- Blackpool Pleasure Beach teamed up with The Red Arrows to bring you this 72ft Gerstlauer Sky Fly which glides in the shadow of The Big One. In this video, supplied to CF courtesy of Blackpool Pleasure Beach, the SkyForce Display Team strut - and spin - their stuff. On this ride type, riders can control the spinning motion by moving the two wings in alternative directions.

I went on this confident I could do many many rolls. I started to rock my plane and got sideways on at the top....unfortunately it was a very windy day and it took hold of the wing and sent me into a death spin of about 100 rolls a second. Needless to say I fought to get it straight again then rode the rest of the ride like a seasick 4 year old. 😂😂
I've been on all the big rides and rollers
Coasters there apart from Skyforce, Reveloution, ice blast and Valhalla so should I go on them this time?

Update... I’ve been on all the big roller coasters and rides now apart from Valhalla still and the new icon ride. Will go on icon but possibly Valhalla
You need to go in Valhalla or your missing out do it at the end of the day last ride as you get soaked

I won on this when I went on it last, managed to get like 120 spins or so. It took its toll afterwards though😂

I've never been on this kind of ride before.
The cool thing was that I joined the queue and the video gave you a very clear tutorial on how to spin the plane - it was delivered by the actual commander of the Red Arrows who said "your mission is to perform a 360 degree roll ...".
You must initially rock the plane by grabbing the shoulder bars - then you alternate the wing handles left and right so that you eventually sway into a 360 roll. You must then hold the wings in position for multiple rolls.
I set myself the task of just one roll - and that is what I achieved! - I came close a couple more times, but was flying completely upside down instead.
Great fun though.
One of the worst rides in Pleasure Beach, I queued for 30 mins just standing in a line with the sun in my eyes. When you get inside to scan your wristband, they show you a video on how to spin round. Once I got on, I was tilting and flapping them wings I couldn't even spin once. It's so hard to spin round, by the time you start to get it, they stop the ride.
Waste of time
You have to practice a few times. It's annoying I know, but I only started spinning on my 4th go. It can also depend on how heavy you are, and how long your arms are
bro u need to use your body wait as well but ive noticed it looks like the first 2 rows can spin alot alot alot alot! easier than the other rows
I think it's a boring ride and a waste of money for them.

why dont they use the wiings at the start. you dont hav enough power to move the plane on its own and you can rock more using the wings :)

I got 9 yesterday
As soon as I almost got 1 spin the ride stopped XD
It's really hard to go upside down I just about got the hang of it and the ride stopped -.-
No thanks freaks me out even looking at it.Will just stick with the Grand national, Big dipper,Avalanche.

If you think this is bad try the wild mouse it was that scary I came off the ride laughing for about 2mins with tears in my eyes because there's like 20 corners with 3 or 5 drops..
I'm going to Blackpool Pleasure Beach in 3 days and I'm terrified of all the loop to loop ride like Revolution and infusion I'll probably might try the Grand National probably the Big Dipper and and avalanche and I'll probably reply after that and tell you how it went?.
Rode this in the dark, queue took fucking aaaaages.
I didn't get a good plane for airflow and by the time I had racked up the nerve to spin it all the way upside down, the ride was over. I didn't go upside down...
This ride was hyped up so much but it really was not worth it the staff where awfully rude to me and my friends and it was nearly impossible to spin around know one on my go managed it it was incredibly dull God knows why this thing has a gift shop the theme park have attempted to make this thing a big hitter but it has not worked

e i have to admit i dont like this for 1 it looks like the first 2 rows can only do a 360 degree turn over and over again and the lower rows much more slower i also think they should lift the restriction cm up im 136 cm tall and 13 yrs old and when i got locked in i could not reach the handle bars to control the wings but i could control through my body weight and look out i found it was that windy that it brought the wings up on its own so i did manage to get a few flip :D

I enjoyed it - and interesting, because you might have feared such a ride, but you were instructed to "complete a 360 roll" - so that is what I did! I was focused on my task ...

That shouldn't put them off, wasn't it a staff issue too? It's got a bad throughput but it's awesome. I'd say Alton Towers should get one more though, it's the right height and they lack thrilling flats.

Sam Williamson It was a staff issue but I feel like Six Flags could get mad at a company for something like this, but it's also Six Flags' fault because they choose to not have a seat belt when Gerstlauer offered it at first.

Gerstlauer made the smiler ride at alton towers that crashed this week and that ride has had nothing but trouble from day one
Couldn't roll it once when I rode this. Still a fun ride!
Going on Saturday with my seven yr old. This looks a lot of effort for a kid to use. We may give it a miss depending on queues.
This is my kind of ride, plan on riding it next year for the first time, I don't want it to go upside down first ride which is fine I just don't move the wings.

Well you start rocking one way and putting your wings the other way Cary on until you actually do a spin,then hold that position for as long as you want and if you wanna stop level up your wings ( if that made no sense then on the ride they explain it better then I can
