Gosh it’s so normal to go through all the emotions and feelings, homesickness ect, sometimes you want to go back home and that’s okay too. Moving between countries is so incredibly challenging. Allow yourself to be in your feelings. A hug from a fellow mum that has moved countries more than once 🩵🩵🩵
Multiple emotions and realities can be at play side by side when moving abroad. And it’s not until you do it for the first time and step out on your own and then have a moment to breathe that you realise how much is and has gone on in that move. It’s quite a surreal experience when you take the away any attachment of positive and negative and just let the experience speak for itself and observe the different layers and learnings. This has been my take on moving over seas alone with my partner in the last 2 years. You guys are absolutely smashing this move ❤ thankyou for sharing your experience with us all
Ellie, my Nan passed away almost 4 weeks ago, and the funeral is tomorrow. I have been really struggling with my emotions as this is my first time experiencing bereavement. You are so right, it helps so much to find the joy in the simplest of things, it’s what grounds us. Your videos and words have brought me so much comfort 🫶🏻 xx
People get the 'ready to go home' feeling ready to get back to their normal after a 2 week holiday! Your feelings are SO valid, relocating with two little ones to America is something people sit with in their later years and wonder 'what if'. You should be so proud of yourselves. Go team
I hadn't watched you on TH-cam since the lockdown vlogs and I rediscovered you during the moving to America process. you have grown so much as a person and I love watching these vlogs. fair to say I now wait for uploads and am excited when I see unexpected ones pop up on my feed. keep posting Elle! I also hope to see more of the house updates and organising I just am loving lal the decor stuff
Its perfectly normal to have the feelings you are having with moving abroad. Most people go through those emotions, its all part of the adjustment and naturally missing family, friends and what you know ❤. Just always do you, its your journey, your choice x
Thanks Elle, I can really resonate with what you said about going back to hobbies you enjoyed as a child and the things that bring you joy, definitely been lacking my zest for life recently and been feeling a bit lost in motherhood. I really needed to hear this today, thanks again ❤️xx
Must be the universe or something because I’ve got goosebumps after watching your talk about finding your creativity. I had the exact same conversation with my sister. I feel like motherhood/life takes over a bit and I haven’t been able to enjoy a creative outlet. Thanks for reminding us to invest in our passions a bit more! I always love your chit chats ❤️Also, completely normal for emotions to be up and down after such a big move. I don’t know how you’ve done it all, but you should definitely be proud of yourself! Lots of love and hugs your way xxxx
I throughly enjoyed this vlog, especially your chat at the end, just two days ago I made the decision to log out of Instagram and tiktok for a month, I picked up a book that I had started a year ago and sat in my garden this afternoon and took the time to really enjoy the sun on my skin and I’ve nearly finished the book. I feel like I could really relate to you, how you said you’ve felt in a bit of a slump recently and it is amazing how we can feel after taking some time for ourselves, I feel reconnected and am looking forward to taking the time again to read. Thank you for the content you provide your community with, I love your vlogs so much💕💕
Gosh I actually welled up at the end of that video. I can resonate so much with what you said about tapping into childhood hobbies in adulthood and the impact that has on your personality. It makes me so happy to hear that you are beginning to experience that zest for life again. I have been a fan/subscriber from the first apartment decor videos (buying the marble stickers/budget diy Ikea chairs makeover! haha..). So it's amazing to see your new Texas home and all its Nancy Meyers inspired decor. Even after all these years I can still relate to your videos. Have the best week Elle & Fam
I just love you & Con!!! ❤ Thank u so much for sharing this experience with us. It really is a joy to watch others being happy or trying their best to be each day.🤍🤍🤍
Hi Elle and Connor good to see you guys having some quality time together, being a mum can be hard sometimes and relationships can suffer a little. I would imagine getting English foods etc would be expensive some things you just miss about where you were brought up, but the life looks amazing and it is an adventure just take the ride and enjoy. i guess not having family and friends can make things hard but i guess change can be hard. love to you all. xxx
I dont normally comment on youtube videos but I have to say I'm loving American Connor, the sass and the vibe between you guys is so funny to see, I feel like this video is also such a lovely reminder to take time with your partner too before the craziness of life with kids so thank you for that ❤️
I've now downloaded that Spotify playlist, am in love with Zach Bryan and am on Pinterest looking at nancys vibe lol thanks for this! I have a baby girl who is 14 months and am moving to my dream home in 2 weeks and I'm loving seeing you navigate this exciting time and giving me inspiration for my own life:)
We’ve moved a few hours from where we used to live for a better home & lives , we even have those moments of missing family & friends etc but we’d never go back , you’ve done amazing as a family , enjoy your time together & making all those memories xx
Buy those gardening boxes and grow your own veg and fruit! You'll save so much money! And it'll be a good activity for the boys to water them and learn how they grow 😊
Don’t stop being honest if your struggling sometimes Elle. Because it was always gonna happen and the majority appreciate the honestly. And in no way does it mean you unhappy with your choice. I for one like to hear what it is that’s bothering you or what u miss..it’s interesting.
I've recently started back in sport again after having my beautiful daughter and I absolutely feel like I'm grounded again and I feel like myself again. I haven't been outdoor playing sport for so long and I feel so much better being back involved. I didn't think it had such an effect on me until you spoke about you reading again... Thank you xx
I got emotional listening to everything you, especially towards the end of the video because I relate so much to it all ❤ I appreciate you being so honest and raw about all those emotions because sometimes it is easy to feel like you're alone x
Your vlogs are just so entertaining love to watch! Could you show your evening routine with your two kidds? I am a new mom of two and would love to learn from others😅 ♥️
That chat at the end really got me thinking. I too subconsciously felt better the last few days, I didn’t know why. And it was because I hadn’t been on social media so much, and I had chosen to focus on workout out more and doing stretching which I enjoyed as a hobby. I love hearing your thoughts on it all!❤
I love you Elle, you're so authentic and your husband and children are lovely as well! Keep up the happy vibes you resonate to everyone on your vlogs and life in America! Welcome! I hope you are enjoying life in a different country! I send you and Connor a lot of luck and happiness during your young journey! ❤
Really enjoyed this video, just what I needed for my Sunday morning chill.....it was nice to see you and con have time together too I think you definitely need it. Tha ks again for a great watch Elle....and con lol
Hi lovely, i am absolutely loving these vlogs 💕💕 so wholesome and cozy aww you cant beat chocolate digestives with a nice cup of tea xx sending lots of love ❤
Loved this Elle! Have loved watching your life in America! Boil in the bag rice has existed in the UK for yeaaaaars....don't know how you never saw it 😂 It's great that you've rediscovered your love of reading fiction! I think fiction is amazing - it's a brilliant way to unwind and enjoy yourself! Hopefully you'll find more books to enjoy
I love that your hair was down in the British shop then next clip it went up 😂 all too much I would have been so excited for that shop!! Absolutely love you and Connor’s relationship and your videos been here from day 1 never left ❤
Loved this vlog Ellie, and can I say that I am with you all the way on Acotar. I am literally devouring it now and will be so sad when I complete the series. I was never a fantasy reader either, but Sarah has pulled me into this world and I can’t get enough of it! Also can’t beat a builders tea and a chocolate digestive. Those books, digestives and a cuppa and my dog its bliss. Thank goodness for the small things in life as they the best no matter where you find yourself in the universe. Big hugs from Scotland xx❤
I'm so happy for you and I've been watching you for years 😊I'm 47 and I lost my mom from cancer when I was 21 and she was only 38 😢so I can relate completely.I can't wait for Halloween and Christmas decor I'm so so excited 😆. Sending lots of love xxx❤
Hi Elle and Connor wow how amazing to have a shop with all UK goods. I’m so happy for you two I know how much you are missing the UK items that is brilliant. 🤩 I think you are both amazing moving to America and I think you have done the right thing moving whilst your two children are very young as it would be easier for them to adapt. I know that parts of you miss the UK that is absolutely valid as you have family and Katy but you will in time when you have found your dream location in the US you will get there. Sending you all lots of love 🥰 xxx
Omg Elle I loved this video so much! Especially the end, about giving yourself time to be creative for the FUN of it. A great reminder! Also I’m reading ACOTAR now and I’m obsessed ❤
Hi guys! I’m really enjoying your vlogs in your new life. And your joy at finding cadburys chocolate! 🤣 I feel that way about Cadburys and I’m 5 mins from our total garage 😆 Hang in there guys! Enjoy the adventure! 🥳 lots of love ❤️ from the UK xxx
Moving to the States is a huge adjustment for you and there are no right or wrongs. Feeling settled takes time for you all but especially the children and the dogs. I moved over 40 years ago to the Mediterranean from Wiltshire in the U.K. and I’ve never regretted it, however, if I had returned I would never have felt I was a failure. Life is an adventure and you never know if you don’t go for it. I gave up on British groceries years ago but now with Brexit, the prices are ridiculous! Anyway, the Mediterranean cuisine is one of the healthiest and tastiest in the world! Live for the day!💖🌸
Enjoyed seeing the british shop and just really enjoyed this vlog. Connor was so funny talking about the agricultural machines being different and your face when he did 😂 but I love details like that about how its different to England. I could really relate to what you said about taking time for yourself and making these moments. I think your both very brave to move there and I admire you for it. Nothing to lose, and what amazing fun and memories whatever the future holds. What an amazing adventure. Id love to see in a vlog about how you find the people in your area, are they friendly, eg at nursery have you been able to make friends with other parents or do a meet up with another mum? Love your vlog xx
Elle, i am hooked! I am on the second book as we speak....so blooming good! I brought the book set after you said it was good. It took me 2 days to read the first. I am going to take my time with this one so it isnt over as quick lol xx
I love how much you love books, personally for me I have never gotten into books and wanted to try something else. I am now utterly obsessed with jigsaws, they are so much fun and awarding when you finish them, you should try!! xx
Tip for the electricals (if you don't know this already) get someone to send extension cables from B&Q or something and then you can plug toaster and kettle etc into 1 socket but only need one adapter.
As a parent to a child with clubfoot, the best support for all kids feet are any shoes that don't actually bend when you move them, when we look for shoes we make sure the shoe doesn't bend 🥰 great video you are really living life I love it ❤️❤️
Why did those little notes at the end literally make me tear up….resonated sooo hard with feeling out of touch with your creative side, when you are a person who finds a ton of fulfillment in it. Going to do something to try to fill my cup today. Thanks Ellie, for the reminder of that permission ❤ great conversation.
So similar when I was a child I did keyboard and acting I think being creative is not for everyone I do believe it’s suited to over thinkers and anxiety people I’m one of those it rly helps x
Love your vligs so much,we live in australia and everytme we visit the british shop it's like Christmas even after living here for 17 years. Have a great week guys looking forward to more updates.xx
I totally understand spending mega bucks on UK goodies, 35 years in Australia and I still crave stuff from there 😅 I've even got a packet of party rings next to me right now! It's a journey and like anything in life there will be ups and downs be kind to yourself sweetheart 💕
Omg boil some water on the stove for your tea 😂 And I’m on a court of silver flames right now and I feel the same way about when it’s finished! Going to have a void! 😂
Two things can be true at the same time, like loving where you've moved too, whilst also being homesick, one does not cancel out the other. I remember when I moved stateside from the U.K and started feeling homesick, so we found a quaint little British shop, when I got inside and saw all the British goods I burst out crying. 😂 Look up international stores near you, too, for more of a grocery store feel, usually only one isle for U.K food. I made mince pies the 1st year and spent $40 00. on jars of mincemeat from the International store. I can relate to your British splurge. Oh, and, Conor, there isn't one US tomato soup that taste like Heinz. Not. One. 😂
Yes I made it to the end and I love you vlogs so what I did for myself is open the air fryer box that I rec Friday and at first I hesitant to buy one since I love to fry food so I made chicken and i can't believe that made me happy lol have a bless day ❤
I was shocked when you said you never seen the bag of rices?! We have them in the UK.. I have them all the time crazy to me that your only now seeing them.. also i love watching your vlogs! 💓

Moving to the States is a huge adjustment for you and there are no right or wrongs. Feeling settled takes time for you all but especially the children and the dogs. I live in Wiltshire, Elle knows my daughters friend, small world 🌎 😊❤❤
Hi Ellie, this exact same experience happened to me too with reading. I’m glad you’ve got your reading sparkle back like I have too 💖

I thought she was going to clear the shelf 😂😂
I’m actually still gobsmacked that you’ve never used boil in the bag rice in the uk before 😂 it’s an actual lifesaver!!
Kettle Salt and Vinegar Chips/Crisps are the best! You can find them in most grocery stores. The Cape Cod brand is okay as well as Miss Vickie's.
lol I do remember ‘things I hear I like’ I loved that! When’s the next podcast coming out 🙌
I love how much you love books, personally for me I have never gotten into books and wanted to try something else.
Always look forward to the vlogs.. lol con is too funny!
Elle, I loved the ending 💞
As a parent to a child with clubfoot, the best support for all kids feet are any shoes that don't actually bend when you move them, when we look for shoes we make sure the shoe doesn't bend 🥰 great video you are really living life I love it ❤️❤️
Elle you can get boil in the bag rice in the uk. I am in my 60s and have always got this type of rice for years

Going to do something to try to fill my cup today. Thanks Ellie, for the reminder of that permission ❤ great conversation.
Just love the both of ye together ye are so funny 😆 ❤
