- A new song about paddling with our best canine friends past and present. Thanks to all the folks who donated their wonderful pics of their companions (your credits are rolling at the end of the video.) Had a blast putting this together.
I'm planning on performing this song along with a version of this video at Canoecopia in March, 2013.
BTW, this song and the new CD, "I Wrote This One For You" is available at jerryvandiver.com, cdbaby.com, iTunes, Amazon.com and many others. Hope you enjoy the video and THANK YOU for your support! -Jerry - เพลง
I can't say enough of how much this speaks to me. I used to be a very active canoeist in the Midwest courtesy of the Scouts, and now live in the Sonoran Desert. Thanks so much for a song that touches so many of us.
Thank you, Michael. I'm so glad it touched you. I play the song out quite often and am really moved by how many people respond to it in the same way.
Thank You Jerry Vandiver and the band! Something so very special for ME and Molly!
She was the "Worlds Best Dog" and what a great canoe tripping partner.....sighhhhhh.
When on my solo canoe trip in Canada, she was the BEST companion anyone could ever ask for, and the thing is, she never argued at all :) Thanks so MUCH, Paul
Bob, thanks so much for your kind words! Performing the song live to the slide show was a very, very special moment for me. Buddy sounds like he was a wonderful companion. I would have loved to have known him. Thanks again
Ellie and I got more than lumps in our throats when we listened to this video and saw the perfect pictures that went with it..I knew Ellie would "flip" when she saw it. Jerry, you're a genius! You and your group singing at Canoecopia was absolutely terrific. Thank you! This video will go out to all who paddled with and knew Buddy, our lab/weimaraner, a veteran of several BWCA trips, who wanted to be in the canoe despite his fear of water!
Would have LOVED to have known when you were taking folks photos to choose from :) You did a wonderful job in showing how we ALL love our fur babies
Thanks Jay C! I'm glad the pooches from down under have folks like you to care about them. All the best.
Love it
Hello Jerry, I don't know how I ended up here, started with watching cute and funny dogs, and well here I am. Just want to say how much I enjoyed your video. Our canine friends really are that and so much more, mine is laying on his very own computer chair, never letting me out of his sight and I wouldn't have it any other way. Your video and song brought tears to my eyes. Thank you from Australia.
Dogs are family all the way. Great tune Jerry.
Thank you, Amy!
Thanks Bolerama! I've been really moved by how many folks have been touched by this song and pics. Lots of great stories about trekking the wild with our four legged friends. Jerry
Paul, the thanks belongs to you and your relationship with Molly. It was inspiring to hear you tell me about her and I thank you for that. I hope Molly approves of this little tribute. Thanks so much. Jerry
Beautiful! I am going to share this on my FB page for my yaker friends. This is how I feel about my two dogs. Brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing your talent. Carol.
Fantastic video. The lyrics are so touching. My favorite water adventures and stories are the ones I've spent with my fluffy family. This song is perfect.
Great song & video- we'll add to our music video lists and song lists. Thanks
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. - Jerry
Jerry Vandiver Lovely to meet you Jerry- come and say hi on Talent Hounds Channel so it gets shared more- it' on the music videos playlist.
Just shared this on our Facebook page...LOVE IT! Will keep sharing it! You nailed it on the head...dogs and water.
This is great. Makes me think of canoe trips here in north-western Ontario with our dogs, Darby (day tripping dog) and the puppy, Plaid (the camping dog).
Nicely done, enjoyed it very much!
Thanks Joe. Sounds like Darby and Plaid are great canoe dogs.
Brings back memories of Bozo Bansia Bingo, all properly earned. We had many good years paddling the San Juan's together in a Clipper Maverick. Still miss him 18 years later.
Both his mother and his father where rescue animals. His mother a full blood red wolf rejected from a breeding program for reintroduction into the wild. Then abandoned by those who adopted her when they fell on hard times. It took a special permit just to keep her. His father a Aussie full blood who adopted me after the old man who raised him died. Bingo was a very loveable character.
I loved it!
love love love.. :) this is TOO cute :)
Very well done~~ Pawsitively Pawsome!!! :))
Thank you, Carol. So glad it touched you. By all means, feel free to share.
Thanks outrageous, glad you came along.

I have been asking for a dog for years. Thanks for this.
GREAT JOB!
thanks, pawpads! Love the "dogs and water". So true. I'll go see if I can find your facebook page. Jerry
nice video but I lost my boating partner at 16.5 Jake was a Shepard husky mix. I had to send him to paddle and boat alone till I get there again 2-15-16. I watched him be born on my birthday too. Jake and his mother Rose were rescues along with 4 brothers and a sister who all found good homes. RIP
+PaddleDogC5 Thanks for posting. I'm so sorry to hear about Jake. We lost our beloved Ringo just a few weeks ago and the camp is too empty without him. Thank you for giving Jake a loving and happy home.
thanks Jerry the great they are during life the harder it is to say good-bye. I have had many over the years and it never gets any easier. Lucky I have three others right now. I have been very fortunate to have most live overly long lives. More need homes many homeless which most of my pets were pound doggies. My wife retired and now works at Northshore Animal League on Long Island. They adopted over 18,000 dogs and cats last year. RIP Ringo till we all meet again!.
Thanks Mary Jean!
Thanks Tahe.
Thanks, Outrageous. Glad you like it.
Thanks Miat, glad you liked it!
Great song and video..
Thanks, Tom! Glad you found it and enjoyed it.
thanks Hoz!
Nice job. Paul is a friend of mine.
Thanks, Ag! Paul is a great guy and paddling friend.
Does this mean I have to buy another CD? I love the 2 I have.
Thanks for the laugh and the compliment! Just in case you'd like to buy the CD, this song is featured on "Every Scratch Tells A Story". And in the "For What It's Worth" category, I'm in the middle of recording a new CD project called "The Middle Of Somewhere" that will be available January 2020. In either case, thanks for enjoying "Me And Molly". It's one of my favorites.
Thanks shy-anne. We'll get Jake in the next one.
