Just that quiet (and quick-to-turn-over) GM starter sound reminds me of my parents' '71 Buick Skylark (with its typical-of-the-era 350), but that dual exhaust roar of a huge Caddy 472 just blows me away. Truly distinctive (and maybe superior?) was the sound of GM -- versus a Ford and especially a Chrysler back then. I rode in a Cadillac maybe once in my life -- could've been a '69 De Ville, and it was in '76 -- and I will never forget the smooth-as-silk ride.
I just love the tail-end of that Cadillac; automotive art! It also seems like many video capture devices have a tough time with the decibels from a big American V8!
Nice sound, I remember a dude in AK had a 70-71'ish Eldorado with the 500 and side-pipes... One day at the crowded movies, some ricer tried to show off and whizzed his little buzz motor... The guy with the Caddi' heard that, fired up his straight-piped 500ci monster and made it fucking *ROAR*... Women and children were screaming, the ricer buzzed away in shame, my ears were bleeding... Epic. [Ears really didn't bleed btw, maybe rang a little]
even after 40 years loads better than most of expandable cars built today! they have a charm that just lasts, i'd love to have one (sedan version)! but LPG would be a must....
I had a 1970 Olds with 455 cubic inches believe me those engines got warm fast. 2-3 minutes you couldn't touch it and the heat you had to turn down cause it was too much in no time
8200cc is what we use on trucks here!! hehehe super XL cars!! id love to buy one of these large chassis cars and retrofit them with 1200cc engine..super large roomy limo and economy at the same time!
Man, you just can't beat the sound of a big V8 ! That is a sweet sound. I got a V6 and even tho it has plenty of power, it sounds soooo lame. It just doesn't have that beautiful V8 harmonic !
@acrazycanuck78 what? 2500? for such an awesome car? where I live that (rutsty) costs about 10 to 20 grand, and in good condition its allways over 40 grand!
at last a guy who knows how to start a cold engine car.... No useless cranking for hours... Awesome car, awesome sound !
To realise grannies went shopping with this. Awesome car
GOTTA LOVE that 472..........BEST engine Caddy ever made, in my opinion. Had me more than a few..............love 'em!!!!

I just love the tail-end of that Cadillac; automotive art!

One of those moments you really wish you had a vid-camera, it _was_ amazing.
My first car was a '71 CADILLAC
sedan deville, and it was very fast, especially for over 3 ton (I think).
even after 40 years loads better than most of expandable cars built today! they have a charm that just lasts, i'd love to have one (sedan version)!
but LPG would be a must....
Cute bear guy
Awesome sound, especially towards the end 👌
What a pleasure to my ears
'71 had a 500. Caddy switched from the 472 to the 500 in 1970. Solid engines for sure. Amazing how that thing idles smoothly after all these years.
The Eldorados were the only 500s up until 1975 while the Devilles had the 472. In 1975, 500s were offered as standard on Devilles.
man i wish they still made cars like this all steel and big ass v8's bet the doors on that old girl are heavy ass hell lol
i like those caddilacs.71,72
a little pumpage and it started right up....how long had it been sitting?
Thing sounds bad ass.
At 1:59 that's an amazing top radiator hose! Never seen a car with one like that before.
Circlotron it's shaped like that because it's meant to go over and around the a/c compressor, which has been removed from this car.
sleeper caddie anyone agree
Not At All But Love It Anyway.
@acrazycanuck78 wow that sounds nice. what mufflers are you rnning on it?
Sounds awesome!! Is like a monster!!
I had a 1970 Olds with 455 cubic inches believe me those engines got warm fast. 2-3 minutes you couldn't touch it and the heat you had to turn down cause it was too much in no time

A 1200cc engine wouldn't even move this tank of a car! Let alone fuel economy.
crank sounds nice
This is my cars twin! Don't be cruel to the car at least cover it up in the winter. The sheet metal will thank you for it.
What was the gas mileage ? 25 ft per gal.
and people say old caddies are quiet and week
Only ones from 80's on
@@coreyboo199 not even those if you have the right pipes on it
Jes👌 nice,,!!
Alberta plate... where was this done?

I bet this car will live in 2071
It has massive breeding bulls in each cylinder and they're ejaculating out enough torque to put your farm tractor in shame.
V4 Garage your bones will rotten out in 2071 so u won't witness that u said so smd
whats that ticking noise? it could be your valves

it doesn't have its factory carb on it anymore..it has a holley with NO choke. and every car starts different anyway..
When you start the engine you said something like "Zapali" , or i'm mistaken ?
I'm from Bulgaria . On Bulgarian "Zapali" is "The engine is running" :)
Great car man!
Magnaflow Mufler?
Nice sound!
how much did you sell it for?
2:31 me thinks that last rev came from hell itself.
@acrazycanuck78 what? 2500? for such an awesome car? where I live that (rutsty) costs about 10 to 20 grand, and in good condition its allways over 40 grand!
Is that a 500 under the hood?

sorry to say but you are wrong. The 472 was produced from 1968-74.
Not bad. Just three quick turns of the key.
i totally agree.
