The rear window contributes to heat built up too in the summer, so I would take it out and put in a zip window that can be easily opened and closed as the seasons dictate. Your Ami is small and dispersing heat inside is a must.

Thanks, great video! Some excellent tips there. We already have most of those accessories for our Twizy but I must get a set of fuses, also the charger converter. We only have three public chargers in our whole region here in Cyprus but one day that might change. The Twizy has an immobiliser but no alarm so we bought one designed for bikes and quad bikes for a bit of extra security. For keeping the windscreen clear we use cheap shaving foam. Just squirt some on a microfiber cloth and rub it on the windscreen, it seems to work quite well. We carry a can of puncture repair foam just in case.

Have you tried l'Isle du Levant? It's off the coast near Toulon, and it's part French 'secret' submarine base, part naturist resort.
I had to laugh when the commune police walked along the beach (one of them) telling transgressors that the 'undress code' was NOT optional! It's also a fish reserve so worth bringing scuba gear.

Awesome videos! Zipties is the accesory #11 get a second fan and ziptie it to the frame on top of passenger side is wonderfull for passenger confort the cable hides perfectly along window rubber seal, Also a bike bottleholder ziptied on left top frame will hold any tubular speaker and hide it from view, ziptying a rechargable usb light bar on back frame (with remote glued on dashboard) . That keeps all stuff neatly tucked away on my 3,500km ami. Also try tinting top window, helps a lot with summer temperatures 70% will do, its an easy and nice fix and you will still be able to see trafic lights @ night, no more hassle with the non sticky screen

As for car cooling in the Cote d’Azur heat, I think that you’ll have to visit a big electrical store that sell portable airconditioning units & find one that fits in the luggage well of your Ami.
They seem to be about £4-500 though ! 😱 A good one can also help to heat the car in winter too…..Black & Decker have a good range of units.

It is summer & the rainy season here in Chiang Mai, so we are cowering indoors with our a/c s running 24/7. I do not recommend the evaporative type of air coolers because the given wisdom is that they only create a temperature drop of about 2 degrees Celsius plus they add to the humidity! Right now I am using the dehumidifier function on my lounge a/c because it adds to the respite from outdoors where it is hot and sweaty, like 90% humidity at 8:30 in the morning but only 26C because there is a 100% rain forecast and heavy cloud. As ever your vlog is my essential viewing while I have my Monday breakfast. Good luck in Edinburgh.

In the winter when its freezing, then onboard heater may be insufficient so a usb heater could provide added comfort. @@MeandMonAmi Great. By the way: can you buy the roof rack extra that they put on the "monster SUV"-model? It would improve the loading capacity. I will "buy a coffee" for you asap. I have wanted an electrical car for 10 years, but they come at 400-500.000 kronor here. AND I have heard about batteries catching fire, 0.5 M kronor repairs (!!!), dirt expensive insurances... All these factors have had a chilling effect on me. So I waited, paid off student loans, and here you come in this tiny car! It makes me laugh, it has got such an attitude. I have now watched many of your videos and I am convinced that this car is right for me; it is right in time. I will keep my eyes 👀 open for any promotion here in Sweden. Haven't seen anything yet. From Citroën UK Website:
Each Ami will be delivered with a standard European two-pin plug and a type 2 adaptor enabling it to be charged at all UK public charging points. Please note: electric vehicles sold in the United Kingdom are required to have the ability to charge via a type 2 charging cable, and our approved Type 2 charger is only compatible with a European two-pin plug.

On the accessory #4, the Type 2 adapter, you certainly saved a lot buying it from Alibaba but it's not recommended using a short one like that since if you leave it unattended someone can disconnect it and eventually take it. Furthermore, in several EU countries is forbidden using an adapter (or an extension) on public street. If you use a longer adapter, the Shucko male and female can be inserted in the cable storage, you close the door and there is no adapter/extension exposed. You can find a longer extension on Amazon, duty and sales tax paid and Amazon support and convenience...

I’d be fascinated to see whether you could permanently fit a shallow roof rack to the Ami. You’d probably need to drill through the roof and the frame but if it’s sealed properly it shouldn’t be an issue. I know the ‘off road’ version has one. I have one on order for the UK, expected sometime in October. I have decided to go for a 3-year finance deal, though the rates are not all that attractive, because it effectively gives me a guaranteed resale price at the end of the period, should I wish to return it. I have no idea what the secondhand market will look like, and lithium batteries degrade with age. If I am being too cautious, I can just pay off the loan early and buy the car.
I worry about the misting, but will try the spray. Most of all I worry about the heat in the summer. I know that Citroen are producing a buggy version without doors. That is not attractive to me at all, but I wonder if it is possible to remove the doors temporarily in hot weather?
