- Hollywood Joins My TH-cam. Who would have thought that when suddenly turning up to film this weeks TH-cam video, Liam Neeson would also arrive in Walhalla.
Because I wanted to film and present Walhalla untainted with its quirky houses and delightful history, I was initially annoyed that Hollywood had arrived and painted buildings, filled the streets with massive cinematic cameras, boom mikes and no less than 50 sound technicians, lighting, directors, make-up, it goes on.
However, after a few days I got used to stopping at their continuous road blocks, the inability to roam free and film for my TH-cam channel all the historic surrounds of this historic gold mining town.
Along with the other towns and tourist hot spots visited, I have blended the old parts of Walhalla as best I can along with some rough snippets of the town in full Hollywood motion.

Last time I was in walhalla was about 65 years ago and we camped on the old railway yard, plenty of leaches and good trout in the creek. That’s about all that I can remember I was about 6 then.
It was great to hear of your memories John. The railway yard is now fenced off and difficult to explore that area, but still worth the effort. The volunteers run the twice weekly tourist train to Thomson Bridge return. One of the gems about the town is the old post office with its back of house historic setup showing you how ut probably was in the past.

Thanks Paul. Know most of those places well but haven’t been to Walhalla for years so good to see the free campground and you with Liam of course 🤩. I think I have an ancestor born there in the gold rush days. Hope you are coping with the cool weather - not much of a summer here but I find it nice for travelling. I’m currently near Maldon at your suggestion 😊. Safe travels mate.

Paul you can crush the caravan parks, paying 140 dollars a day for a family of 5. Nice park, but is it value at 140, I don't think so...
