The Henrico Way, Every Day: Waheed Sabawoon

Waheed Sabawoon, the Circulation Assistant Supervisor at Tuckahoe Area Library, is a native of Afghanistan and is fully committed to the library’s mission of promoting reading, lifelong learning, connecting people with information they need and enriching community life. Being multilingual helps him connect with patrons in one of Henrico’s most diverse areas (he speaks English, Pashto, Persian (both Dari and Farsi dialects), and knows the basics of Arabic and Russian. As you’ll see in the video, he drops a little Spanish in the mix as well. Waheed believes in the magic of languages and embodies the “Henrico Way” by going the extra mile for customers.
