It takes as long to unlearn, as it does to learn. Only with ripe karma, will it be quick. The key is to do all efforts to ripen that karma, for the experience leading to the source.

Can you do a short retreat? Maybe there is a monastery not too far away where you can go for a few weeks? It might help. Or maybe you could find a monk there who would take you as a student.
Monks still have to live with people. Other monks are also people. Not all monks are saints you know. They also have to work monk jobs. The monastery is not gonna run itself. Look it up. You also don't enjoy any materialism. The monk vow also forbid sexual relationships. Now it doesn't sound glamorous anymore right?
