ഇറച്ചി കഴിച്ചാണ് മനുഷ്യൻ അതിജീവിച്ചത് എന്നത് ലളിതമായ സത്യമാണ്. പ്രാചീന കാലത്തു മാത്രമല്ല ആധുനിക കാലത്തും. ദീർഘകാലം കേടുകൂടാതെ സൂക്ഷിക്കാവുന്ന ഉണക്ക ഇറച്ചിയും ഈന്തപ്പഴവും ഉള്ളതു കൊണ്ടാണ് അറബി വ്യാപാരികൾക്ക് ലോക മാർക്കറ്റ് കീഴടക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞത്. അതുപോലെ ഉണക്ക ഇറച്ചി ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നതു കൊണ്ടാണ് യൂറോപ്യൻമാർക്ക് കടൽ കടന്ന് ലോകം കീഴടക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞത്. അതില്ലാത്തതുകൊണ്ടാണ് ബ്രാഹ്മണാധീശത്വത്തിനു ശേഷം ഇന്ത്യക്കാരൻ കടൽ കടക്കാൻ കഴിയാത്തവരായത്
