No, he wants to leave the world and go home to the Lord. He has said as much in a live interview of him. This New Zealand couple have it correct: "Oliver Anthony is praying for God to take him to Heaven". Prayers for him. 🙏🙏 Sadly, a lot of people are despondent, living life, struggling, like Oliver, in America, a lot of homeless. It's not all Disneyland and fun and giggles; there is a lot of heartache in the US. :( Oliver said: "I wrote the songs that I wrote because I was suffering from mental health and depression."
The wealth gap in the U.S. has us working class folks struggling hard core. Living paycheck to paycheck is no joke. Life isn’t meant to be lived like this. Our government has failed us. Both parties have been in control and look where we are. They’ve been compromised by the 1%. Bought and paid for. ✌🏼
They haven't been compromised by the 1% they've been compromised by the dollar. Stop paying the government people, and let them get a paycheck like us, see how quick shit changes.
Yep always blame those who have more than you, with the majority of them working their asses off for said "more than you"... spoken like a real socialist idiot... Wahhh I can't be as good as the next man, so I'll blame them for why I work a sh*t paying job and have to live paycheck to paycheck... How about you should of taken the steps to become something more, to learn something more- as in a special trade etc... no no, cry because you work a bs job, because you're a bs worker with no real workforce skill... See I didn't take the correct steps in life and I work bs jobs. But one thing I don't do, is blame the wealthy workers/business men that worked their asses off to get to where they are or do so now... See I have a buddy who's family is rich. They own businesses and it all started from their grandfather, their dad worked hard and eventually took over and now my buddy's dad is making my buddy go to College and put in work to eventually take over the businesses.. so you'd hate him too, just because his family cared enough to set up family down the road... The grandpa had nothing, started a small water sports shop and turned it into something far more... just because you don't know people's story, they aren't bad for being "handed" businesses/money... they aren't holding you back, they aren't worried about you! If you worked your ass off all your life, completed your goal and had a company, family etc. You too would be doing exactly what these "wealthy devils" are doing... Now there are some bad ultra rich people, who use that money to influence things etc. But thats much much smaller than you make it out to be.. you just want someone else to blame for your own life and choices you made... its easier today to become rich than ever before.. yet here you are. Stop complaining and keep pushing forward. If not, shut up and stop crying and blaming others..
Yeah, this is why George Washington was completely against a 2 party system when establishing the government. He realized that they'd be too busy fighting each other to actually RUN the country, but he was sadly over-ruled 😓
What I love about him is he's real. He sings about being broke and taken down by the rich man then turns down multi-million dollar contracts from them.

Glad to see y'all! Been missing our family. I like his music because I know where he's coming from. Nadine hit it right on the nail about thinking you're the crazy one when other people discredit or just dismiss what you're trying to warn them about. It does make you feel helpless and ready to give up. But as long as we're in this world we have to keep pushing forward one day at a time, don't we? There's a song i know that says, "God will make a way when there seems to be no way. He works in ways we cannot see. He will make a way for me. He will be my guide, hold me closely to His side. With strength and love for each new day, He will make a way. He will make a way." God bless you, NZ family. All of you subscribers here as well. ❤
Just a little history on the word "Appalachia", it's a Cherokee Indian word. In the Cherokee language there are no long "a" sounds. Therefore, the word is pronounced "Appa-latcha", all short "a" sounds.
Thank you for sharing it's good and inspiring. The Cherokee nation has a rich and proud history. They survived Andrew Jackson and his shameful and dark historical trail of tears. God bless the Cherokee people.
Appalachia is from northern Georgia all the way to Maine...but when people reference Appalachian mountains it's usually West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina and Georgia...because of the Irish/Scottish influence in the mountains and hollers where they were forgotten for hundreds of years. Not backward, just self-reliant. People today are returning to a holistic lifestyle that some Appalachian people embraced up until today.
His song "ive got to get sober" hits so many right in the heart. Alcoholism is real and he pegs it with that one. so glad to see you safe at home Sam/ Nadine. I love you guys. be safe.

Just a comment from here in snowy Minnesota! On Oliver's Channel he has some promising news! I think in this coming February, Oliver and friends begin their tour. He has dates and places listed as firm all across the U.S. and even over to the U.K.! A few months ago he says he was in the planning stages at the moment; but he's hired a talent agency to help sort out all the necessary details that are involved like tickets; insurances; places he and his fellow members will sleep, and so much more. He also says he's been writing new music for his upcoming tour! In the meantime Oliver and his wife welcomed the addition of a new baby boy to their family of two little ones! "I've Gotta Get Sober" Oliver says was a kind of break-through song that preempted him to fall on his knees asking God Almighty for help! He says at this time he knew what his mission in life was supposed to be: to make music to inspire the least of us! THANK YOU!

I am from the Appalachia Blue Ridge mountains. I built my own cabin, grow my own garden and fish. Back in these hills and hollers it is peaceful . I think if people would come together we could change this country if people would quit listening to politicians and rich corporations. We could change this world. I think the hardest working people in the U.S. is smarter than politicians. The government could fix the homeless problem and all this countries problems if they would quit making their bank accounts bigger.
I think he reminds most Americans who really are paying attention to what is going on that we aren't crazy. We do see what we see and we don't understand what others don't see, or get, or understand where it is leading us. Our nation as we knew it will be gone if we don't make the changes necessary to sustain Her. America really is a great place, filled with great people. Most of us, like Oliver's song, are on our knees daily and praying for the Lord to intercede for our nation. Glad you are safely home.

I gotta say - I really relate to his song I wanna go home. My dad went home to be with Jesus on Monday after a long fight with Multiple Myeloma Cancer, Type II Diabetes, Severe Neuropathy in both hands and feet, high blood pressure, and seizures all directly caused by his service in the United States Air Force and almost daily exposure to Agent Orange and other toxic herbicides during his tour. I have multiple medical problems that my father has always believed are a result of his exposure to Agent Orange/etc. Every day for me is extremely painful and a struggle. Except for me being the only one who will listen without any judgement to my elderly parents, be moral support and help them with technology, I am completely utterly useless worthless husk taking up resources someone else much better could really use and I have no business being on this side of living. Now just my mom is left and outside of her I see no reason to stay this side of heaven. Once she goes home to be with Jesus, all of my will to live will go with her. My father was so tired of being sick and in pain at the end that his will to live was crushed completely. He just cried for Jesus to come and take him home at the end. For many of us we don’t want to go home because of how the world is changing- we have been sick and in excruciating pain for so long that we just want to go home where there will be no more pain, only perfect peace and love.

Most of the good music coming from from Appalachia is not "mainstream." Artists like him have a hard time getting recording contracts or radio play. They publish themselves of social media.
I believe this song, I wanna go home can be interpreted as he wants to go home to heaven but also I believe it refers to the idea that he doesn’t recognize this world anymore because of the lack of community and morals. He referenced on how young children are being taking advantage of and how it’s being normalized to a degree. Again a wonderful reaction to his songs.
That first song is summed up by the title of the old poem, "You can't go Home again". The past is past and the world has become something unrecognizable, and you cannot get back to more innocent times.
Off topic, sorry, I haven't seen any posts on Instagram for a long while. Didn't know if I'm missing something, you're just not posting or if something has happened. Hoping all is well and miss your posts. From Ohio in the US....
Good analytics. I guess it happens globally to some degree or another, but in the end he sings from personal perception of the world around him. He's from Appalachia, which is what we would call folks from the Appalachian mountains, mainly PA, VA, WVA, TN and maybe northern Alabama. As the spine of the Appalachians flows from NY all the way to the south I guess many regions combine to be called Appalachians. It's a different life, but a good, honest life. Wish ya'll had more rime in the states to really explore the vastness and variety here. It can appear to be chaos, at least as the media portrays it, but for the most part, it's actually a cohesive multicultural dance. Look forward to the next one guys, thanks for keeping the content coming, it's refreshing to see your perspective on us, both as a people as well as a nation.
I was told from my local news station here in Richmond, Virginia that Oliver Anthony is from Farmsville, Virginia. Just wanted to answer your question Nadine.
Check out a liter note my 90 some Chevy or rich man’s gold his song rich man north of Richmond was recorded with the help of radio station West Virginia he lives in FarmVille Va. thanks
I have severe PTSD and I’ve tried to go “home,” but my faith and police saved me from myself. Oliver Anthony sings songs that speak for so many of us Americans.
"Ain't gotta dollar, but don't need a dime" (He's broke, but he has everything he needs) I'm from Tennessee and we say this saying quite often. Ya ask somebody if they need a little cash to get them to payday and I bet they say "naw, I don't need a dime, I'm good" As for the first song, I been feeling like that since 2016 when our country started going "to heck in a hand basket". It got a 4yr roll down hill from 2016-2020 now we're dealing with the repercussions. 💖🧡💛💚💙💜
Funny, because that time period was better than the eight before, the eight before that, and at least the time before that.... and it's a hell of a lot better than the last four years.
Obviously living in a different country than the rest of the U.S. these last 4 yrs are a direct result of the stupidity we have running this country right now.
Huh, last I checked, the country wasn't having its highest inflation during that time period. Gas and goods were more affordable, now, thanks to buckin fiden, gas is hard to afford. Must be nice to be able to afford $5 gas while laughing at the rest of us. Trump 2024
Ronald Reagan said it best, “The nine most terrifying words are: ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help’”. The songs he sings are the artistically put conversations workers have on their hard earned breaks.
His real name is Chris Lunsford. His grandfather's name was Oliver Edwards, he named his channel after him. I live in Northeast Tennessee (in the Appalachian mountains). We live Chris' lyrics. It's a sad and frustrating time for us as we watch our land being raped and our culture disappear. As the old farmers die, their children sell to highest bidder without considering the effects all this development will have on future generations. We won't recognize our home in 10 years.😢
What strict capitalism has done to the U.S. common citizens. That's one of the reasons seeing your family sharing so much and enjoying each other is so heartwarming to U.S. Americans. Your family is a beacon of light.
I think you guys would enjoy studying the history of "The Blues" (A style of Music) in the US. It started in the late 1800's and is an interesting subject. I believe their are other styles like Country music that branch off of Blues Music. I remember being in music class in Grade school being taught about Blues. We had to learn a Blues song that started with "I woke up this morning with an awful aching head", which is repeated three times, then the reason is given. A typical lyric style.
I really like this guy and where he's coming from. I don't know if you guys have ever reacted to Home Free, but they are definitely a group should check out. They are an acapella country band. And they are fantastic. Songs to check out, in my not so humble opinion ;-) are: Man of Constant Sorrow, How Great Thou Art, Elvira, with the Oak Ridge Boys, who did the song 40 years ago and hit big with it) When a Man Loves a Woman and just about anything that strikes your fancy. They don't do "bad," or even mediocre. They are just a bunch of 5 top class vocalists who put it all out there and have a great time doing it.
Dolly Parton is one of my favorites she came from a humble background ...does a lot for charity and us as humble as can be. She us from Tennessee...Sevierville to be exact...close to the Smokey Mountains.
Oliver Anthony speaks more to what is really happening in every American community and it's more truthful than any musician, mainstream media or politician will speak of.
He doesn't want to kill himself. He wants to go home, back when times were simpler...before computers. Before everything was taxed......before families got so distracted......from being family....
I wonder if he is a veteran, because that's how a lot of us feel. We just want to go to sleep and go home. You all should react to Tom McDonald, "Brainwashed".
I have so much love for veterans and everything you guys have done for us. I can't express enough how much I care and love you all. Thank you for everything ❤❤❤

i know you both talked about watching Peter Santanello, and in one of his more recent Appalachia videos they talked about how a lot of like rich companies are going there to like level hills and naturally green areas for these large vacation homes and expensive homes that are outpricing the people that already live in Appalachia. it's like the worst kind of gentrification bc it's also deforestation and loss of wildlife and the people from there can't even afford to at least live there or buy up the land to preserve it. it's just awful
I've seen it too often and it's sickening. I've seen a lot of people from Massachusetts and New Jersey buying homes in rural WV. When someone wants to sell, they look for someone from outside who is getting a really good deal based on home values in their home state, but native WVians can't afford to buy, because prices have been inflated by home values, wages, etc of that other state.

Most of the good music coming from from Appalachia is not "mainstream." Artists like him have a hard time getting recording contracts or radio play. They publish themselves of social media.
He turned down a multi-million dollar record deal. He wouldn’t sign with a big label. He’s found his own manager and is doing his own tour.
Going home is about going back to when times were good and he didn't wake up every day feeling the way he does now.
Maybe you could listen to Home Free,so talented!
Mr. Oliver Anthony is from my home state of Virginia❤
You need to listen to Paul Harvey, "IF I WAS THE DEVIL " from like 1965. You will not believe it.
Can you react to Stephen McWhirter’s “Come Jesus Come?“
Fact: This song was actually written about the movie "Air Bud 2"
He didn't want to sell his soul to a record company, but I'm pretty sure he's doing all right. I understand he lives in Farmville, VA.
He is what we call down to earth, they wanted him to sign a contract to shut him up
Nadine nailed it 👌
4:40
That first song is summed up by the title of the old poem, "You can't go Home again". The past is past and the world has become something unrecognizable, and you cannot get back to more innocent times.
Lol y'all say he lives in Appalachian...
That's a mountain range, not a city/ town.
His music is very powerful and truthful. I'm in Kentucky which is part of Appalachia. His music reminds me a lot of Bluegrass/Folk Music.
Off topic, sorry, I haven't seen any posts on Instagram for a long while. Didn't know if I'm missing something, you're just not posting or if something has happened. Hoping all is well and miss your posts. From Ohio in the US....
The Lord is using him to send a message to pray for World Peace. Not war. God bless you all.
He won't do big concerts because they charge too much for tickets and he wants everyone to enjoy his music....He is from Virginia
The 1st song, “for what does it profit a man to gain the whole world a forfeit his soul.” Mark 8:36
Quoted from the Bible. 😊
He just played the grand old opry.and read bible verses.chec that one out
Good analytics.
They run from Maine to Georgia. I’m an Appalachian from Eastern Kentucky.
Yes! You get it! Christians struggle in this wicked and twisted world daily. I wanna go home! Ive been saying the same thing for years. Maranatha!
He lives in Virginia about 40 miles south of Washington
I was told from my local news station here in Richmond, Virginia that Oliver Anthony is from Farmsville, Virginia. Just wanted to answer your question Nadine.
Check out a liter note my 90 some Chevy or rich man’s gold his song rich man north of Richmond was recorded with the help of radio station West Virginia he lives in FarmVille Va. thanks
You should watch Lee Greenwood God Bless the U S A with the air force band.
All us followers of Christ are waiting to go home. He’s coming for us soon.
Very, VERY soon!! I’m surprised we are still here 😊❤
I’m ready to leave earth for my Heavenly home! Come quickly Lord…Come quickly.
Amen and MARANATHA!!
I was scrolling looking for this comment. Someone had to get it. 😉
@@ringra00 let’s tell them Jesus loves them. Turn to Him while there is still time. The door is closing.
@@lauriegreenwood8946 Amen.
I have severe PTSD and I’ve tried to go “home,” but my faith and police saved me from myself.
Oliver Anthony sings songs that speak for so many of us Americans.
@jakes4164 thank you, He has.
"Ain't gotta dollar, but don't need a dime"
(He's broke, but he has everything he needs) I'm from Tennessee and we say this saying quite often. Ya ask somebody if they need a little cash to get them to payday and I bet they say "naw, I don't need a dime, I'm good"
As for the first song, I been feeling like that since 2016 when our country started going "to heck in a hand basket".
Trump 2024
@@USFirst1776 Uh, maybe in your own mind, but not in reality. You shouldn't ignore the facts due to a political bias.
He lives In Virginia which is the same state where Richmond is .
Ronald Reagan said it best, “The nine most terrifying words are: ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help’”. The songs he sings are the artistically put conversations workers have on their hard earned breaks.
When he says "I don't need a dime" is basically what we say when we don't need more then what we have or don't need handouts
Weed is sold in dime bags.
He's going on a world tour in 2024 and might be stopping in New Zealand
You think that truck in the back ground is not cheap 70k
You guys (Sam &Nadine) should react to "Tom McDonald"! But, don't let the kids hear it!!
God bless you both and your kids as well.
Or country, my faveorite
I really liked the second song. Good analysis and nice video.
Dolly Parton is one of my favorites she came from a humble background ...does a lot for charity and us as humble as can be. She us from Tennessee...Sevierville to be exact...close to the Smokey Mountains.
I love y'all s take on us!! We are truly alll the Same. Worldwide, Thanks for putting it out to to the World!!
Love this song and love y'all
Farmville, Virginia USA
Have you heard Try That in a Small Town
Oliver Anthony speaks more to what is really happening in every American community and it's more truthful than any musician, mainstream media or politician will speak of.
You should check out Jake McNasty McNeese narrated by the fat electrician
A true American bad ass..❤️🇺🇸💝
He lives in Farmville, VA.
Great choice of song to react to
Oliver is THE BEST
He lives in Virginia
“I ain’t got a dollar & I don’t need a dime, just light up a bowl & pass it around.” Oliver’s got the right idea.
🤣😎👌👍✌️
He doesn't want to kill himself. He wants to go home, back when times were simpler...before computers. Before everything was taxed......before families got so distracted......from being family....
Speaks such truth. Love y'all NZ Family ❤
I missed you guys! would love to see videos posted more often :)
Man's soul ain't for sale...8,ooo,ooo...dollars...stuck his middle finger up...me neither...63 year old former marine from south carolina
Incredible lyrics.
Side note. Love that Rangers jersey. 👌🏻
Oh I'm sorry, is this a REACTION video? Wow, quite hypocritical of you....
Muscadine grapes grow wild in the mountains of Appalachia. Triple the size of regular grapes. They make wonderful wine!!
90 Some Chevy is one of my favorites from him
Great song😊
I wonder if he is a veteran, because that's how a lot of us feel. We just want to go to sleep and go home. You all should react to Tom McDonald, "Brainwashed".
I have so much love for veterans and everything you guys have done for us. I can't express enough how much I care and love you all. Thank you for everything ❤❤❤
@@theresabeck1029 Thank you very much. I am also one of the veterans that observe ANZAC Day. I do love my allies. Best to you and your family. Stay safe.
@@AxiomAttestant Thank you, same to you 🥰
You should REALLY do his Rich men North of Richmond. You want another like the first one…. Now THATS real too. I know you really like the US. And that’s awesome! But make no mistake: America has its brokenness too. I got a Gamer Friend in the UK that wants to move here. And many believe it’s worse there. And maybe it is, I’m not gonna touch that Elephant here. But I told him it’s broken here too. Differently but still broken in places. DONT mistake me: America is a great place to live.
This song saved my life. My father died in August 2023 when this song dropped.
i know you both talked about watching Peter Santanello, and in one of his more recent Appalachia videos they talked about how a lot of like rich companies are going there to like level hills and naturally green areas for these large vacation homes and expensive homes that are outpricing the people that already live in Appalachia. it's like the worst kind of gentrification bc it's also deforestation and loss of wildlife and the people from there can't even afford to at least live there or buy up the land to preserve it. it's just awful
