades. They'll never live down GoT so maybe they don't care anymore about legacy or fame.
I've heard a wild theory that the Targaryen line ended with Baelor, and the returned Viserys the 2nd was a fake targaryen from lys with valyrian blood, therefore, house Blackfyre are the rightful heirs to the throne since Daemon Blackfyre's mother was the daughter of Aegon the 3rd, wild theory to think about.
I have also heard of the fake Viserys theory. If this were to be true, “Viserys2” could simply claim the throne based on a very peaceful conquest. Based on the way all of his descendants behaved, it was clear that he passed down the Targaryen madness gene though. Daemon B couldn’t inherit from a female line. Hell a lot of folks don’t realize that after Aegon 2 dies, that’s actually the end of Viserys 1 line and the line shifts to his brother Daemon and his sons. It doesn’t shift to Rhaenyra even though she is the co parent to Daemon. The line can’t pass through a woman.
That wouldn't make any sense considering aegon 3 would have recognized if his brother was a fake and I don't think it makes a lot of sense for them to install a random lys person especially when it was unlikely for him to be king and visarys didn't do anything for lys to benefit.
@@lancehenry1936I'm sick of people saying this aegon 3 and visarys 2 are not daemons hires he was disinherited there claims come from rhenyrea not Damon whenever they are mentioned they are refured as the sons of rhenyrea not daemon.
@@lancehenry1936Aegon III got his claim through Rhaenyra, it’s listed as such in the end of Fire & Blood, where he is listed as her son while the rest of the rulers have their claim listed through their father
It's one of those vague bits of lore form one of GRRM's blog posts, some debate just how canon it might be given the blog post was from 2005 and books like TWOIAF didn't mention it. The wiki however seems to take GRRM's blogs as canon so.... kinda a judgment call

So forgotten he was removed entirely in the TV show.
Even his Uncle Aemon forgot him
Soooo true
Remind me, how do we know that he was removed from the show?

Ah jaehaerys the 2nd. The targaryen king with great crusader kings traits who always dies due to poor health.
Well, don't some traits help prevent/avoid that as well?
I believe it is a semi-scripted event.
Great as always sir

Would love to see a prequel book about the Nine Penny King’s from George and get more details about Jaehaerys ii
Honestly the Nine Penny Kings is a really overlooked part of the history that would be perfect for a spin off given the characters involved

The War of the Nine Penny Kings is the only War in Westeros history where it was all united and fighting as one.
