They finally shown some gameplay, and honestly...it's good!
It appears to be heavily influenced by BT3, which is a really good thing in my opinion.
As for the release date, I think it's best we let them do their thing...

It's called 'Vegeta (Second Form)' because it's Vegeta's second body. Remember, he was given another body in the Buu Saga.
The reason Goku doesn't have that tag is because he is given his original body back whenever he was brought back

the lighting on some sequences are completely different from the first trailer, so that means that the game could look even better when it launches or when we got another trailer, which is honestly amazing, because i think the shadows are really not there yet in some shots
The camera work is also slightly rough, especially when SSJ Namek Goku did the Meteor Crash it's clear it'll be more polished by the time the game actually comes out

SSJ2 Goku also has Meteor Crash but the animation is different for it I think

I think one of the funniest details was that they brought back the classic Kay-O-Ken pronunciation of Kaioken from the older games

I actually grew up saying it like this because of those old pronunciations. I know Kaioken is correct but Kayoken sounds cool too lol
They're probably doing that for two reasons: Nostalgia-based hype and the fact that the VAs have yet to record new lines for the game. Even if they can't find the time, there are plenty of other games to pull audio lines from.

6:39 I bet it's a counter super attack. They were a thing added in the raging blast series. You use them, start a pose and during it's duration, if you get hit by any non-energy attack, a cinematic super plays out. They were useful because they cannot be blocked or teleported out of, but were balanced due to the low range and inability to block or teleport yourself during the duration. They were a good addition back then. You could pretend to fail a combo and leave a gap and use one to bait the enemy to attack you.
The effect was too small for that, I assume the god bind is a utility attack like the psychokinesis from freeza or the kaikosen from piccolo.

God Bind almost looks like it acts in a similar way to Mystic Breath canceling out super attacks, 6:37 looks like it was intended to show a well timed cancel move to a rush attack.
They could be trying to incorporate some new utility skills to had more variety in play styles.

I noticed that the Dragon Rush clash looks more like the one in the Raging Blast series vs the Tenkaichi series
I’ve always suspected that the creators are taking the best from both series and are putting them into one!

This video kind of felt like a Play-by-Play of Goku and Vegeta's fight at times.
I don't know if that was intentional but I really liked it.

The very first combo was like a food critic from Ratatouille moment for me. It was just like I remembered from childhood, but modern and gorgeous. Been seeing a lot of people hard on this game for some issues seen in the trailers but that’s why there’s no release date yet and hopefully we don’t get it til this game is close to being ready. That being said, this game already feels special. I can’t wait for it bless our computers and consoles.
I remember playing all the budokai games as a kid and a teen with my brother and it was probably the best bonding experience i had with him and now we are both fully grown up adults and cant wait for the game to release to experience those old memories but with modern DBZ.
Hopefully a lot of people have a similar story to this.
I use to play with my brother as well with bt3. But sadly a few years ago he passed away 😢

Broly's move gigantic hammer is actually a counter attack not just a timing attack meaning that even if the opposition is rushing to you rather than just standing still, you would still be able to pull that move off, but if you only catch him with it before he does his combo

6:14 I remember in Tenkaichi 1 or 2 when both players mashed normal attacks they would clash like in this part of the video and then both players had the otion to teleport behind, counter, block or use a strong attack. Kinda like a rock paper scisors but super fast paced and you needed high reflexes to see it coming.
I hear no one talking about that there is an arrow at the edges of the character roster no one has questioned is that one panel the ENTIRE character roster? Or maybe it expands? 7:32

for the "timing based attack" maybe instead of it being a timing thing maybe it's like solar flare but in sparking zero it will return to tenkaichi 2 no cutscene

Seeing how you discovered the hidden features of solar flare earlier and how it was not just a stun and lock off but could also cancel oncoming supers and ultimates, I feel god bind will have similar mechanics to that of solar flare, like an alternative evasive or more a parry with to punish aggressive players and immobilize them for a bit

I really appreciate you putting forward the message to be patient and give the devs time and support to do the game right; sometimes people can be really impatient these days, but given how many games release in an unfinished state it's great to let people know not to add pressure!
There are people who get so hyped and act like the game has to be released the same year its revealed. I'd rather it be polished because the gameplay has to do good, has to sell well and has to be rated high for it to continue.

It wont be a recreation of bt3, but itll be a budokai game. Sparking is just the Japanese name for the series.

Not related to this game but, did u know that in budokai 3 if u pick goku vs vegeta (scouter form) and select the desert ruins in the vs match mode, they will do their iconic poses and have a special interaction

What I love the most is that the hairs are actually flowing with the aura, something that even the anime neglects at this point!

One thing i hope they get right is the great feel of actual impact, on tenkaichi 3 the sound effects made it feel that each and every attack counted, like there was a lot of weight behind each punch, specially the charged ones, it was super satisfying

I noticed that goku's outfit was destroyed when went super saiyan 3 so I'm assuming that every character will have their costumes from the previous games
I like how the official tenkaichi 4 website refers Goku as sun wukong. For people who don't know Goku is based off of the monkey king sun wukong from Chinese story Journey to the west
I'm pretty sure thats because the website is being actively translated by Google Translate, rather than official designations, and Son Goku and Son Wukong are the same name in different languages

Man seeing people that are so knowledgeable on bt3 mechanics is so nice i used go hardcore this game crazy when i was younger it was one pf the only like 4 games i could play
Another thing I noticed is that some of the animations look incomplete. Like when Goku and Vegeta strike their iconic poses at the beginning of the trailer, Goku’s hair isn’t flowing in the wind like vegeta’s. I also think they’re reusing some voice lines in the trailer because I caught Goku yell “KO ken” and not “kaioken”. I’m still pretty excited for the game, but they for sure need more time

The character splits further deconfirms customisable movesets which Raging Blast introduced( one of the few good concepts in that franchise).
It looks like the hair is animated separately to the body of the characters, to allow for such flowey physics, and are mapped to follow the head's movements and rotations

HOW IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT HOW BLUE KAIOKEN WAS IN RHE SPIRIT BOMB CLASH POSE WITH JIREN. THAT SPIRIT BOMB ALLOWED HIM TO GO UI! I THINK UI MIGHT BE PUT IN THE GAME FELLAS!!!
I just hope that these characters are more varied than they were in the previous 3D games. Aside from specific moves, most characters played nearly identically to each other. I'd love to see more unique mechanics, like Bergamo growing larger as he takes damage, or Roshi's flight being linked to Baby Gamera or using Kamehamehas to push himself through the air.

something cool i noticed is that in the shot of the roster, there's Bergamo from dragon ball super. I totally forgot about him, but he's from the tournament of power arc, and he has the ability to grow larger when he absorbs energy! It sounds like a really cool mix of like, draining attacks plus giant characters! it'll be cool to see that transformation, and i bet he could have other characters from his universe show up in his techniques, like hercule's mr boo arrives, or 17 and 18's combo attack.
Goku’s god bind attack reminds me of the counters mainly the villains have. Like freeza where he holds you in place
