My son and I love your collection of old commercials and promotional videos. We have a gas 806 and a newer 986. Both have pulled the ih 505 16" plow we have.
Yes, I am new to this setup. The plowing outfit that was used before this was a Farmall H & Oliver two bottom trailer plow. So, I gave it a go for the first time in this video. There will be more plowing to do on more land in the spring. I can perfect my putt, so to speak, at that point.
Nope, had no clue. It was my first time using that outfit. It's a bit of a learning curve vs the H & trailer plow I used up until then. Things have gone much smoother since.
Fun video! It’s nice to hear another gasser working away! I tried to use our 706 to disk but it just doesn’t have the traction on the back with the loader on. Thanks for sharing!!
@@ikonseesmrno7300 The disk is an 8ft but we have a flat bar behind it to drag out the dirt and smooth the field over. It had plenty of power to pull it though!
The rear tires are loaded. My front could use some weight yet. I was indeed plowing deep into some ground that hasn't been tilled in a while. Also, sand & clay don't help much. Especially when the plow got hooked into a patch of clay & the rear tires are trying to dig through sand. :v)
Thanks! The tires are loaded. The issue was, the tires were grabbing at sand & the plow was hooked into some clay under the sand. That's why I'm only pulling 4x14". At times, that's a handful. The rest of the farm has rocks which always make for a good time. 😂
@@ikonseesmrno7300 I can speed plow around guys with 3 bottoms and not even make the tractor work. I know four and five bottoms makes for cooler videos, but I definitely know where my bread's buttered 🧈😉😎😀😄
@@FarmallFanatic But.... but.... I thought all the cool kids painted their plows before dragging the poor, hapless things across the field.... with the back bottom digging to china & the front tickling the weeds?? 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks! It worked better than I thought, never having operated a setup like this before. There's a bit of a difference between that rig & my H with a two bottom. :v)
It was about as painful to do, but it's a first time out. The learning curve began right there with this video. Until then, all my plowing was with a Farmall H & trailer plow. There's quite the difference between those two setups, though the basics are the same.

Wow, was this painful to watch, that 806 should have plowed like nobody's business, to much tractor for a novice

Is that why they made the auto reset for the plows
Indeed it is!

Glad you enjoyed! How big is the disc you were pulling? The 706 should be able to handle a 14 footer with few problems.

Nice rig 👍
Well look at you . Got to finally use the plow you bought! Hey glad you got some seat time ! I was happy with you!
Thanks for stopping by, Scott!! I had a great time with the new plow & getting the chance to use all the horses in the 806 for once. Regards!
Raise the plow up until tractor 🚜 'tiers are not spending. The plow is set to deep.
You might be a little "light" yet on the ballast but you were plowing rather deep in some, probably, older sod. Momentum, makes a difference.

Nice looking 806!
Thanks!
Worked nice in the end 👌

Nice machine ya got there. That's some good looking clay like soil.

Plow The feald don't Play with yourself
Need some throttle...
I'll be plowing down more acreage this fall. Will definitely be using more throttle. :v)
@@ikonseesmrno7300 Enjoy! Nice-running rig!
@@fredfullerton4943 Many thanks!
Your plowing way to slow… worked good once you adjusted it though. Nice tractor 😁
Once that plow scours a little more it should pull easier.
I agree. There really wasn't much sand going over the bottoms this time around. Should be able to get them nice & polished this fall.
I’ve got that sinking feeling, 😆!
You are plowing to deep.
U onli need tu plow 8"-u were plowing ditches!!-yor bringing up all that klay subsoil-& nevr bak up with tha plow in tha ground-yu'll break it!!😠😠
