SOMEWHAT QUICK READ/BACKGROUND TO THE COVER
soooo, I dont how i will be able to top this EVER :* just know this is not going to be my usual content that ill be putting out. this was a very unique occasion where i just instantaneously got the inspiration to do this one day after Diego (Pretty Patterns) tweeted about the song’s anniversary so CONSIDER THIS A GIFT :D
i didnt know about Diego only up to like a few months ago to be very honest. i was introduced by a retweet of a person that i follow promoting his Simple Folds cover contest. when i first played his song ‘Simple Folds’ i fell in love immediately. and now, after going back to his discography and listening to his new releases, i can say that i am a HUGE fan
i dont know what it is about his music it truly does inspire me to create music and create something AWESOME if that makes sense. push my boundaries and strive for more within myself (and cry). not to mention hes just all around a cool, kind person from what ive heard and seen. his contest is really what inspired me to try make music again after not making a sound for myself for about 3 years at one time. BUT, im just really glad im back and would like to thank him for being him and inadvertently help me get back on track and help me find my way back to doing what i love!
ATARAXIA IS A BEAUTIFUL SONG BTW, at first i wanted a metal arrangement but i just thought, i cant blast beat all the emotions away all the time. so the idea of recreation as a concept came to mind. but then i also thought, that would be too many guitar parts, it would be too much to work with and im not that advanced in my technical capabilites with my laptop, DAWs, plug-ins, and etc., if that makes sense, it just wouldnt sound good and i wanted to do something that would sound good and i would be proud of. so then i thought, i can make these sounds with my voice! so HERE WE ARE 75 VOCAL TRACKS LATER
now i do have a good close friend of mine that i have known for 10 years. that helped me out with this and really pushed me to do better with this cover musically, vocally, and really helped me refined the finer details with what i already had. music is what brought us together in the first place and since for approximately 8 years, we hadnt done any sort of music project together. so this was a great honor, not only now but always, to talk music with such a creative mind like hers. btw she has a music degree from Baylor music so her knowledge and expertise is VAST
this is probably one of the few times i do something like this, but i really wanted to celebrate this song’s anniversary in a very special way, so please enjoy! :)
