- On 7th April, 2003, June Carter Cash made her final Public Appearance age 73 at the CMT Flameworthy Awards to receive and award for Johnny Cash who was too sick to attend, June died 38 days after this on 15th May 2003 from complications following heart-valve replacement surgery.

I consider it one of my great privileges to have seen Johnny and the Carter family three times in Ireland. Sadly my beloved wife has gone to her eternal reward. She loved Johnny and on the night of our first date, she had the an LP called The Great Johnny Cash playing in the sittingroom. When the Carter sisters sang gospel on together on stage it was as close to heaven as one can get. I greatly admired Johnny for the respect he always showed to them.

As much as I grieve at for losing these two wonderful people, I think it's such a beautiful love story. Johnny Cash died of a broken heart, pure and simple. They are together again. R.I.P you two legends.

There is no question Johnny's heart was broken but no it is not pure and simple that this was his cause of death. Johnny Cash himself kept things real. Real is that he was in a coma 4 times prior to losing June...and he was going downhill fast 10 years prior to losing June.

One of my favorite stories ever was when as I recall they were interviewing Johnny or something for "Walk The Line." He came in but said "We have to wait for June because without June, there is no story."
As she got older, she really started to resemble her mother in so many ways.
I worked this show as a camera operator. My camera was the one that was on Tony Brown in the audience. Everyone was very emotional.
Istill hope to find my own Johnny Cash. He doesn't even have be able to sing or play the guitar. As long as he looks at me the way he always looks at June, I'm fine 😊

June and John were wrong for their extramarital affair but Johnny was sleeping around long before June and if anyone is to blame for his marriage ending, it's him, and he has admitted as much. Vivians own child said it was "meant to be." You can't run from or chase fate my dears.

Not very much, because Johnny died also after June pased away only 3 mouths later.
My grandparents were married more than 50 years. When grandma died we saw the light in grandpa's eyes went out and he only regained the lite on his death bed 2 and 1/2 years later. He regained the light when he knew he was going to be with grandma again. They had the same kind of love that Johnny and June had.

I live in Australia, and I think Johnny died a mere week after June, and Australia's King of Country music was Slim Dusty, who ironically only passed away 1 week to the day before Johnny Cash Passed over, and I'll tell u all a bit of Trivia, Slim and his wife Joy, loved the Carter Familys music folks!! But!! Even tho SLIM DUSTY loved American country music, and always said That the USA was where country and western Music originated from, BUT!! He point blank and flatly refused to sing an American country song, or sing in an America accent!! AND wrote in 1 of his 3 or 4 books, that he'd have rather have failed than to do so!!😯but!! Only because he was such a proud Australian!! No different than the American people r Proud too BE AMERICAN!! AND, His brother in law, Reg Lyndsey who went too the USA in the mid to late 60s, was a huge success!! AND especially so, when he wrote and Released 'Armstrong' about ppl starving all over the world, yet, mankind spent I suppose Trillions of $s too put a man on the Moon folks!! AND!! I guess he was right about that too!! Anyway When he came home to Australia, REG LYNDSEY BEGGED SLIM TO GO OVER TO THE USA!! Because he told him, he was a FARRR better singer than he was!! (Reg) But!! Slim Dusty refused to go over and sing in the USA....UNTIL!! Very late in his life and Career, JOHNNY CASH!! Who'd also, been forever begging Slim to go over to the USA!! FINALLY!! Persuaded Slim to go over!! But, Slim told Him he'd only sing a few songs and wouldn't be doing any concerts!!🤔and it wasn't until Slim landed in the USA, that Johnny cash told him he'd be singing at the Grand old Oprey!!😯Slim said, Likkke bloody hell I AM JOHNNY!!😡Because I'm not quite thattt Good!! Cash replied 'OF COURSE U GOD DARNED R SLIM!!🙂AND!! In my humble opinion, you're every bit as good as me, or any other country music singer in the USA Slim!!🙂ure biggest problem is, ure so modest that U just don't realise, just HOW GOOD OF A SINGER U REALLY ARE SLIM!! AND I'M NOT!! PATRONISING U EITHER!!🙂I'm only being perfectly honest with you!! AND contrary to popular belief, we don't get paid very much for singing at the Oprey, it's just that ppl WANT To perform there for the prestige and to just to be able to say they have!!AND or for up and coming singers too enhance their Careers!!🙂BUT!! Vivian , Johnny Cash's first wife ( and mother of his four daughters that were not June Carter's even though she publicly took credit for them) outlived both of them, she actually wrote a book and she had the dignity and respect for Johnny Cash to have it published. After June Carter kick the bucket, then Johnny Cash died. When the Johnny Cash tribute ceremony was aired the segment that was dedicated to his first wife Vivian was cut out. I don't have a lot of respect for June Carter as a person. June , Johnny and Vivian may you all rest in peace.

I don't think anyone regards her as a saint. She had her faults just like everybody else. I think the movie clearly depicts the extramarital affair between the two. People fall in and out of love all the time. But John and June found true love with one another and have both stated as much. Johnny was sleeping around long before June or did you miss that part? He also said out of his own mouth that he told June he was going to Marry her the first time he met her while being married to someone else at the time. You can't put the blame solely on June when John was more to blame for his marriage falling apart than anyone and has said as much. But June and Johnny loved each other through the good times and the bad.

I have read so many ppl say wonderful things about their union yet forget that it tore up a family. Vivian was absolutely stunning and had not been known to a man prior to their marriage. June and Johnny talk about their true soul mate love but it was simply LUST AND ADULTIOUS BEHAVIOR! He left his family after Carter divorced her then husband. He sought her out but all she had to say is no and wait till his marriage was truly over, instead he just left his wife for his side piece. Say what you like but please think of his then long suffering wife and children. It's a documentary on her by her children or she has a book before you get on the Carter,Cash bandwagon there is 3 sides to this story and make up your own mind.
